I regularly book a car from ACE

I regularly book a car from ACE Manchester Airport, usually via a third party. I have always found ACE staff to be courteous and efficient. I particularly favour ACE over the mainstream rental companies who are located at a remote Car Rental Village when carrying heavy baggage because ACE provide an Airport to Car transfer. At the rental village it can be a long walk with bags, sometimes over rough ground, from the shuttle drop off point to car.

It was a smooth and efficient…

It was a smooth and efficient experience. Staff Michelle had welcoming energy and helpful in getting our rental reservation. Questions were answered, process was fluid and her vibe was charismatic from start to finish. First time with Ace-Rent-A-Car and would definitely reserve in the future. Thank you Ace and Michelle!

Booked for Miami

Booked for Miami , just cancelled with them, having read all the terrible reviews it made the decision easy. Once booked and took out full insurance through booking agents for ace I was advised about further insurance, when I questioned this I got an email back from ace who said the coverage I took out doesn’t include some key parts , this was from customer care who didn’t even spell my name correctly and was very vague , at that point alarm bells rang and I checked reviews and was shocked to see some of the horror stories so I amended my booking to a more reputable company so ace won’t be getting my custom now or in future. I’m one of the lucky ones who found out beforehand.

Terrible customer experience

Terrible customer experience in Gdansk, terrible way to push me to sign a the return of the car even though I've explained that the window just simply cracked alone whilst in the shopping mall car park due to the difference in temperature and fake promises to provide me a repair report, nothing. Just rushed to charge for the deposit. Money not the issue, lack of professionalism is. Being honest don't pay off, not with Ace Rent a car! Never use again. Car trawler have had no clue how to handle the situation. Ace is "trying to pay for the cars" by searching for minor issues in my two bookings, sneaky!

I strongly advise against renting from…

I strongly advise against renting from ACE Rent A Car Katowice.

After returning the vehicle, the company charged me for alleged damages that were already present before I received the car. The most concerning part is that these pre-existing damages are clearly visible in the company’s own check-out photos and videos.

I provided screenshots taken directly from their documentation proving this, yet the company still attempted to hold my deposit and ignored my detailed explanation for an extended period.

They also claimed damage to an internal part of the vehicle without providing any baseline inspection photos from before the rental. As a customer, it is impossible to inspect or document hidden internal components before driving away.

This experience has been extremely stressful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Customers should not have to fight to prove their innocence using the rental company’s own evidence.

Terrible experience with ACE Rent A Car…

Terrible experience with ACE Rent A Car legalized scam.
We booked a Fiat 500 from Napoli and got a Panda instead. Fine, maybe it’s the same category. But the real scandal is something else: if you don’t buy their €150 insurance (even though we already had full coverage insurance from another company), they literally charge you €1800 upfront. Not a simple deposit held on the card.They actually take the money, and they say it will only be refunded 30 working days after returning the car. Does this sound normal to anyone?
And to make things worse, the staff were eating while handling customers and talking with their mouths full during the paperwork. Completely disgusting and extremely unprofessional.
Avoid this company if you don’t want stress, hidden conditions, and terrible customer service

Definitely stay clear of this place!

Definitely stay clear of this place!. They give you the "Cheapest" Rates but when you arrive, there are extras charges, when you check out there are MORE extra charges. I sat there waiting (With at least 6 other people) for nearly 2 hours waiting for a car. Then I didn't get the car that i had paid a premium for and they still charged me the higher rate. The Car was a total mess even though i was waiting so long as the car was being cleaned, which was clearly a lie!. Absolutely the worst rental experience i have ever had... to make matters worse we are STILL waiting weeks later for the $100 that was over charged to my credit card and they just keep giving excuses. STAY AWAY FROM ACE!!

Absolutely horrible experience with ACE…

Absolutely horrible experience with ACE Car Rental at JFK Airport. I paid for everything in advance, then suddenly got charged an extra $65 for tolls with no clear explanation. When I called customer service to ask about it, the representative was unbelievably rude and literally hung up on me. I called back asking for a manager, and the second employee was even worse. He told me the manager was “too busy,” claimed there is only ONE manager for the whole company, and then hung up on me too.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a rental car company. Extremely disrespectful staff, unprofessional behavior, and zero accountability. If this is how ACE treats customers after taking their money, people should avoid this company completely.

I never learn my lesson with these…

I never learn my lesson with these guys. Don't be tempted by their prices. It's not worth it, and they'll shove insurance down your throat, claiming it's a legal requirement.

This time around, they didn't have a car ready for me (with a reservation in place) and wanted me to wait an hour and a half after landing at FLL for my mother's funeral. The desk agent agreed to cancel my reservation and then backed out.

I walked a few feet over to SIXT and got a car within ten minutes.

Stay away from ACE.

Disappointing experience - Lack of transparency and poor customer service

I had a very frustrating experience with Ace Rent a Car at Miami Airport. Despite having a confirmed reservation, the company imposed unexpected conditions and showed zero flexibility in solving a simple issue.

I tried to resolve the situation directly through their customer service and via email, but they preferred to lose a customer rather than provide a fair solution. It is clear they do not value customer loyalty or satisfaction. If you are looking for a stress-free rental in Miami, I suggest looking elsewhere. Extremely disappointed.

Really bad experience

When I went to collect a hire car from them on the 16th February 2026. The one I booked was not available anymore, so I was forced to upgrade. Not alot of money but they shouldn't have done that at all.

When I dropped the car off I handed the keys to someone, they said thank you and we was told we could go. No checking the car or anything.

2 days later I got a damage report dated and time stamped 28 hours after I dropped the car off, Saying there was around £400 in damage and that they will automatically charge my card. I emailed them, no reply.

The next day £400 was taken. Emailed again, no reply.

Contacted my credit card company, they reversed the transaction

Today I received an email from my credit card company saying Ace have challenged the charge back and provided a document dated the 20th February (the day I dropped the car off) with full cost breakdown of the repairs, which has my signature on! Well something that looks similar to my signature if you squint.

They must be able to see into the future as they managed to cost the repairs before they even looked at the car.

So basically, the claimed damage that wasnt caused by us (and we know we didnt cause it as the damage was on the interior of a rear door, we didnt even open the rear door) and they have forged my signature. I will be reporting you to the relevant authorities.

Biggest scammers I’ve ever seen in 60 years. Charged me extra insurance even though I had worldwide one. Hanging up on me when I’ve asked for my deposit refund. Rude, uneducated people. Unbelievable, do not use. Scammers

Have emailed them several times and I getting reply here to contact them. Can’t believe that they are not even bothered to check first.

Contacted Customer service and despite the fact that I have proof that ive sent documentation for my Worldwide insurance to their agent Lucky , they are not refunding and not accepting the fact that they are wrong. AVOID, they will charge you form air breathing while driving their car. First time and never again.

I strongly advise against this rental company at the Wrocław airport. If you don't buy insurance or other extras, they'll find nonexistent scratches in the paint and charge you exorbitant fees. They charged £670 to my credit card for something that looked like two fingernail scratches in the photo. Furthermore, on the day I returned the car, I called them and they told me everything was fine and refunded the entire deposit. Then, the next day, they charged me the above amount. How that's even possible, I don't know. Luckily, I had insurance, but without it, it's better not to risk it.

Prepared to be scammed, customer service is zero help

Edit: LOL they didn't even read the review since they asked me to email them...***like I stated they would****. Such a BS copied and pasted response.

Car was decent and clean, only had 6K miles on it, (different brand / model than I selected but did the job), pickup was a bit of a hassle (they were NOT on site at the Las Vegas airport as advertised....requiring TWO DIFFERENT shuttles and 45 minutes of waiting and commute between these shuttles to get to the rental car place).

FYI, their “prepaid gas” thing is pretty much a scam unless you can bring the car back completely empty. I fell for that nonsense so that is on me but don’t believe script read off about gas prices. You are wasting every gallon of gas left in the tank. Better off just top off the car before dropping off vs paying them $80 to give you pretend gas. Again, I fell for that so that one is on me :)

Big issue was Ace told me I needed to prove I had enough insurance for the car, no biggie I realize that is a newer NV law. I showed them my declaration page from my State Farm insurance policy with all the names, coverage limits, etc. Agent within 1 second of looking at the doc claimed that was NOT what was needed and thus had to charge me another $20+ per day otherwise I’d lose my rental. I very reluctantly agreed to pay after a bunch of arguing and showing them plenty more docs...which the agent also rejected after only glancing at. Later finding out the first page (among a few others) I showed them were indeed what they needed. After I cleared that up, they refused to remove the redundant insurance during the rental and still refuse to refund it after the rental. Of course the insurance was never used either. Out $120 because their pickup agent doesn’t know how to do their job nor did I have any way to get to another rental car company since I was 2 shuttles away from the airport now. Spent dozens of emails with Ace, phone calls, chats, etc. Everyone at any of these methods refuses to help, pawns you off a new person, who then asks you for all the same info again, every email is a completely new thread with no history of replies, etc. Seriously this company is well practiced as this scam thing.

P.S. The "owner" claims he wants everyone to email "customercare (at) acerentacar.com. When replying to their bad reviews. I've already been there, done that, and they are zero help.
