Drone Pilot Training Academy Belfast 

Having recently bought a drone, my wife bought me the course as a Christmas present. Robert is very knowledgable of his profession. As I am an absolute beginner he talked me through all the safety aspects and regulations to start. He then set me in front of the simulator to practice flying without causing any damage! Having completed that, we then went out to the flying area. We completed safety checks, taking off, flying and landing. As the session progressed we got more adventurous and flew round the inner perimeters of the site, controlling height, speed and direction. At all times Robert fed me information. His gentle manner and patience made the course very enjoyable and I highly recommend it to beginners.

Robert is Incredibly Knowledgable trainer. As a teacher myself I could appreciate his approach in working with me. Robert put me through the GVC qualification and made the process as straight forward as possible. Plenty of support with the Ops Manuals too.

I have recently passed both my A2 CofC and also my GVC with Robert. Robert is extremely professional and also a very nice guy. He has a great training facility in Carryduff with plenty of flying space and also a great teacher. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a drone trainer.

Just passed my A2 CofC with Robert. Apparently I was only the second to do so since the new regulations came into effect at the start of 2021. Robert has a great set-up near Carryduff, plenty of flying space. Nice guy and we spent far more time chatting than working but job done! If I do go on to take the GVC I would be very happy doing so with Robert.

Robert is amazing. Having years of experience combined with a tranquil setting ensures that the Drone Pilot Training Academy is the the place where everyone should go.

Today was the day I did my flying exam and it was an exciting experience. Our instructor, Robert Dobbin, was a very approachable and understanding guy so we were all content and comfortable knowing that he would be willing to help us. In return, he thanked us for being a part of the exam.
The way the theory test was done was good, although I preferred it would be done electronically, via computer. Still, the questions given were simple yet still challenging to answer.
The flying exam was quite challenging but our instructor, Robert, was still able to aid us professionally and was always there to assure us.

Overall, it was a great experience and Robert is a fantastic instructor.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in drone flying or photography. It's worth the experience.

Robert is a gentleman and went way beyond the call of duty to facilitate our exam. We were all made to feel extremely welcome and he’s great at easing the nerves and explaining things. He also includes many extras that go beyond the scope of the exam. Highly recommended

I had a great experience with Drone Pilot Academy. Everything was explained thoroughly before any actions and moved alone at a comfortable pace. Highly recommended for drone training in Northern Ireland.

Robert is a fantastic instructor, he was with us from start to finish with this process. His knowledge has greatly benefited our pilots and ourselves as a business. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get CAA approval.

I have just completed my drone training followed by a written and practical test. The process is as fast (or slow) as required, i was not ever put under pressure to complete the on-line training. Robert provided an excellent level of support throughout and was flexible to suit our requirements.
Robert is personable and easy to deal with, I enjoyed the experience and learnt a great deal which has enabled me to be as well prepared as possible before deploying my drone.

Excellent course. Mainly online but Robert there to assist whenever needed. You can work at your own pace and you are fully supported with well prepared course material. I had an aim to complete the course quickly and was able to do so without problem even with my very hectic travel life.

This has been an amazing challenge for myself but with the supprt and training from Robert this has made the experience more enjoyable and less stressful, Robert has a fantasic teaching ethic and even with the most nerves students he sets you at ease and delivers a fantasic training course.

Robert is great to work with, knowledgable and backed up by the vast expertise and experience of 3ic. The online course is well done and you can do it in your own time (within reason) with Robert and the rest of 3ic on hand for any questions. The Assessment itself is kept relaxed, but making sure you're able to do everything safely, as per what was learned in the online course.

Highly recommended to anyone seeking to get CAA aerial permission.

Excellent Course from start to finish, done the online modules at my own pace online.
When I completed it, I was put in contact with my flight assessor Robert who was extremely helpful with any queries I had.
Met Robert on the day of my assessment at a local hotel where he had met me in reception and took me to a private room where I done my theory test,
Once passed the theory I was taken to the site where I had to do my flight assessment. Robert put me completely at ease and had a cordoned off area already set up upon our arrival.
Once that was completed I was told what would happen next ( applying to CAA )
I couldn’t recommend this course highly enough
