Great service from Helene at Customer Services. Problems sorted out promptly and efficiently on two separate occasions.
Worst company I've ever dealt with. After switching to People's energy, no one informed me about the need to change the pre-paid meters to normal meters, so I was charged by 2 companies at the same time. I had over £ 60 on pre-paid meters. People's energy will not give me this money back, even though I lost it because of them. Very poor service I do not recommend !!!!
Appalling service and impossible to contact them. I raised a ticket on 27th January which I then added to last week but no response has been received. Tried both chat and phone without success. I held for 68 minutes today and they just hung up.
I wouldn't use this company.
I have tried to speak to someone about moving house, live chat is hopeless as drops out and states we cannot speak to you as we are busy.... Well if you keep this up I'm sure you wont be for long. Also tried to call, ended up listening to some crap Jazz for 20 mins and a woman saying "did you know...." Did you know your customer service is abysmal. this wasn't only one attempt either. i've been trying for 2 weeks to move my bill to my new address. total incompetence..
Had a couple of queries about my bill and spoke to Sam on a live chat. Queries answered efficiently and resolved. No complaints.
Samantha & Callum both really helpful in moving us onto a new tariff and getting our Direct Debits sorted. Always really friendly and helpful - for a small company who have grown a lot in the last year I still think they do a great job at being customer focused and we've not had a negative experience since first signing up nearly 2 years ago.
I spoke to Carly today and she was fantastic, she was very thorough with her questions about our issues and has got them sorted straight away.
This company is completely inept to deal with. Very poor customer service and a person who sounded like they were operating in a live cattle market it was so difficult to hear. Constantly changing the rates of energy provided. DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS.
I recently Contacted These guys about issues Im having with moving property! They took my personal situation into account and helped me the best they could! I spoke with Robyn and she was fabulous!!
Although a bit slow to get through; recently switched and am hoping these will be better than my previous supplier; Vivianne was extremely helpful and quick once I had managed to connect with online chat. Fingers Crossed.... J Legg
Atrocious customer service. Will not be renewing that's for sure. was supposed to get Smart meters installed in Jan. Elec was done but engineer said he was missing a component for gas and somebody would contact me. six weeks later no contact. Called and spoke to Callum after thirty minute wait. he blamed Magnum the engineer's company and said will contact them and call me back. a week later nothing. sent emails. nothing. what's saved in bills is compromised on customer service
Pippa answered my query efficiently on our live chat, and has promised to address the issue with our gas meter readings. I can't say yet whether the problem itself will be resolved as efficiently..
This is my 2nd review! I wish I could give ZERO stars! They're more expensive & don't treat their customers with any respect or care. It's been over 5 months & still no phone call. This company has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They keep emailing me to ask for meter readings which I cannot retrieve & all I want is to cancel my switch. I refuse to pay them a penny until they've called me as I was promised (more than once!) after a cold call months ago. I can't get through to them on the phone either. I've been worried sick about this & can't sleep. I am clinically extremely vulnerable. This whole ordeal has left me ill. No EXAGGERATION. My name is Emma Kaye. You left me a message on my last review. Still no calls though. You tricked a lonely & vulnerable woman. You refuse to engage with me. I will keep writing these honest reviews until you sort this out. Disgraceful. You should be ashamed.
The customer service could not be worse. Been a customer since the beginning. Tarif came to an end and they insisted I would need to speak to someone to change tariff, despite emails to the contrary. Opening hours 9-5 Monday - Friday, explained I worked past these hours. No help given. Raised a complaint that was closed without a response. Bye bye Peoples Energy. Furthermore they respond to these review stating they have made contact, but they don't. Avoid at all costs.
Rang me on Friday and stated that the rate in our area had gone down under a government initiative and if I gave my date of birth would send me a new key for the new rates and I didn’t need to do anything. Not once did they say they were a energy company! I didn’t feel comfortable giving my dob so asked him to call today.
He called back and said the same thing and we got to a new key and I said so you are a energy company yourselves? I had looked online over the weekend to gain this information as again he didn’t say they were a company he just went on about government initiatives again, again he asked for my dob which I wouldn’t give and he said fine if your happy paying more then stay as you are.
I’ve compared their rates with my current provider and my current provider is cheaper, glad I refused.
I feel he did not give true information and would of transferred me over without ever telling me I would of been switching suppliers. From reading the reviews on here I’m glad it never went that far!

Helene quickly resolved issues created during switch over where the wrong meter was assigned. Extremely helpful and efficient.
Love Peoples energy I can’t understand the negative comments on here.. We joined this energy company in June 2020 & couldn’t be happier I like the way I can easily see if we’re still in credit on our account.. Great stuff gettin updated to a smart meter very soon, had a phone call today on behalf of People's Energy to arrange an appointment to have a smart meter fitted.. I went onto live chat to confirm this was a genuine call Samantha joined the chat in less than ten minutes and confirmed that yes they are calling to arrange appointments... So well done Peoples Energy for getting us up to date so soon after joining you..👍😀
Tried to contact Peoples Energy as wanted to cancel the switch which was about to take place as my current provider has undercut them. Unable to get through on the phone, online chat took over 2 hours to get it sorted. It should now be all sorted fingers crossed I receive the email about the switch being cancelled. Not impressed with the customer service and quite glad I'm not switching.
Took over my energy account without speaking to the account holder. Now won’t cancel because I am no longer the bill payer. Rubbish customer service and rude personnel
