Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. Complete scammers, chat function doesn’t work so any queries about your policy are not going to be dealt with. I’m trying to cancel my insurance policy because I have sold my car due to illness but I simply cannot cancel it because there’s no function to do so and nobody to speak to. Avoid like the plague.

Was going to be charged an extra £25 a…

Was going to be charged an extra £25 a month for changing the policy detail to include my personal number plate.
What a rip off!
Nutshell say no cost for amendments but charge it through your policy.
By cancelling the policy is cost £76 but saved me over £400 in policy fees over the year.
Avoid!

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service. You can’t speak by phone to a real person for starters, and when you get through to a customer service person eventually they are unable to help you. I was cut off twice, and on my third attempt was cut off after an extremely frustrating conversation. All I wanted to do was add my son to my policy, how hard can that be? They said I was unable to do this until the day of his 17th birthday and not beforehand for this date. Then I asked if I could just have a quote and they started asking me for all my details all over again when I am already insured by them. Good prices but absolutely appalling customer service, avoid

Change of car details

I can’t believe how easy it was to change my car details and it only increased by £4 month. Much better than any other time I have tried to change my car details with an insurer. Still waiting for the catch……

Avoid like the plague. They took money out of my account without my authority under the ruse of looking at renewal prices. Needless to say ill not be renewing with them. Dont trust them

After having a discussion with kirsty the matter has now been resolved.

Dealing with robots and online only can cause problems/misunderstanding.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. Cancelled my policy and will not send a pdf of my 9 years no claim. Will only send an email which is obviously not accepted by any other insurer. Called the one phone line.. gave me a support email address which turned out to be an internal one for Shell Petrochemicals..best comment form the person i spoke to was "we are cheap as we have no customer service"...i don't think they realise the irony of that comment. Also say all documents are available for two years after cancellation.. i could not access them after two days. utterly devoid of service levels and giving a ****

To clarify, proof of your no claims can be downloaded directly from your online account 24 hours after your policy has been cancelled. In addition, the no claims proof we provide is in an acceptable format for insurers. However, some insurers may not accept it depending on how it is presented to them, such as screenshots or formats that could be altered or edited.

Absolutely disgusting customer service…

Absolutely disgusting customer service avoid like the plague, sold my vehicle that I had insured with this company and they are trying to charge me a cancellation fee even though I'd sold the car a month prior, they received a month's insurance premium for nothing and still have the gall to try and get another two months of payments from me in the guise of a cancellation fee! I was also threatened with the debt collectors by the customer service agent so my advice is don't do business with this company and I guess I'll be seeing them in court! I today received a phone call from kirsty with regards to the policy I wanted cancelled and she has given the company a bit of respect back with regards to my experience with nutshell, well done kirsty top marks to you!

Difficult to speak to anyone as only an line service. The online slider to change the start date of car insurance does not work. Not a good start to this new insurer.

Refused insurance...age discrimination

Received renewal letter April 2026 saying they would not offer me renewal insurance.
My details ae exactly the same as previous year and have had no claims, no licence points etc...everything exactly the same except I am 1 year older and now 81...so age discrimination.
Wrote to them asking for explanation....no reply received

I’m not very good at getting insurance…

I’m not very good at getting insurance quotes but I managed to do so with you, there was time I didn’t know how to pay for it and after trying several times I managed to but still not quite sure how I did, I do wish it could be made easier for people like myself who aren’t to good at doing this but I got there in the end. I would so much rather have a person to talk to

Refused to payout and decided to void…

Refused to payout and decided to void my policy, which it took them 3 months to decide upon, absolute cowboys. My car had modifications such as wind deflectors and tinted windows (which were on the car when I purchased it) and aftermarket alloy wheels (I had to replace the wheels due to pothole damage, so replaced on a recommendation from a wheel manufacturer as to the correct safe wheels for the vehicle). AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST
