It used to be a better, well priced service, with people you could actually talk to. It is now bot-heavy, and impossible to get a response via email, or chat, or phone call. They renewed our subscriotion that we did not want, we asked them immediately to cancel, and they said they cannot refund. Its become clear they care only about keeping your money and not providing quality in return.

Fast turnaround time on my one-time legal matter. Will use again

They were quick and helpful and once I advised them of additional urgency they did a good job turning round the advice while still ensuring to raise the appropriate details to my attention. Would use them again.

Lawpath was amazing in connecting me to an experienced commercial lawyer. It was easy, fast and I had a great outcome on the back of it.

I have setup my business with Lawpath and only to discover legal help via subscription which I was able to try through a free call with a lawyer who helped me setup good foundations for my business. If you are just starting out and have questions this is a no brainer.

I cannot recommend Anja Pich highly enough.
I came to her during an incredibly stressful and difficult situation, and from the beginning she made me feel supported, informed and in safe hands. Her communication was clear, practical and reassuring, and she took the time to explain things in a way that helped me understand my options without feeling overwhelmed.
What stood out most was her calm, thoughtful and strategic approach. She handled everything with professionalism, care and excellent judgment, while still being genuinely kind and human. After a poor experience with another lawyer, working with her was a completely different experience. She restored my confidence and made a horrible situation feel far more manageable.
I am very grateful for her guidance, responsiveness and the way she advocated for me. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a lawyer who is clear, capable, compassionate and highly professional.

Her communication was clear, reliable, and professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommend!”

3 years in and I'm still a happy customer. I came to Lawpath because I needed business contracts sorted without the back and forth of going through a lawyer every time. It delivered. The platform is really easy to use, everything moves quickly, and it just works!

Any positive review for this company is a lie. This company is a complete scam. I applied to start a company through them, as they promised fast results. Their AI got the wrong address and submitted this to ASIC, we informed Lawpath who then wanted $300 to correct their mistake, I did it free of charge through ASIC. ALL of their company documents had the wrong address on them so we cancelled their service and was promised a refund due to their incompetence. This was never forthcoming!! Trying to contact this company is like "Mission Impossible" all calls get farmed off to an OS call centre whose only script is we will get a team member to contact you. Again this is never forthcoming. I have over 20 attempts to contact this company in 2 weeks. To add injury to insult they automatically set up up on a subscription service for their "ongoing service" to you. If this is their "service Im glad I spotted their scam and cancelled it. Use another company this company needs to learn how to treat customers correctly.
The same story as in all other reviews. Last year I applied for their assistance in setting up an ABN. By the time they were asking me questions I've done it myself and requested to refund me money back. Which obviously has never been done! This year I was charged $199 so some subscription which I was not aware of! I haven't started my business with them, the job has never been done! Moreover, they have charged me money from the card which has expired! They just suggested the new expiry date (which is not complicated) and took money from my card. The pure fraud!
Greedy and unethical business model. Masquerading as a legal service with no legal credibility (read the fine print). They offer nothing that a LLM can't do for free.
Do not use their subscription service. Their service is none existent. Their chat bot says their customers service team members will usually respond within a few hours! For an Australian company during business hours! Their customer service line leaves you on hold for more than 30 minutes then hangs up on you. Their website fails when you try to cancel your subsription.
Do not use. Avoid at all costs. Trapped into another year.
I originally bought the essentials plan after a few calls with a sales rep. Thought it would be good to setup initial policies for my business. I didn't end up using the plan. As they offered such a large discount up front, I thought, that's fine, will keep access for the year to see if I need it in the future. I hadn't logged in since the original purchase. The renewal came up. I emailed to explain I wanted to cancel. They explained that they were unable to process a cancellation via email or cancel the plan on their side. If I wanted to cancel I would have to log in to my account to hit the request a cancellation button. Where they take you through several screens of 'please don't go'. Offering more and more discounts until you eventually are able to cancel. I admittedly didn't log in to cancel this until a couple of days after the renewal date, as their email response went to my junk folder. They had also already taken the direct debit at the full price (Circa $500 AUD). I wrote to request the full refund. As I hadn't used it for a full year and have no reason to use again for another year - no hard feelings etc etc. I didn't think that this would be an issue. Thinking that a fair, reasonable and legitimate business would see the common sense in this, and certainly not trap their customers into another annual subscription. I was mistaken. They are just after your money. They explained as per their terms and conditions, I am not entitled to a full refund. 'This matter is now settled.'
I wrote to the two founders, CEO and Head of Marketing - 3 times, in good faith, to explain and to see if this was a mistake, and appeal to common sense. Can we turn this relationship around. I was ignored on all accounts.
I then found multiple reviews with a similar story. They are here to make money. Not help small businesses.
After I was directed to their Terms and Conditions when denied my full refund. I also noticed that buried in their T&C's were 3 clauses.
Directly taken from Lawpath Terms & Conditions available on their website:
(lawpath.com.au / terms-and-conditions)
'Lawpath is not a law firm, is not engaging in legal practice and does not offer any legal services. Nothing provided by Lawpath is legal advice and you cannot rely on it. You should always consult a Legal Professional to get certainty of your legal rights and obligations.'

