Surprise customs bill for £105

Purchased boots for £240, then had a SURPRISE customs bill for an additional £105.
Do not buy from Alpinstore for the UK delivery.
The checkout process is not clear about how much local taxes will be. After appealing to customer service they said I could have a refund less the £105.
DO NOT BUY FOR UK DELIVERY

Since January 1, 2021, VAT and administrative fees apply as follows:

- Orders under £135: Local VAT is paid directly when ordering on our website. Only administrative fees may be charged (£5 for DPD and £11 for DHL).

Orders over £135: Local VAT must be paid upon delivery to the carrier, along with additional administrative fees (£5 for DPD and £20 for UPS).

We understand that this may seem restrictive and do our best to ensure this information is clear before you confirm your order.

Order out of stock item

I went through the process of buying a pair of ski, which were nicely discounted. After the confirmation email with invoice, I did not receive any update on the dispatch during the rest of the week. Today I contacted the customer service regarding the late dispatch, they at least gave me a prompt friendly answer, but was informed that the item in my order is currently out of stock and unavailable. I now have to wait for a refund of my payment for at least 2-3 business days, which is causing that I cannot go immediately to another store.

I have never received my parcel

The shipment fees are exaggerated and after a week I still haven't received my parcel. It looks like it has been lost by UPS

I was charged $55 for shipping but I was then again charged $55 for an import fee upon delivery. Not happy

The following information is detailed in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale, and a red message in your shopping cart during checkout should indicate that fees may apply depending on the country.

"Since August 29, 2025, the exemption from duties and taxes for shipments to the United States under $800 has been suspended. A 15% customs fee is therefore automatically applied, in addition to a $20 customs clearance fee charged by the carrier."
