Broken promises, phantom charges, and zero accountability

After over a year with ClickUp, the experience has shifted from productive to incredibly frustrating. As a B Corp agency, we prioritize transparency and partnership, but ClickUp has failed on both fronts.

The core of our disappointment lies in a consistent failure to deliver on promised services:

Unfulfilled Promises: We were guaranteed specific AI credits and support levels for the year that were simply never provided.

Phantom Billing:Despite not having access to or using AI for over three months, we were charged £7 per user/month for the service (over 20 users). We are effectively being forced to pay for a tool we couldn't even use.

Support Blackout: When we flagged these billing discrepancies, it took over weeks to receive a reply. We later discovered our account manager had left, but no one picked up the slack, leaving our account in limbo while the charges continued to pile up.

Lack of Value: On top of the billing issues, the platform has become increasingly slow and riddled with bugs, making it difficult to justify the cost.

We are part of a support a network of over 250 other agencies who regularly discuss software recommendations.

Based on this experience of being overcharged for undelivered services and ignored by support, we will no longer be recommending ClickUp and actually advising NOT to use it. We are now seriously reviewing whether to migrate our operations to a more reliable competitor.

Productivity and Project Organization with ClickUp

The migration to ClickUp significantly improved the organization and management of projects by creating dedicated environments for squads and departments. This separation brought more clarity to responsibilities, priorities, workflows, and visibility across teams, making project tracking much more structured and efficient.

With a better-organized workflow, it also became easier to achieve greater predictability in deliveries, sprint planning, and task prioritization. Teams now have clearer visibility into deadlines, dependencies, and ongoing activities, which helps reduce bottlenecks and improve overall execution.

In addition, AI-powered features have been extremely valuable in day-to-day management. Automating summaries, task descriptions, documentation, and organizational processes helps optimize time, reduce manual effort, and support faster decision-making, allowing teams to stay focused on strategic and high-impact activities.

I am obsessed with ClickUp

What I love about ClickUp is that it keeps everything in one place, tasks, docs, comments, and files, so I’m not digging through email chains to find context. AI Notetaker has also been a game-changer for me because I can actually pay attention in meetings and still walk away with solid notes, a transcript, and clear next steps. Overall, it’s made handoffs and tracking progress way easier, and we spend less time chasing updates.

ClickUp is very useful

ClickUp is very useful. I really like how they provide a free version for those who want to test it first, with no block limits, unlike other similar apps. I also enjoy navigating the custom templates; they allow you to describe what you want and automatically provide a template that fits your preferences. Lastly, I have to mention how much I enjoy using Super Agent (AI). It simplifies my work by following up on pending tasks assigned to the teammates I'm in charge of.

A Game-Changer for Remote Team Productivity

Since our team switched to ClickUp, we’ve finally been able to manage tasks properly. It has made working from home seamless, ensuring nothing is overseen and communication stays clear. We especially love the native calling feature.

However, I’m rating this 4/5 because the Google Calendar and Google Drive integrations are quite unreliable. They keep disconnecting frequently, which is really annoying as we have to constantly monitor them to ensure everything is still synced. If these connection issues were resolved, it would easily be a 5-star tool for us.

My company started using the ClickUp application for all communuications. Now that I have been introduced, I find it is a great user experience for tracking tasks and the Ask AI feature looks at all activities and documents from my/our workspace to provide very accurate and useful answers.

olid workflow tool for managing ad campaigns

Been using ClickUp for managing our ads production workflow — briefing, creative reviews, feedback rounds, and final approvals all in one place. It replaced a mess of scattered chats and emails, and now everything is tracked and assigned properly.
The task management and project views are genuinely useful for keeping campaigns on track. ClickUp Brain on mobile is a nice touch when you're away from your desk and need to catch up fast.
The only gripe is the mobile app can feel a bit slow when switching between spaces during a live campaign. And notifications can pile up quickly across multiple projects; it needs better filtering.
Overall a reliable tool for creative and marketing teams. Would recommend if you're managing multi-step workflows.
