Would give them zero points if possible. Found a malfunctioning burner on my stove. Immediately shut off the gas and left. No consideration af my health etc. will never do business with them

NOT reputable service as advertised
NOT reputable service as advertised! Rented tank is tipping over. Called for help and was told may need to wait until tank is emptier BUT they came, filled at maximum rate $5.23 and did NOT fix tank. Called again and was told they will need boom to fix tank BUT no help has come. When they filled tank, they seemed to take the remaining credit in my account to determine maximum rate. Supposed to be on auto fill, but in the past always had to call to get propane. I was paying more than budget so I would not owe money and they increased budget amount to what I was paying then took balance of what I had saved. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I have received call with a reduced rate. They are scheduled to fix tank next week.
We moved into our new house in December…
We moved into our new house in December and the previous owner didn’t transfer the propane service over to us. The only gas appliance in the house is a gas fireplace. We have an engineer drawing up plans for a renovation to include a stove and water heater to the system. In January the tank was empty. We called to get it refilled. We were informed that it would be a minimum of 3 weeks before they could come do something as basic as a refill. I called my cousin in Oneonta, AL who works for a propane company. He said that was ridiculous and that they will almost always show up for a simple inspection and refill within 3 business days - not 3 weeks. Every single time we call we are put on hold and told by a recording that they are experiencing an unusual amount of calls so the wait will be longer than usual . . . except that we have found out that this is a lie - it is NOT unusual but their daily practice. We went ahead and asked for them to come fill the tank anyway. Bad choice. They lied to us again, never showing up for the scheduled re-fill. We re-scheduled. They lied again. AGAIN they did not show.
So, we are purchasing a tank twice the size of the one they have here and are going to use Southland Gas, Inc. instead. I have called our attorney to see how long I must give Suburban to come get their tank off our new property before I can dispose of it myself, and believe me, I will not be one second late on THAT schedule.
Suburban Propane in Huntsville lie. They lie often. They lie about the little things. They lie about the big things. Be careful.
was with them for 2 years
was with them for 2 years. disconnected services and was never told anything about an early termination fee. in fact was told by representative that we would owe nothing and then received bill for $300 ETF after being loyal customer for 2 years. STAY FAR AWAY
Scheduled a delivery for 100 gallons…
Scheduled a delivery for 100 gallons (Waldorf Md) was told they would be out after 3pm called to get time of delivery at 4:30pm was told the truck was out of propane and they did not know when I,would get a delivery so reschedule for morning next day. Called at 9am said he would be here in 20 minutes. Driver said good thing I called as he was just now driving by my street and was on his way someplace else and I was not on his schedule till 5-6 pm. Who ever does the scheduling does not know what they are doing
Worst LP company in Charlotte
Highest price in Charlotte and horrible service. I just told them to pick up their tank. Be sure to shop around and check their prices.
I just became a Suburban propane…
I just became a Suburban propane customer. I rent a 120 gallon tank from them. The Suburban Tec Jeff that installed my propane tank went the extra mile to make sure my propane tank was level and parallel to my building. Jeff was very professional courteous and checked my propane lines for any possible leaks. The women in the Suburban propane office are very knowledgeable about the products they sell along with being helpful in setting up my account.
Trust the others who have left the…
Trust the others who have left the negative reviews of this despicable company. They hugely overcharge for both propane and tank rental. After years of over paying for a minimal amount of propane (only clothes dryer & stove use propane), I was away caring for an ill family member for a few months and came back to a locked tank over an unpaired bill for ~$60-70 propane top off charge, which I did not request, nor did I need. As I was away, I did not get the bill. They were very quick to cut one off and then charge extra to get one hooked up again. Ridiculous!! After 20 years of overpaying for propane & tank rental it was definitely time for a “divorce” from this despicable company, so I cancelled service and tank rental. They took the full tank and refunded all of $12 for 60 full gallons of propane. They are thieves and after over 20years of paying promptly, they just cut off service after about 3-4 weeks of non-payment for an “automatic” I requested delivery of a minimal amount of fuel. Be forewarned and go anywhere else for propane. Why they remain in business remains a mystery to many. Hateful company.
they suck..
they suck... I have been without gas since thanksgiving.... and not for not following their instructions or effort on our part. Their customer service at the Marlborough/Northborough office is impatient, treat customers like we should know their jobs, and do not voluntarily offer solutions.
For example, they locked my tank for a suspected leak and told me to call the office for support with a technician with leak detection tools. I called the office and Grace or Barbara tells me to call the appliance guys to determine the leak. Appliance guys show up... could not test for leaks because there was no gas. SP forget to tell me they need to be there for that. So give it another shot. The appliance guys were available 26th of Dec, so I call Suburban for the appointment. After 45 minutes, 3 transfers, and a supervisor call...Barbara tells me the appointment for the day is all set - and reminds me 3 times that if their technician had to wait around for the appliance tech, SP would 125$ per hour. So of course.. I optimistically secure the first service call on Dec 26th. The appliance company shows up, and Suburban does not. I call the main office - they have no access to service logs, and I was promised a callback from the local office on Monday 27thDec. Never happened. So - we call them, they tell us they never scheduled the appointment - this after I spent an entire morning going between the condescending Barbara (and the supervisor who had her remind me that the call would cost us 125$ /per hour after the first 15 minutes of their appearance) and the appliance company. We have asked them to take their tanks out of here. They simply suck!!!
Over priced
Over priced. Local will call providers we're charging 1.899 per gallon. Suburban charged me 3.409 per gallon. So yeah. NEVER RENT TANKS.
