The Reader Has No Choice And Does Not Matter

Mills and Boon is owned by Harlequin Enterprises HarperCollins Publishers LTD 1 Robroyston Gate, Robroystin, Glasgow Scotland. I was looking for one of their books, which for some reason are difficult to get a hold of. But was unable to locate a copy anywhere. Even though it was published several years ago there wasn't a copy to be found. When I contacted Mills and Boon I was told that they had switched from the physical paper form books to the more lucrative ebook format. This becoming more trendy. Especially if you can convince and control gullible people (readers) that this format is more desirable. Unfortunately like most of the market ebooks are controlled by Amazon which has a monopoly on most of the market. And even if you prefer the traditional paper books, sources such as Kobo, Barnes and Noble and Google Play Books can't get piece of the ebook market because of Amazon. To say this is frustrating is an understatement. Should a copy become available, the book that I am looking for is called the Hookup/The Sex Cure by Anne Marsh.

Unusable

Thought I would try this out. Went and bought a book and I am unable to read it. You have to download an app called glose. After an hour of trying to get the damn thing to work I give up. Not worth the hassle. Back to amazon I go!

Shame 1* is the lowest you can go ...
Having paid to have an eReader where I can have all my books in 1 place when on holiday, Mills and Boon have "screwed" their readers and moved their eBooks to a platform which means I would have to take 2 devices on holiday.
The new platform is Glose but I think "Gross" is a better name for it as you have the choice of using a laptop or your phone, neither of which you can see the screen in sunlight ... guess what ... you can with an eReader, so reading round the pool is out of the window.
They have not considered their reader base and made a really poor move.

Mum read and reviewed Regency Whispers…

Mum read and reviewed Regency Whispers 2. Favourably, this time.

"Scandalous Matches" , by Laura Martin, is a great improvement on RW1 "The Wallflower Academy", by Emily E.K. Murdoch. Two very readable stories sith strong characters and plot lines.

Mills & Boon do not consider customers

I have been purchasing eBooks from Mills & Book for years and using a KOBO ereader to do so. I went to download books to my ereader (using Adobe Digital Editions) yesterday that I had purchased in December 23, March 24 & yesterday as I was running out of books. i have discovered that they have moved across to using the Glose App which is fundamentally useless as you can only use the IOS or Android app on your phone/tablet/computer, this means either trying to read on a small screen or something heavy and unwieldy. Battery life is excellent on an ereader not so much on my phone and I certainly do not want to sit with my laptop on the beach becasue reflection alone means you can't see anything. i want some thing that is portable and ereaders are designed specifically for this purpose. I am extremely angry & disappointed as I now have to repurchase all of the books circa 30 of them from elsewhere that's if I want to be associated with M&B ever again because they certainly haven't considered customer requirements.

Out of pocket.

Took out a 3 month prepaid subscription as a present for my Nan. It was not obviously advertised that it automatically continues after the 3 months prepaid ends and you have to manually cancel it yourself. They took £65 from my account and have not responded to my email as of yet. Completely sneaky and obviously trying to rip customers off. I feel very let down after trying to do something nice for my elderly Nan.

Never received the ebook.

I bought an ebook from them via my mobile, created an account as instructed but never received the book. I rang their office (no one monitors the email they give as a contact) and spoke to a nice lady who FINALLY found my order. It was to be passed to the Web department to organise the download but a week later and nothing has appeared. They definitely need to review their technology. Stick to the printed versions.

Mills and boon blueflyer reader app is…

Mills and boon blueflyer reader app is appalling. Impossible to download ebooks purchased via millsandboon and cannot be read on any other device. Avoid and purchase on any other platform, advice they give to overcome problems is out of date and related to apps they no longer use.

mills and boon subscription service online

i would have given no stars if it was available. i have bought books from mills and boon for over 20 years. first i recently took out a 3 month subscription with the correct details which i paid in advance. about 4 weeks into this i found out that their system had failed by sending parcel to the wrong address as it added different address to my account address, in a different town with my postcode. bogs the mind how this actually got delivered by the courier but it did. i phoned m&b who were extremely unhelpful and told me to put it in an email which i did on monday past. i stated the above and theresponse i got was that i put in a wrong address myself (who would do that?) but in good faith they would refund me. i had actually cancelled my subscription by this stage and the response from them was that they had cancelled my susbcription i had already done and they would refund my last 2 months (not 3) within a few weeks. i told them they were responsible to stop the delivery. however today i received an email from the courier that they had again delivered to the wrong address so m&b never corresponded with them to stop the delivery which they had 5 DAYS to do, but chose not to. of course they do not work the weekends. i have found their company insulting in their response. i would not want anyone else to be caught out by this company's methods. ln early April my debit card could not be updated on their website because their website is unstable and of course they treated me like a stupid child who could not update a card, how do they think i use amazon and ebay. at no time in this experience have they taken the time to update their system, let alone query their actions in this matter, it makes you angry when you are insulted by the company you have bought books from for over 20 years. i will state this company was better before they went online with their subscriptions. i will confirm that their mercandise is good but their customer service is not great unless all they have to do is take payment for an order for you, as you can buy elsewhere the same products
