Stay away
Stay away. Brutal customer service- they promise to call back and never do, they don't care if your hot water is out for 5+ days. Over the course of the contract it costs more than 3 times the value of the appliance, and they increase fees annually by 3.5%. There is no benefit to renting if the service is terrible. The contract is criminal. DON'T DO IT.
AVOID!!!!!
I agreee wholeheartedly with all the bad reviews. My 10 year contract magically became a 15 year contract. I had to pay $1500 to these thieves to get out of 5 more years. Read your contract carefully. I inherited this from previous owners who obviously didn't read the contract. They just settled a class action lawsuit for 17 million dollars, but I'm sure they haven't changed their ways. Why are crooks like this allowed to do business?
Avoid at all costs!
Would give this company a zero if possible - do not deal with them.
They refuse to provide record of payment and have assigned an arbitrary cost that they can not back up with any actual bills. Their website also does not allow you to access any account information, it just tries to redirect billing to Enbridge.
Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS
There are class action lawsuits against…
There are class action lawsuits against this Company for which they have settled and are paying out. Please do your own research before doing business with Simply Green / Crown Crest Capital.
I had an AC with Simply Green / Crown Crest Capital - I assumed the contract when I purchased my house. My AC stopped working during the summer so I called Simply Green for servicing since I was paying a monthly rental. A technician came out and told me that it was a bigger repair so the Company would call me back to schedule an appointment. After not hearing back, I called multiple times to follow up. I was then told that my contract expired a couple months prior so they would not service my AC. Simply Green did not stop taking rental payments from my account or notify me that I had fully paid off the equipment. Since I was still paying a rental, I questioned the company what I was paying for if not for servicing? The customer service agent said that they do repairs if you are near the beginning of the contract but not if in the later part of your rental contract. I was completely taken aback by this response. This is contrary to why people enter into rental contracts - for financial reason and /or also peace of mind if something goes wrong. To not notify a customer that their equipment was paid off, continue to take money from a customer's account and then refuse servicing is unethical practice.
As a result, I ensured the Company stopped taking money from my account and also decided to buy out my humidifier contract given that you won't get what you're paying for with your rental fee. The buyout invoice came with 2 options. The first option included a $275 charge to discharge security interest Simply Green / Crown Crest Capital have against my property because of the rental contract. I paid to have the security discharged by the Company rather than me having to find a lawyer to do this myself (the alternative described). I filled out the discharge forms as instructed and awaited my discharge certificate which was to be received within 45 days. 60 days had passed so I followed up with the Company for my discharge certificate. They asked me to provide a registration number which I knew nothing about. I told them that I had already filled out the form and I didn't know what the registration number was as I could not find it on my contract. The Company said that if I could not find the number, they could do a search for me to determine IF I had a security interest against my property but if they did a search and I did not have a security interest then I could not get a refund for the $275 I paid because this covers the cost of their search. I questioned why I was sent a quote to discharge my security interest if it didn't exist. The agent I was talking to via email (I tried calling but was told that department does not have a number) offered me a refund which I elected to take and am now awaiting for a cheque in the mail. Had I not followed up for my discharge certificate, I would have paid $275 for what looks to be absolutely nothing.
This Company operates with a foundation of dishonesty and scare tactics.
Avoid - Unethical Practice
Avoid: Crown Crest Capital affiliated.
Signed 10 year contract for a water heater. They confirmed last year as of Oct 1 2025 the water heater was ours & end of contract. Today I called and they advised we have a 15 year contract. They said we need to prove we had a 10 year contract luckily we did. Seems like very shady business practices.
Contract magically went from 10 years…
Contract magically went from 10 years to now 15 years. Asked for contract multiple times and cannot/havent/wont produce one as wanted to payout and cancel. Google Class action lawsuit settlement for simply green, its in effect for this company. Limited time to file for settlement. 5 companys all under simply green umbrella. Avoid this company. over 10x the amount by the time youre done contract. SCAM!
On renting contract with Simplygreen…
On renting contract with Simplygreen for water heater. No show for maintenance. And now the water tank is liking. Technician came saying that it needs to be replaced, and then no follow up. Nothing happen for 3 days. Still waiting, I called every day and nobody can give me a follow-up. Inconvenient situation because I am legally attached to them, so I could not event get another company to get a new water heater as soon as possible.

Had a water tank rental and after 8 months of calling 20times they would not transfer ownership when the house was sold and continued to debit my account.
Escalation to mamagement went on deaf ears and would. It even give me the time of day to respond to my emails or phone calls!!
ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE COMPANY
Wish we could give 0 star for this company. We have had probably 30 calls over the last 4 years. Their manager promised if heat breaks down during winter, they provide hotel accommodation. Our heat broke down during Christmas for almost two weeks. We made several calls every day. They kept promising a call back from a manager BUT NO ONE CALLED BACK till now. Our hot water has temperature and pressure issues. Our Account Manager promised that he would with us and help resolve issues. It's been over a week. Despite several calls and emails, he's now hiding.
We are stopping to pay effective immediately and will not pay until they resolve issues.
Horrible
Horrible! I can’t even put into words how bad this company is. NEVER fall for their scheme! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Terrible Company
Worst company I’ve ever dealt with.. never return calls on time. You have to literally chase them down if you want them.. I had a leak in their hot water tank it took 3 weeks for them to replace it and a month later no hot water.. and it took days to chase them down to come and look at it…they should not be in business!!
I got pulled into a 15 years water…
I got pulled into a 15 years water heater contract with Simply Green by purchasing a townhome from a developer. Was told nothing can be done in the first 10 years including option to upgrade to tankless heater or downsizing the heater. In order to get out of the contract, I have to essentially prepay all the monthly rental charges which is about 30% more expensive than what I paid for the rental water heater at my old house. Reps were not helpful, often being put on long hold and call was dropped after long wait. I requested talking to management. Rep said management was busy but would return call within 24 hours but no one called back after 4 days. There is an input form to submit request at their website which doesn't work. I don't understand why Ontario would allow such a company to continue to operate in this province.
Horrible!!!
Recent? Ongoing since 2016. What looked like a gov site was a scam, which we were not aware of until the woman at Simply Green told me I had no access to what the final amount would be. Why? I asked. She responded with... if clients knew how much they were paying, they'd never buy the products.
A month later we get a notice from titles, a lien for $14,200, which was never discussed or agreed to. End of 2022 we paid already $12,000 for them to tell us we owe another $12,000!
Plus they tried in 2022 to put another lien on the house for $28,000... for the same HVAC system! I phoned them repeatedly, never given a contact # or email for anyone... ever. Threatened with a lawyer and within a month they took it off.
Seller's story line is same as everyone else.
When that $15,000 is reached I am stopping payment at the bank. Have proof with bank records it was paid.
Very Horrible!
REFUNDS NOT ISSUED
On June 14/23 we went into our branch to find out why $22.59 was debitted from our account every month, in error. Our Branch Manager contacted Simply Green and informed them it was the wrong account number. Contact was made by them to us, two days later. We were going to reimbursed $362.23 in two to three weeks. After contacting them five times, up to Aug. 3/23, we still haven't been mailed a refund cheque. We are always informed that a manager would be contacting us, but nothing has happened. Not Happy !
Worst Service
Worst Service - Tankless hot water heater stopped working - notified first thing in the morning… it’s now 8 pm and nothing has been done except being lied to..
