I highly recommend Karen Mann and her team at Hodge Jones & Allen. I was involved in a car accident where I was unable to get the other driver's number plate, which made the situation very stressful.... See more

Sarah and Ruchi dealt with my case after an accident at my workplace. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They were with me every step of the way during the process, even contacting me after a serious operation with genuine concern. I would honestly say they went above and beyond to help me through what was a very difficult time. Considering the fact that I wasn't going to make a claim at all,the outcome has been very beneficial. 5* highly recommend these guys
I am incredibly grateful to Shyan MacTavish for her outstanding support during a very stressful time. From the very beginning, Shyan approached my case with the utmost professionalism and deep expertise. Everything was handled incredibly efficiently, smoothly, and without any delays. What meant the most to me was that she was there to help at every single moment, always keeping me informed throughout the process. I would also like to thank barrister Honor Fitzgerald, who represented me at the hearing. Together, they form a brilliant and dedicated team. I highly recommend Shyan's services to anyone in need of top-tier legal representation. Thank you so much!
Repeated failures, poor complaint handling and serious concerns about accessibility
I contacted Hodge Jones & Allen LLP on several occasions seeking legal assistance, making clear that I required written communication by email because of my disabilities.
My enquiries of 18 and 29 June 2026 were not properly progressed due to internal handling failures. A further email sent directly to a partner on 8 July was also overlooked.
These are not simply allegations. HJA subsequently acknowledged the failures in its complaint correspondence, apologised and confirmed that it had reviewed its internal processes.
However, acknowledging mistakes is not the same as adequately resolving their consequences.
I had to spend considerable time chasing responses, reconstructing correspondence, explaining matters repeatedly and pursuing a formal complaint. This created additional administrative and disability-related difficulties while I was seeking assistance with time-sensitive legal matters.
I was particularly dissatisfied with the firm’s treatment of my concerns about accessible communication. Email was not merely a personal preference; it was a disability-related requirement that I had expressly communicated.
My concerns have continued into subsequent correspondence. When responding to a potential Equality Act claim concerning access to its services, HJA relied upon the Pre-Action Protocol for Professional Negligence, despite my expressly identifying a statutory disability discrimination claim. I have requested an explanation of why that procedure was considered appropriate.
I recognise that a dispute about the applicable procedure does not, by itself, establish wrongdoing. Nevertheless, the repeated need to clarify the nature of my concerns has further undermined my confidence in the firm’s handling of the matter.
I was not represented by HJA, and this review concerns its enquiry process, accessibility and complaint handling rather than the quality of legal representation.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the firm. I expected accurate communication, accessible service and a meaningful response when things went wrong. Unfortunately, my experience fell substantially below those expectations.
I just cannot praise Emily and previously, Bethany, enough. This has been a very worrying and heartbreaking time for our family. Without giving personal details, Emily has not only been an amazing support for myself and a young family member, but she has given us strength, hope, assurance, faith, trust, honesty, and clarity in all of her communication with us, and in representations of our case. I cannot recommend Emily enough and therefore Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors. Thankyou Emily for all you do.
I phoned Hodge Jones & Allen after being arrested and given a court appearance date 3 weeks from when I phoned them. All details were taken and I was told that someone would call me back before the court date. It was now the day before the court hearing so I phoned them. Someone said that my case had not been allocated to anyone and that they did not know if anyone would be attending the court the following day, however someone would call me by the next morning before court to let me know what was happening. Well, no call and they did not appear. The judge was not happy that I had received no legal advice and was asking for an adjournment. The Judge almost suggested I had just not bothered to get legal advice. The case was adjourned for one week. I emailed Hodge Jones & Allen explaining this and asked if they could confirm by email that it was there fault and not mine that I had not received legal advice. Two weeks later, they have not replied. They used to be one of the top firms, but now, they really rank amongst the worse.
Extremely disappointing and dismissive intake process for a vulnerable client
I contacted Hodge Jones & Allen’s housing team regarding a complex social housing disrepair, safety, and protocol matter involving my housing association.
Despite explaining that I am a medically vulnerable tenant, that an expert witness surveyor report has already been completed, and that the landlord's solicitors (Devonshires) have issued formal Pre-Action Protocol correspondence requiring a specialist legal response, the call handler was completely uninterested.
