Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 39 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product and its quality, noting a significant decline in taste and consistency. Customers frequently mentioned that the coffee now tastes watered down, bland, or even unpleasant, with some describing it as tasting like "cheap coffee" or having a "minty chemical taste." Reviewers also expressed strong dissatisfaction with the pricing and value for money, citing instances of "shrinkflation" where product quantities were reduced (e.g., 7 sachets instead of 8 or 10, smaller jar sizes) while prices remained the same or increased. This led many to feel that the company was prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction and that they were no longer getting good value for their money.

If it isn’t broken don’t fix it

I work in a factory and my colleagues and I had latte’s every coffee break but not anymore non of us take sugar and the new recipe is very very sweet. With the government ramming Obesity down your throat and cutting down then you go and up the content of sugar not good we definitely won’t be buying any more unless the old recipe comes back x

Cappuccino absolutely disgusting

Cappuccino absolutely disgusting. I don't think it has been near any coffee. It's just awful, sickly sweet hot milk with a horrible artificial aftertaste. Straight in the bin.
All these packet coffees are going the same way. Its not just Nescafe.

"same great taste" my .......

I have always drunk Nescafé original instant coffee. There have been tweaks to flavour over the years, but the recent change is disgusting. They said there has been no change when I asked. The label says "same great taste". Lies all lies. Think I'll change to tea.

Nescafe Coffee that used to be worth it

Actually terrible originally back when it was all whole beans now its granulated broken half the jar is like dust what is worse than all of that is the fact that at least up to 5 months ago the coffee beans still smelled enticing however now they always smell preburnt everytime such a nasty smell which is half the experience they have severily let me down as a consumer and let themselves down as a company that used to deliver a quality product going elsewhere from now on

I used to swear by Nescafe Gold Blend…

I used to swear by Nescafe Gold Blend and would prefer it above other instant coffees, and i have tried many. Todays Gold Blend is not a patch on the old, and is a wishy washy, weak, tasteless odourless counterfeit of what it was. I used to relish opening up a new jar and the roast coffe aroma was just a prelude to a very decent cup of instant coffee. Alas, no longer!!

OMG New Improved Latte Are You Sure About That???

OMG Nescafé what on earth have you done to Latte’s.
The old recipe Nescafé Gold Latte was a lovely enjoyable coffee that I genuinely looked forward to every day, but oh dear this ‘new & improved latte’
may be new but alas definitely is not improved!!!!, actually the reverse it’s positively disgusting yuk yuk yuk, so sweet god only knows what it would to your daily sugar intake 🫣😲🥴
Bring back the old recipe latte that thousands of your customers love instead of losing your customers, unless of course you can afford to lose them. Come on nestle give yours customers what they want and not a cup of sugared water 🤑🤮

Has Nescafe changed their coffee along…

Has Nescafe changed their coffee along with their label?

I am 53 and have been buying Nescafe Original all my life, I could easily have 10 cups a day, but recently I purchased a 300g large jar of the red-label Nescafe Original, I noticed the label was no longer promoting their competition, which I never entered anyway as you need to have your receipt to show proof of purchase, who keeps or gets receipts nowadays?

Anyway, it says "new look same great taste", well it's anything but. My usual one-and-a-half teaspoonfuls of coffee tastes like hot water, and the smell is very different too, it's just not Nescafe. When I add a little more coffee, it tastes bitter.

I normally buy my coffee at one of the large supermarkets but don't think I did this time, I am pretty sure I picked it up from The Food Warehouse by Iceland as It's the only other shop I go into.

Reading some Trustpilot reviews beforehand, some have suggested that cheaper, inferior coffee that was designed for other markets often gets sold to these discounter stores.

With coffee being so expensive now, I do not know whether to bin it and buy another elsewhere, try another brand or just it give up altogether.

Completely different

New look latte and caramel latte both taste very similar now, latte is definitely sweeter than the previous gold. Sachets are not as easy to tear across for an easy pour into mug. Labelling on the sachets is unclear. Having been buying these for a long time I am looking for a suitable replacement.

A lost customer

I have used the latte sashes for some time now, but I see Nestle have launched a new rebranded product.
The new pack has a change of recipe, much sweeter and less coffee, not as good a product as the old one.

Why has Nescafé Cap Columbia changed?

Nescafé Gold Blend Cap Colombia has been my favourite coffee for years. Disappointingly, it has changed its character and now leaves a horrid sludgy deposit. As I had a jar from last year, I made mugs of coffee from old and new purchases. Clear black coffee from older jar and sludgy deposit and scum on newer product. Took photos of both and sent to Nescafe for comments. No acknowledgement or explanation from Nescafé. Interestingly, product code on newer jar (starting with 4) shows coffee beans are sourced from a different region of Columbia to the previous jars, which have a product code starting with 3.
I’ll be buying other brands from now on.

Rather confused

I have been buying the different flavour instant latte for years, the individual sachet always had their flavour on so I made a ceramic container and put the sachet together in it, always knowing what flavour I had selected.
Unfortunately, the sachet no longer have their individual flavours on, so if I was to mix them in the pot I would not have any ideal what I had selected. The boxes are taking up a lot more storage space, I can't understand why this action has been taken, it really doesn't make sense to me at all.

Reformulated? Tastes terrible!

This product has been a staple in my house for more than ten years, and considered it a premium instant coffee. We go through about 150g a month, so I buy this product regularly, and even got my entire extended family hooked on it.

About a month ago I bought a new jar and instantly (pun intended?) thought something was off on aroma, and was even more disappointed ont taste: dirty, low quality, malted, cooked, almost like it was blended with their dark roast. It’s no longer roasted, toasted and nutty like the original version.

I noted the packaging changed too, which normally isn’t a big deal; products often get a facelift for a variety of reasons, but I think they used the opportunity this time to save some money by incorporating a lower quality bean.

I bought a second jar from a different location, just to be sure it wasn’t a fluke, but alas it too is undrinkable.

I’m totally put off and will not be buying this product again. Nestle has lost a long time customer. I would have much rather paid more for the same taste and quality, then be deceived into a less than acceptable cup so the company can try to skim some savings in hopes that consumers won’t notice.

Changed recipe.

Changed recipe.
Weak, watery and sweet yuk
How about going back to the old recipe and stop cutting cost.
Don't try improving when you already HAD a good thing.
Also turn your rewind to left over right so you can get the sache open without spilling the contents.
Sorry will not be buying until the original recipe is returned

New taste of gold blend intense is awful

Been buying the gold blend intense coffee for a good few years now as i love strong coffee and it has a lovely taste until recently. I have it on subscription and noticed the packaging has changed as well as the taste! Omg it’s awful. It’s like a watery sweet perfume taste is the only way I can describe it. I’ve gone back to Kenco.

Please change the taste back to what it was.

Nescafe Latte now watery and yuk

My lovely creamy Nescafe Latte was the highlight of my day. I adored it as a tea break treat. I always stocked up when it was on offer but the last lot I stocked up on was awful! Weak and watery and leaving as nasty after taste just like if you put sugar in it. I now have a stock pile of horrible Lattes and am desperately trying to find another make to change to. On reading other reviews I find I am not alone.
One week after writing this review I tried using 1.5 sachets instead of just the one. It worked a treat and I can now have a lovely latte again, if a bit sweet but at least it tastes of coffee now and not water!