I've done my best here to take the emotion out of this and just present the facts.
Do what you will with these facts.
I knew that if I was going to do this, it would be a 12-month commitment with no cancellation. I understood that and before having access to the portal, I thought it was a great concept. But it is only after you secure your subscription that you see how it is filled with extra fees, locked-in subscriptions, useless features, and an annoying cancellation process.
You get access to templated legal documents, basic AI assistance, and 30-minute consults with lawyers. THAT is all you get for one thousand six hundred and sixty-eight dollars (yearly). The templates are scaffolds you still have to fill out yourself, the AI is worse than FREE ChatGPT, and you don't even have an actual lawyer—anything beyond that 30-minute simple chat costs MUCH extra ON TOP of your subscription. Oh, and so many other extra fees like 50 dollars to create an ABN, which is free to do yourself and takes 10 minutes.
So you're paying over sixteen hundred dollars a year for:
Document templates you customize yourself
AI that's inferior to free alternatives
A phone call limit with lawyers who aren't actually YOUR lawyers
This isn't a legal service subscription. You don't have ongoing representation, you don't have a lawyer on retainer, you don't have someone who knows your business. You have expensive access to templates and brief consultations that reset every month. That's it.
These days, you can do all this with AI and MUCH better and for FREE. Try GPT, GROK, CLAUDE, GEMINI, COPILOT, QWEN, DEEPSEEK, etc.—they can provide basic legal advice, basic legal scaffolds, and basic consult. And that is all Lawpath is (and worse); BASIC features for over SIXTEEN HUNDRED dollars a year.
They don't let you cancel by yourself. All it does is submit a cancellation request, and then a week later someone from Lawpath tries to call you and you have to go through this process to cancel. Shouldn't there be consumer protection laws against this? Shouldn't there be a way to just click on the cancellation page: 'No, I do not want to consult, just cancel'? Is this not technically illegal in AUS?
I emailed them saying: 'I confirm my cancellation, go through with it please, do not contact me again.' A customer service representative responded saying I had only paid three of four payments and if I went through with the cancel (which I don't know how I was supposed to do without their explicit consent), then it would be an extra fee more than I already APPARENTLY owed.
But I knew I had paid ALL FOUR payments. I went to my CommBank app, searched "LawPath," and there it was: ALL 4 payments. I sent him the screenshot via email, and then I got another email saying my support ticket had closed?
I thought that meant he realized his mistake, felt embarrassed, closed the ticket, and cancelled my plan. Wrong. I got an email from a senior staff member at Lawpath saying my subscription was set to renew next month—blah blah Black Friday sale blah blah. I instantly emailed her telling her I wanted to cancel, and she was the first normal person on the Lawpath team who finally went through with it.
To the Lawpath team, if you respond to this review, I have a question: What exactly justifies the $1,668 annual subscription cost? Can you break down what subscribers are actually paying for?
Help us understand the value proposition, because from my experience, all we're getting here is the privilege of paying more.
Applied for a simple ABN but their website didn’t allow for not-for-profit organisations so I created a support ticket and asked if the ABN would attached to our business name. Was told it would be but guess what, it wasn’t. Now they are refusing to refund and told me to take it up with the ATO. Would not recommend them at all, rude and basically unable to even provide a simple ABN. Constantly trying to sell you services you don’t need as well.
I started a business early April, did some online searching and they popped up.. they had someone call me and set up my abn etc(accountant had to find missing docs afterwards).
They continually tried to sell me all types of different services, this went on for months afterwards. I specifically said I DID NOT want a subscription as I did not need the services.
Some 5 months later I get charged $498 and see that im signed up to not 1 but 2 plans after STRESSING with them that I did not want these services.. plans totalling $700. Just taken from my credit card.
I am furious!
This is an overpriced chatgpt with human chitchat that takes nowhere. I lost opportunities due to their lack of reactivity and responsiveness.