She offered zero empathy, refused to listen to the actual details of the case, and repeatedly interrupted me while attempting to apply a rigid, cookie-cutter disrepair checklist. When I tried to explain the severe impact on my health, estate security failures, and ongoing statutory breaches, I was met with complete indifference and told to just go to the Housing Ombudsman.
For a firm that advertises itself as a leader in tenant rights and social housing litigation, treating a vulnerable person seeking legal assistance with such condescension and lack of basic professional courtesy is deeply disappointing. I would not recommend their intake service to anyone dealing with complex housing issues.
Unacceptable, condescending, and plain rude. I poured my heart out a d inwas in tears explaining the severe impact on my health, and detailed the complete breakdown of safety in my home, only to be met with dead silence and a robotic "computer says no" response, is deeply upsetting.
I was trying to explain a complex, painful situation that has pushed me to breaking point, and she treated it like a minor inconvenience on a checklist
Don't Call Us, We'll Call You, Only please don't call this solicitors firm if you expect to speak to a kind, caring and understanding person in your moment of sheer desperation and need.
I can not recommend HJA enough, if you are in doubt then be reassured in choosing to use their services. Not only did they win my case against all odds, their level of professional, friendly, and very thorough conduct was beyond my expectations and they did not cut corners in doing the work I believe because they were so invested in getting a good outcome because they were genuinely invested in my cause.
Karen was fantastic. They really helped push the best care via the compensation and were measured in their approach.
Absolutely amazing lawyers, top service, and amazing people. What else can I say, that's all you really want.
We are incredibly grateful to Karen for all the help and support she gave my mum following an injury she suffered in a large retailer’s store. From the very beginning, Karen was kind, compassionate and understanding, and she made what was a difficult and stressful situation much easier for my mum and our family.
Karen guided us through the whole process, kept us informed and was always approachable and reassuring whenever we had questions. Most importantly, we always felt that she genuinely cared about my mum and achieving the right outcome for her.
We are extremely pleased with the outcome and cannot thank Karen enough for everything she did. We would wholeheartedly recommend her and the firm to anyone looking for professional, caring and dedicated legal support.
Hodge Jones & Allen managed my case for 5 years in total and I could not be more appreciative to them for all their hard work, professionalism, constant updates & getting us to the finish line. In particular Araba was handling my case & I can not speak highly enough of her as a person and all that she has done for me during the last 5 years. A fantastic company, wonderful team of people & I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs their services. I couldn't have asked for more from them and I am incredibly happy with the outcome of my case.
I’m very pleased with the service I received from Hodge Jones & Allen. Communication was excellent throughout, they arranged everything for me and kept me informed at each stage. Most importantly, they successfully won my case. I’m very happy with the outcome and would definitely recommend their services.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Marina Afzal-Khan for all her help and support. From the very beginning, Marina made me feel comfortable and completely at ease. She was incredibly helpful, patient and professional, and her advice was always clear and easy to understand.
I really appreciated the way she took the time to explain everything properly and answer my questions, as this made what could have been a stressful situation feel much more manageable. I always felt listened to and supported throughout the process.
Most importantly, with Marina’s guidance and support, I was able to achieve the outcome I wanted. I’m extremely grateful for everything she did and would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs help and reassurance.
Thank you again, Marina — your support genuinely made a difference!

Sarah went above and beyond and handled my affairs with real professionalism and genuine empathy. She took the time to explain things clearly and always made me feel heard. I'd recommend her without hesitation.
Very professional and attentive experience being given legal aid from Amy Coulter of Hodge Jones & Allen solicitors. Will advise of any other person with similar issues to use this company and solicitor.
I worked with a few people but Bethany was a great help. Always very informative it was great to have someone like her support me all the way. I'm very appreciative! They made what was a very stressful time a lot easier to deal with.
I am very grateful to Usheena and her team for supporting me throughout my personal injury claim over almost two years. Usheena has been exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and, importantly for me, genuinely warm and understanding.
Dealing with post-concussion syndrome has meant that at times I have struggled to manage everything as I normally would. Having someone who was patient, listened carefully and guided me through the process with such care made a real difference.
I always felt that I was in safe hands and that my situation was genuinely understood. I am extremely happy with the excellent result Usheena achieved for me, in my personal injury claim and would wholeheartedly recommend her and her team.
From the very first contact with Leticia we felt listened to, given information that was really helpful, organised a barrister, doctors and nothing was ever to much trouble. We felt we could contact them at any time if we were unsure of anything and they took the time to explain.
