If you have to have satellite tv good luck
If you have to have satellite tv they are probably the better of the 2 but don't try to contact them for any issues. It is about impossible to talk to anyone with a brain.
The installer was outstanding, the support staff not so much
The installer came out on a Sunday so that I could get Dish up and running as quickly as possible. He was outstanding and had all the hardware installed within an hour. Then for the next FIVE HOURS he had to deal with the support people. First problem, even though I had told the representative I talked to when I signed up for DISH I wanted a remote wireless TV hookup he did not put it down on the work order so the installer did not bring in the necessary items when he arrived, he had to go back out to his truck and look around to see if he had one, fortunately he did. But then he has to spend time on the phone with the support people to get it registered so they would get paid for it. Then he turns on the system and the software is out of date. No problem? The system would not upload the new software so nothing would work. He had to call in again. Turns out FIRST you have to download all the new software for the main unit without the remote wireless turned on and get that up and running. Then you turn on the remote wireless unit, download new software there and get it running. It took five hours to get it done. IMHO this is the kind of thing the support people back in the shop could do and have everything up to date and not cause inconvenience to the customer having to do downloads in their home. The ONLY thing that made this install tolerable was the service guy doing the install. I give him five stars and gave him some nice stuff for his family. The support People I give a big thumbs down as they did nothing to make things easier for the customer.

Simply awful product. There are too many things wrong with this to go into detail. Don't waste your money! Commerce Commission should have it taken off the market as it's not fit for purpose.

It’s absolutely awful!! There is so many glitches in the joeys that I wouldn’t even know where to star!!! Every single room has the exact glitches!!!! It’s so slow when pushing buttons on the remote control. Their on demand is terrible. It’ll pause it’s self or skip ahead out of nowhere. There are certain channels that when fast forwarding or rewinding it will skip to the end or rewind itself all the way back to the beginning! They have also deleted our DVR several times on us!!!! Amongst a million other “glitches!” Stay away from DISH if possible!!!

I been accustomed for this company for 3 years and never have problems when I call last month I call because I was missing one channel on my package and the supervisor put a credit because what's going on but today I see the credit it was for only one month so because she says the was talking about the situation so she says if I have the same problem to call back and see what can't do again so today 2/24/2020 I call and customers service answers my phone call name its noe so him check my count and after that he says the was going to transfer my call to the department for can help me well ms.Maria take my phone call and she says well you ready have you credit last month for that so I nothing I can do for you that's rude customers service she have to go back to training for better customers service because if you Supervisor telling me to call back if I have the same problem for continue with my credit to when the channel hit back so I think that's why you company have bad reviews online because people like Maria not have experience with customers service oh lazy people the not want to work!!!!!

It should be called commercial TV and not Dish. About 40% of the
broadcasting is commercial and the commercials are nothing but pathetic. I make a point to change the channel on commercials and to never buy anything Dish puts in commercials.
I can't understand how you can put a monthly charge on your subscribers and then bombard them with sick commercials?
The majority of the broadcasting is rerun. Not to mention paid advertising channels And drug and insurance commercials. And lest I forget, donate and donate commercials!. Nothing but greed everywhere you look.

Never buy Dish tv , I have dish TV my set up box spoiled it was changed after 2 days it again got spoiled and they again changed it approx two months now again today it got spoiled , what non sense is this Everytime technition charges 200 rs , they have worst customer service I can say , selling they will install within 48 Hrs , but for service it's zero , so anybody planning to by dishtv don't buy.

Thought Dish was a good deal when we decided to cut the cord with Comcast because our bill with everything (landline phone, tv and Internet) had creeped up to $250.00 per month. So we went with Dish and have had them for about 6 weeks now. First we bought a powerful modem and router and Netflix was almost unwatchable. So we bought a WI-FI Mesh system to boost the signal. After that issue we started having problems with the remote. The "Voice Remote" where you speak into it to get to the channel you want to watch is a BIG JOKE. It works maybe once out of 6 or 7 tries. Acts like it does not understand English. The "backlight" on the remote goes out in about 2 seconds so I have to keep shaking it to keep the backlight on while I'm using the remote- or have to go turn on the lights. Reported this 3 times and nobody at Dish is responding.
Finally, customer service - THERE ISN"T ANY. Unless you are prepared to do "chat" on your computer do not even try to phone unless you have 30-45 minutes(sometimes longer) to wait for a response. AND there is no way to get Amazon PRIME or HBO. To add insult to injury we paid the installer over $72.00 for two 4K Ultra HD cables he said would give a better picture. On my Dish bill they are charging me again for the two cables. I phoned them after a long wait they said there is "Nothing we can do." So I am being charged twice for the set of cables. WE VERY MUCH REGRET WE PICKED DISH TV. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

The worst customer service! Hold times are ridicules. Was a subscriber for years. Finally needed the new updated equipment. After months without all Fox channels I had had it! They had the audacity to say I was under contract $350 later blank u DishTv . I will go out of my way to make sure none of my friends or family EVER sign up with these clowns. dish network has poor programming and just lost a local channel. They are hard to reach by phone and we have stayed on the phone over an hour trying to get a representative. We were moving and were told all of our equipment was outdated. Why didnt they offer us updated equipment before ? My husband called to get our service discontinued because we were moving. He gave then the date and they turned our service off before the requested date. We called and then they ask for money to turn it back on. Keep in mind we were not late on our bill at all! Bottom line the service stinks and so does the customer service. I recommend you go somewhere else. They lied to us saying since January we had unused money credits and we never knew but could only use if we kept the service. Supposedly the representative said only he could see that no other rep could. I believe they cut our service off because we were not interested in keeping them and my husband kindly declined any new service deals. So dont waste your time with them!

DISH UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, CONSUMERS BEWARE
I sold my summer house December 2018 and the new owner was going to have the account transferred when they moved in March. In April I started receiving bills from Dish for 129.00 that was being directly charged to my credit card.I disputed the charge and in May received another bill and charge to my card for the month of May. When I called DISH I was told 3 different things from 3 different reps.
Rep 1: The new owners never transferred the account and therefore, the account was still active and under my name. DISH could not set up another account while it was still active under my name. I would need to pay a $310 early termination fee and the past 2 months owed even though I have not owned the house nor used the service since December. I was told the new owner could not set up an account until I closed mine and therefore, new owners were using the service under my name I ask to speak to a supervisor
Rep 2 Supervisor: The supervisor informed me the rep I spoke with was new and in fact there was an account active under another name at the same address but there was also an active account under under my name as well. I ask how there could be 2 accounts for 1 dish in a private home. She replied DISH doesn't monitor that and even though they are billing another account I would still need to pay the past 2 months and the early termination fee. I ask why they should be profiting from 2 accounts, she said it was not Dishes responsibility to monitor. She then told me my early termination fee was now $420 not the $310 told to me 5 minutes earlier by the first rep. I ask to speak to some one in the resolution department
Rep 3: I was told that DISH can indeed bill multiple parties in the same home for the same service. Even though DISH was already paid by the new owner for the monthly service I would also need to pay because there was an account under my name
In summary, Dish is getting paid twice for the same service and also is receiving a termination fee from me. In total DISH is requiring I pay over $800 for a service being billed and paid for by the new owner. When they activated the new account DISH could see there was already an account active but made no effort to investigate why there were 2 active accounts for a private home. Instead DISH was happy to double bill by allowing 2 contracts for the same home and would not even consider crediting me back the 2 months that they had already been paid by the new owner. This demonstrates unethical and very poor business practices, DISH clearly doesn't care at all about the consumer
People BEWARE and use Use Direct TV instead.