My 78 yr old mother is a customer of…
My 78 yr old mother is a customer of this co. Here it is Christmas Eve and because she owes these people 227.00. She is without propane for her home. Her tank is at 0 and when I called Suburban Propane in Albion they ask for their 227.00 or would not give her any propane. Merry Xmas Craig and come get your tank on Dec 26.. You guys suck!!!
Do Not!!!
Do Not...I repeat Do Not EVER use these people! We had a tank delivered installed incorrectly and then over filled SO much that it was letting off what sounded like gun shots with puffs of black smoke!!! We had to call the fire department just incase our house got the side blown out of it. When they arrive the fire station folks just like the lady I spoke with at Suburban propane laughed because and I understand that some tanks will let off some pressure if over filled. They laughed untill one of the fire fighters walked over to the tank and the explosion literally knocked him on his ass! But of course when I called Suburban the lady laughed and called me a liar and that it never happened. So I told then to come get the tank and refund us our money. Not only did they not refund us our money they asked us to pay and additional 60$ that aparently was left over from the initial hook up! Now answer me this why would they have even came and put gas in it if I hadn't paid the full amount owed already!!?? So now they've sent me to collections for 60$ for a job that was poorly done, a tank that was over filled and connect improperly because a propane tank should not let off black smoke and now they want to ruin my credit. WTH I mean really what in the actual hell??? I was literally worried that my house along with my daughter that was in the yard was gonna get blown away and the laughed, said it never happend and then are still trying to screw me by taking me to collections for 60$. Even if they weren't gonna give me my money back this is an all time low. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! It doesn't matter that your military or no or what danger your family may or may not be in. All they want is your 60$ terribly poor!
I have been waiting 6 days since i…
I have been waiting 6 days since i spoke with them. I told them i was. Low already . I put in some fuel myself to.hold over but i cant do it again. Spoke to three different ladies.
They said I'm not on a route yet?? WTH
Its been 6 days!!!
And the best part of all this is ,i just saw a suburban truck go right past my house.
So, he apparently delivered to someone in my park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why wasnt I on that delivery too??
Ive been with them 4 years now and it seemed to change this year.
Staff is not as nice or friendly like they used to be
Maybe time to find another supplier.?
They just charged me $5.99 a gallon for…
They just charged me $5.99 a gallon for 21 gallons of propane out of Honesdale, PA. Guess they don't want me using their propane over this coming winter. Good thing it's a vacation home!
Get it in writing
I can not stress the lack of training and customer care. I don't know if they were intentionally dishonest or just incompetent. I eventually tried to leave. There was a $300 credit on my account. I was told several times they would mail me the funds. Denied. Supposedly it was in my contract, something never mentioned while I was talking to them about removing the tanks. Convenient how they remembered afterwards.
I live in an RV and was forced to move…
I live in an RV and was forced to move due to someone else wanting my spot and able to pay more. Suburban propane charged me fines as punishment for leaving their company.
My mother and I were both customers…
My mother and I were both customers Suburban Propane for a total of 70 years. I’m not sure what transpired, but they became the worst company I’ve encountered. We decided to leave due to billing and customer service. Please do your research and pay attention to the reviews. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to its questionable practice.
My mom final billing was 8/4/20, and a letter was submitted 8/19/20 reading:
Your past due balance with our local office has been transferred to this department for collection. Your account is seriously in arrears.
I called and spoke with Daiquiri ( I change the name ), and confirmed she wasn’t in arrears, and that is “the standard letter they send to everyone.” My mother, who is 78 years of age, received this lying letter, and it made her upset. All Daiquiri wanted to know if she was going to pay the bill today. The phone disconnected, and I called Daiquiri again and left two messages because I wanted to pay Suburban Propane and finally get rid of this company. I will be encouraging ALL of my family members and friends to take their Suburban’s bill to another company. Customer Service is more important than the price of gas. Don’t bite the hand that helps you receive your bonus.
I found a company that has fantastic customer service and was able to provide a good rate.
PS If you choose to stay with Suburban Propane…..negotiate your rate every year before you go into a new contract. If not, they will use that same gas and burn you all winter.
Place is a clown show
Place is a clown show. Incompetent employees ended up scamming me out of more money than I care to admit. Never do business with Suburban
Terrible company
Terrible company. Not interested in keeping customers. I've been a customer for many years with no problems. They filled my 100lb in Sept after my pool was shut down and the valve on the tank was closed for the season. They showed up in May and told me they needed to fill it because in was empty. The pool is still closed and the valve was still closed. Where did all my propane leak off to?
They sent out a so called tech to look for a leak in the tank, but he couldn't find a leak. Probably because the tank was empty and had no pressure in it is my guess.
They thought I was actually going to let them fill that defective tank again the next day and loose another 100lbs of propane not to mention there would be a potential explosion in my back yard ready to go off.
I spoke to a very rude woman at the Derby, Ct. office.....stay away!
On to my new Propane company next week.
t
THEY ARE AWFUL
This is the absolute WORST company to go through for propane. My boyfriend and I, early 20s got a house together and we needed a service since we put a new gas line in. It was inspected by the town and was done professionally. We notified Suburban (this was who the previous people had) to tell them we needed the tanks moved and filled. We went back and forth for THREE months. We called, emailed, left numerous voice messages and when we got through, all they would tell us was that they had to “talk to their manager and they’d get back to us.” We we’re told this TWICE. After getting completely fed up not having heat or hot water with 0 answers from them, we changed providers to which we are SO happy with. They had everything set up in TWO days and they are were so responsive to us. They took away the suburban tanks and just a week later we have a “closing bill.” Huh, funny you can send us a bill but not respond to us when we need a service that would make you money. This place is absolute trash and I could give this negative stars if I could. Don’t waste your time. Thanks Suburban for making getting a first house getting set up even more difficult, I wouldn’t recommend your company to my worst enemy.
