Not serious

Attractive prices but ... only for catching customer attention. The Web site confirm that products are available and ready to pick up. But once you've ordered , item is no longer in stock... I tried twice to buy something, and always the same pattern : available in store, but no more once bought. Really not serious.

Dishonest website and waste of time trying to order.

I've had some poor customer service experiences before, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review for a place because I don't think other people should waste their time using this site, despite their prices being advertised as lower than other websites around.

The first time they cancelled my order saying the product was out of stock, but I could have 10% off full priced items in the rest of the store. I was interested in a specific product, so I didn't bother with this. They did apologise and cancel this very quickly to be fair and also remove the item from the store.

But when the item supposedly came back in stock, I placed the order again. It was cancelled again and they told me it was a problem with my bank and I should contact the bank. There was no issue with my bank after checking with them. So I don't understand why sporting life were trying to blame my bank. I've never encountered an issue with using my card before.

They told me a couple of times to try reordering with another card or use paypal despite me having made it clear to them I could not reorder it because it was out of stock now.

If I were to be cynical, I'd suggest that they falsely advertise these sale products to entice you into their web shop and then console you with a 10% voucher. But if we are to give them the benefit of the doubt, they are just very incompetent and don't know how to take an online payment and try and put the blame on you.

Incompetent Customer service

Returning 3 items. Francesco refused a return on one after I had been told when I purchased it that if it did not fit, it could be returned
Exchanged another item for larger size. When I checked at home, Francesco had substituted a different item, same colour. Called store. I was told to check online for what I wanted.
Bottom line: Terrible, incompetent customer service.

Sporting life stole our money!!

Sporting life stole our money!!

I will never buy from this company again. The item we ordered was never delivered. There was no proof of delivery. Dealing with customer service is a joke. It took 2 months of back and forth emails for them to eventially tell us that there was nothing they could do. No Refund. No Item. Nothing. May as well have thrown $200 in the trash.

Horrible service

Horrible service. We bought a gazebo for this summer and it was never delivered. We called Fedex 8th times with horrible service as well. They told us they were waiting for the delivery man’s version. Never got back to us on that… then the company told us that on the report it says delivered so we should call our credit card company to have a refund… anyway, do not order from them. They just don’t care.

The Worst customer service ever

Good Afternoon xxxxxx,
It has now been an additional 2 two weeks with no contact from the Calgary store. Over six weeks since our first correspondence. They are clearly too busy or to apathetic to meet the commitments you are making.

I have no interest in speaking to anyone at the local store level anymore. I’d like to speak to the Regional, District or National Director please. You’ve been lovely but this is, very literally, the worst customer service I’ve ever received. No follow up from you, your manager, the store manager or anyone else. The full onus of trying to drive resolution for a jacket, defective after 2 weeks of ownership left solely to me. I am ashamed to have done any business with such an unprofessional and dismissive organization.

Looking forward to hearing from someone in your Corporate office that is empowered to handle this situation or at least professional enough to speak with a customer.

Sincerely,
xxxx

Sporting Life @ Yorkdale Mall

Sporting Life at Yorkdale Mall have very rude and ill-mannered weekend managers.
I bought a North Face jacket for my 8 year old. In less than 2 months the zipper wasn't working properly, so we took it back asking if we could send it out for repair or if the jacket was eligible for exchange... the staff at the counter were very pleasant and empathetic. But their managers were the worst kind of management. They came with a very negative attitude and telling me my son wore the jacket and ruined it. My son standing next to me was so embarrassed. The she (manager) told me she can send it out for repair, which was fine with us.
A few seconds passed, another manager (male) came to tell me about North Face's limited lifetime warranty and little did he know I had checked that first. North Face has a third party policy, which states the product has to be taken back where it was initially purchased. He then just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry.
So my question to them was, I spent $350 on a jacket and the zipper isn't working properly and you guys won't do anything? They responded saying, "unfortunately we can't do anything".

I had some great experiences with the store managers who work during the week but their weekend managers (female and male both seemed South Asian) were by far the worst customer service managers I have ever met.
I have been purchasing North Face jackets for myself, my husband and son for the last 6-8 years and we have never had an issue because their quality is good. But after this very unfortunate experience at Sporting Life Yorkdale in Ontario, it will be the last time I ever purchase anything from this company.

Being empathetic and kind doesn't cost anything! Speaking to a customer with kindness can go a long way but unfortunately this was not the case here. Now, my son cannot wear this jacket since it does not zip properly and it is freezing out. Sad that my son had to witness how rude and ill-mannered people can be.

1 star is too generous

1 star is too generous . the only person reply email is a guy named Tommy and he is very rude has no customer service manner.

I ordered 3 items and only received 2. He told me they checked and packed so the order is fulfilled . and one of the 2 item I received wasn't even the item style I ordered. I can't return it?in store because the item number does not match my order. it is their fault and he didn't even apologize for the mistakes.

They refuse to send refund or replacement .

The worst customer service ever. Save your time don't order online so you don't have to deal with these craps

This is the 1st time I write a review about a store but my experience was so terrible I want everyone to know. If they get your order wrong they blame you and keep telling you it’s your fault. No customer service at all. I will never order from them again.

Missing items and terrible customer service.

I ordered something difficult to find online and they sent an incomplete order. I emailed them and they kept telling me I look for it inside the item and that they were sorry I "was not able to find" the item suggesting they sent it and I misplaced it. They could not admit their fault. They offered 20 dollars in a gift card, but shipping is 10 dollars and I don't want to support them anymore. They were unhelpful and took a long time to get back to me. Never again.

There was an item missing from my order. It was a low cost item. I contacted Sporting Life and received a reply that said "it was there". So I asked for more info, and also asked what my next step was in perhaps checking with the shipping company. No reply. They aren't interested in helping me find my missing item. I won't be shopping here again.

Really bad online shopping experience

Really bad online shopping experience. Policy and processes do not allow an order to be cancelled, even though the mistake was realized within 2 minutes of placing the order. Unable to phone anyone -- email only ! and even though there was no possible way it was anywhere near the shipping stage, they refuse to cancel. So customer is on the hook to pay for shipping charges. Stay clear of this business !!

DO NOT order from from here

DO NOT order from from here. Poor customer service and return or exchange policy. I should have done more research on this place before placing an online order. Very poor reviews are for a reason. Spare yourself the angst, purchase happily elsewhere.

Horrible customer service no good will

Horrible customer service no good will, no decent behaviour given to customers. How this company has business is beyond me. Simply horrible. Staff here are rude, disrespectful and insulting. There’s no one at this company that has the foresight of customer retention.

I recently bought a pair of sandals for my husband for Father’s Day at sporting life
but I was not able to return them however they did want me to mail them back and pay the shipping charge which I cannot afford so I chose to wait for the stores to open again I was not able to get there because I don’t drive and I have a little eight-year-old and there’s not a sporting life close to my home. Anyways the point is is that they talk to you like a robot that is our policy sorry about your luck I will never shop there again and I cannot say that I got my moneys worth I paid $120 for the sandals and now I’m stuck with them I’ll donate them and maybe somebody can use them at least there’s some good that’ll come out of this story but you will never see me in one of your stores again beware of their policies because they continue repeating their “policy”. )
