Completely unreliable connection and shambolic customer service. Worked for the first 24 hours and then, well, gave up the ghost. The BBC iplayer server is consistently unavailable. After contacting CyberGhost customer service I received a pro forma response saying they were aware of the problem and their engineers were looking at it. I cancelled my subscription and have written off the £10 or so I paid for the first month, on the basis that trying to get the money back from is not worth the effort (I imagine this in and of itself is a worthwhile revenue stream for a failing VPN service). I took out a subscription based on a positive review about CyberGhost's ability to stream BBC iplayer in PC Mag UK "The Best VPNs for the UK in 2020" by someone called Max Eddy who I have to assume was either employed by CyberGhost or not entirely sane. Likewise, I cannot believe my experience is so different from everyone else - and yet the massive number of positive reviews for CyberGhost would seem to say otherwise. I can only assume many of them are fake. Avoid.

I have been a paying Ghostie for 8 years now. Up until around 6 months ago I would have rated CBG 4 stars. But for the regular problems following forced updates, having to do a clean reinstall virtually every update.
However in recent times I have been extremely unsatisfied with the client and service. Chiefly concerning the client is the bloat. Additional modules Antivirus, Security Updater, and Privacy Guard. Personally I would never have all my security layers in one app/software suite. In which case as a paying customer I should be able to decide which modules to install in the first place.
Following the latest update I was forced to perform an offline reset of Windows 10 Pro OS, and change my Antivirus before the updated Cyberghost would connect at all. When immediately prior to the CBG update everything ran smoothly, and in the interim no other changes occurred on my system. This has happened several times before one way or another.
I'm sick of getting the Tap-Windows error. If you try very hard you can find a considerable number of different fixes for this online, none of which have ever worked for me. I feel very strongly Cyberghost should dedicate some significant effort towards providing strong technical help to it's customers regarding this issue. Passing the buck does not cut it in any case.
However in my experience, up to now technical support mostly consists of being told to do a clean install of the CBG app/software. Not any actual help to solve the actual problem! Every time by persons whose first language is very likely not English. This all needs significant improvement starting with some Tech's whose first language is English please?
Over the past 5-7 days the CBG service on my Android mobile has gotten all but unusable. I attempt to open any app that connects online and it just hangs. I force stop CBG, connect to another server and away we go for a short time. Force stop, reconnect, and repeat, and so on. Thinking about it as I type it's likely since the last update.
This used to be a great service which after 8 years I feel strongly is turning otherwise.

Great service, really! Unfortunately, it has been working very slowly for several weeks. Recently, it takes a long time to load content from the Internet or refresh a page. It's quite bothersome. Until recently, the speed was satisfactory. I will add that I have been a premium user for two years. And I intend to remain it, as long as the speed of connections is satisfactory.

Cool VPN. It's works from any country I choose. Very practical for most action. I can see Belgium TV as if I were in Belgium. It's really secure for all streaming, or critical work download. Great One!!
