Initial problems filing a claim.

Due to technical problems with entering my claim online (after numerous attempts), I contacted customer service via phone and obtained the email for sending my claim using that method. Two days later I was contacted with a claim number. From that point it was smooth sailing. My claim was processed and resolved to my satisfaction within a reasonable period of time.

They collect payment but don't pay out claims!

I had two pets insured with Fetch for over 5 years. They are very good at taking payment every quarter, but that's where it ends when it comes to their capabilities.

One of my pets, the cat, unfortunately passed away in the summer of 2025 from old age. He was insured with Fetch for about 4 years at that point, never filed a claim. Upon his passing, I informed Fetch and the following month, the cat was removed from my Dashboard, hence I assumed they successfully cancelled the insurance. In the spring of 2026, I reviewed my credit card statements and low and behold, I see that Fetch kept charging me the premium for the cat for two more quarters. When I called, they claimed they never knew about the passing of the cat. Why then was the cat removed from my Dashboard the month following his passing, I wonder?

The dog has been insured with Fetch since he was a puppy. Every year, he went to his annual vet check-ups. Fetch knows every vet he's ever been to. We never had to file a claim for him as he's been healthy this entire time. At age 5, he developed an issue, appears to be harmless luckily and we caught it early enough for him to fully recover but it did create the first claim we had to file. It wasn't much, a few hundred dollars but hey, that's what we have this insurance for after all. Guess what, they denied the claim due to "incomplete health records". They want me to go to every vet and ask for the detailed health records. Again, the dog was insured literally from since he was 8 weeks old, never had to file a claim, and Fetch is aware of every single vet he has ever been to. What do I pay Fetch for if they make me do all the work?

I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance and considering legal action - not for the money but out of principle. They collect premiums but don't want to hold up their end of the deal and someone needs to put a stop to that. If you are in a similar situation and can't find a solution with Fetch, look up your state's Department of Insurance and make sure to file a claim - that's the only way to stop such behavior.

Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to reach out and share your experience with us. We're sorry to hear about the passing of your cat. Losing a pet is never easy, and we appreciate you trusting us with his care for all those years. We're also sorry for the distress and frustration caused by the cancellation issue and the subsequent charges. Regarding your dog's first claim, we understand your frustration. When your pet has been healthy and insured with us since puppyhood, having a claim put on hold for missing documents can feel defeating—especially when you are just trying to use the coverage you've faithfully paid for. To help make this process as easy as possible for you, please know that we are already on it. Our team has actively reached out to all of the veterinarians we have on file for your dog to gather the necessary historical medical notes directly, so you don't have to do the heavy lifting. Once we receive those files, we will work to get this claim finalized as quickly as possible. If there happens to be any other veterinary clinic your dog has visited that we might not have listed on your account, please reply to this email or give us a call to let us know. We will gladly reach out to them directly on your behalf. We are here to help get this sorted out for both of your pets. Thank you again for your patience as we work to make this right.

Joshua Sabado solved a complex policy question for me quickly, clearly, and without any of the runaround you often get on insurance calls. That level of service is a big part of why I keep choosing Fetch for my pet insurance, it makes the difference when it actually matters.

Fetch doesn’t calculate claims properly

I am a Canadian, holding a Canadian policy but my cat has to see a specialist in the US. We have been going to BluePearl for 2-3 years now and are paying our invoices in US dollars. However, every single time I submit a claim with Fetch, even though I include a note reminding them that the claim amount needs to be properly calculated and converted from US dollars to Canadian dollars they always assume that the invoice amount is in CAD dollars and cover me for 80% of that, resulting in me calling them every time over and over again, having to explain that, only to result in another claim reassessment every time and more waiting ( at least another 30 days) to reimburse me for the currency exchange rate amount. It’s been years of having this issue with Fetch and they still haven’t found a way to correct it, even though I have brought it to their attention countless times! Very frustrating, having to call them every single time they make a mistake and being constantly under reimbursed or not paid out correctly! I gave them so many chances to fix the problem before I wrote this review but they still haven’t fixed it to date!

Hi Ilina, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and thank you for being a loyal member with us here at Fetch for so many years. We understand your frustration to proactively include notes on your submissions, only to have to call in and explain the currency difference between US and Canadian dollars every single time. Please know that I will be sharing your experience directly with our claims leadership team so we can review why this is being missed and work on a smoother, more reliable process for you moving forward. We appreciate you working with us here at Fetch.
