This magazine is fantastic, essential reading for any farmer whether they are arable or a livestock farmer! So informative and interesting articles, full of tips, advice and experiences of forward thinking people.

I give it 4 stars because its a great effort, relevant and provides valuable info and discussion which is not easy to find elsewhere. If I had the choice I would give it 3.5, There are articles which have an agenda, and not always in the interests of the reader. I think the editors could be more selective in what they print and in some cases require contributions to be shorter/more concise.

This is the best farming magazine out there.
Objective, in depth articles on conservation agriculture backed up with science.
I have given up subscibing to other magazine at present. It would be good to get more articles from livestock farmers trying different things, even if this only extends to the direct drilling part of the equation.
Terrible to say it but I would be prepared to pay for the magazine.

I really enjoy DD as it such a refreshing breath of “non Pharma content” air and probably unique in the UK in that regard. We are trying to convert to No Till and many of the articles are very helpful indeed. Having attended every Groundswell since the first show it is a welcome continuation of the Show’s themes that inspires me all year round now! Well done and keep it up chaps!!

Totally unique magazine that exists to benefit farmers knowledge base and progression into the world of conservation agriculture, no-till seeding and all the associated issues. It’s genuinely put together by normal working farmers who are on a journey of discovery and sharing their good and bad experiences. Highly recommended. These magazines will be saved and re-read unlike most others!

A really honest well put together magazine where you learn something with every issue as very informative. Like the way it is obvious if the they are articles from the manufacturer etc and then the genuine farmer stories so you know if there is any bias. The manufacturers etc have all been very good at trying to stay as neutral as possible rather than sell sell sell.
Really good look forward to it arriving

Possibly the best farming magazine available, in depth articles that are well written. Farmer written pieces that are comprehensive and honest , not overly preechy.
I do like the QR links to you tube etc
We understand that some articles are needed to pay for the publishing etc but we can glean some info from them as well.
On the whole a well written , put together magazine , im keeping all back articles to use as a resource for further investigation

A fantastic source of uncorrupted-by-sponsorship media that delivers a wide range of both current and historical experience and information about 'Direct Drilling' - Information that is more often than not unavailable in the mainstream media. The only subscription required for today's progressive agricultural business.

Superb publication sharing highly educational and therefore useful information in an important sector. Conservation agriculture. Couldn’t entertain expanding into this exciting area without the knowledge base offered by this magazine specifically the highly valued contributors that give excellent first hand information on their experiences. Information from advertisers is also crucial as the equipment options to achieve conservation agriculture end goals, expands.

Some interesting articles but too much preaching about dd. Also some articles just not interesting and too heavy on science. I do dd my crops but still only flick through and generally only read articles from other farmers and some of those are pretty predictable. As mentioned I dd my crops and it still doesnt interest me a great deal.

Great to be hearing the case studies from farmers who have been practicing conservation Ag / DD / cover crops etc for a number of years, especially for me when I am in the early years of the transitional period of Conservation Ag.
It doesn't really get covered in the main stream farming press for obvious reasons. And there is so much to learn and it is a slow transition, but I am starting to see benefits already.
Look forward to the next issue of Direct Driller landing in my post box.

Having been a direct driller on and off since 1980, I found the magazine to be really informative. We still face many of the same problems now as we did back in the '80s. However, our understanding is better and cover crops add a new dimension. Looking forward to the next edition.

I love the magazine, especially articles on soil improvement and machinery mods. Thanks to Chris,Clive and the team for making it happen.
The only thing I would say is that the print is often too light coloured to make easy reading for the poorer sighted readers, A darker shade of print would be good please!

a fantastic and informative read. The content is very relative to where the industry needs to be and helps with practical advice which is easily transferable to our own farming system. Its useful to also look back at past issues to help keep guiding me to achieve the direction I want my farming system to go.

Thoroughly enjoyable and informative read. For someone like myself who is interested in soil improvement whilst still farming "conventionally" (NE Scotland), there is much to be taken and mulled over as we move slowly towards lower levels of inversion tillage in our farming operation.

I really look forward to receiving the magazine and read it more than once. Excellent content and well put together.
The only criticism I would have is that photos sometimes appear without a caption. It would be nice if there was an explanation with each one.
Keep up the good work.

Direct driller is pretty much the only decent magazine for those who implement regenerative practices. We are trying to wean ourselves off the conventional mindset on our farm and the info in this mag, especially the farmer focus articles are brilliant. keep up the good work.

As we are new to direct drilling we find your magazine articles very informative and the magazine itself is of a very high quality.
We have completed our first season of direct drilling and are extremely pleased with our drill and the seed bed and crops coming up.

A great magazine and one that is vitally important in this day and age of carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
Good variety of subjects and contributors make this journal a very interesting read.
I have kept all the paper copies I was sent for reference.
