Great, but issues with shelf-life

This is an excellent product that works well. The massive problem is the shelf-life. Single packs are very expensive (when actually in stock) and unless you have a whole row of jobs lined up the chances are that if you order a multipack you'll use the first one and then throw the rest away because they're out of date and don't work.
If money is invested in the development of the product (or the wrapping) to extend the shelf-life this would be a must for every tool box.

Really useful for multiple uses, easy and clean

Helped me hang some floating shelves and had some left over to repair my earphones. Set in 24 hours. Shelves are held up properly (they are lightweight shelves) and support the weight of my Lego models, and the glue is supple enough to have moulded around the broken cable on my earphones and has fully sealed the breakage. No need to throw anything away! Thanks Sugru!

Short shelf life for price

Bought some sugru (3pack) to fix cables and learnt that it is single use so I waited to collect some things to maximise a packet. I hadn’t realised they have an expiry date so opened it today as I wanted to use it to fix my puppies’ harness but turns out it had all gone out of date and was all crumbly :( Even kept it in a cool dry place so didn’t expect it to go off. Frustrating as I didn’t even get a chance to use it, hence the one and I’m unlikely to purchase a whole other pack. Also reading that there are allergic reactions when used close to skin I’m unsure about investing again.

While promising, failed to deliver

While it seems like a great idea, I feel it failed to deliver for me.

It was only successful when I tried to stick minor things and even then I had to try two or three times until it actually worked -sometimes it didn't even then. I applied pressure, I tried many ways but nothing worked.

The packaging is also kind of useless because once opened, it did nothing to protect the content from drying out even If I tried to close it carefully, so I had to use a whole package every time I wanted to stick something, just so it didn't go to waste. All in all, it seems like a great idea that is just that, an idea. It's almost as if the product isn't finished yet.

It worked well but my hands suffered the consequences

It worked well and hung up the item that I needed to hang. However after having it touch my skin less than a minute later I felt a burning sensation in my hands and my hands were covered in dark red-ish patches and I couldn't touch sugru without it burning so I had to get someone else to use it for me. I saw on the packet and on YouTube videos people not using gloves so I did the same.

Afterwards I saw that there was a small warning at the bottom of the back of the pack but I didn't expect any irritations to occur to me as this has never happened before. I couldn't find anyone else online speaking about this experience before so I thought I'd include it in this review. But other than that it's a decent product. It's only been two hours though so I'll have to see how it holds up!

Double check Best Before date after buying online.

Ordered a pack of black ones. Used just 1 of them and its great. Unfortunately few months later (like 6) when I need it again I discovered that the other Sugrus are hard/dry and useless. Good product but best before needs to be check just after buying them from on line resellers. I wish to use it again but I do not want to risk. Any way is very good and use full product.

I don't even know what to say now. I scored a product with 3* because a relatively short shelf life(13 months). After that I was contacted by Sugru Customer Service Team (Jordan) who explained me how to extend Sugru shelf life up to 2 or 3 years(fridge). He offered me super deal as well. Next day I had email from Katie that my parcel is on the way. 1st clas Royal Mail. I'm speechless. Never seen that kind of customer service. 10/5*. The product I bought was ok and it was only MY fault that it expired before I use it but they still did everything and beyond to make every customer happy. BIG RESPECT for whole Sugru team.

Sugru & squirrels

I like Sugru for many things, and now always have some in my refrigerator, just in case. Something not staying where I want it, broken bits of plastic, wood, whatever.... all kinds of places where it turns out to be the best option.

And, whilst doing battle trying to keep the squirrels from emptying my bird feeders every single day, I discovered that they do not like Sugru. I had one of those feeders where the outside drops down with any weight on it - the squirrels discovered that they could fix that by ripping off the metal guards and chewing all the holes bigger. They really are a pain!! Anyway, thought I'd try fixing the holes with Sugru and was pleasantly surprised as not only did it work to fill in the gaps, the squirrels clearly tried a chew and decided that they didn't like it.

A product that fixes my toys and deters squirrels is definitely worth keeping around.

Absolute waste of money

Absolute waste of money, I bought 2 packs, I tried the first pack and it didn’t work, there is no point using the other pack as they don’t do what they said.

It seems like a really good product but…

It seems like a really good product but when I bought them from the store and came home to try it out all of them were dry. I’m not sure how long they have been sitting on the shelf and I wasn’t aware of its shelf life.

So much for durable and flexible

I used sugru to repair some shoes that had split on the soles and to replace how badly worn down the heel on them was. Made sure to lightly sandpaper the surface to key it, pressed the edges down to ensure it stuck and left it for a week before i dared touch it again - two weeks later both of the heel fixes have fallen off and the split has split through the sugru.

Yes it was super easy to use and yes the shoes felt fine whn I worse them. But it didn't last and now I have a few packs left that I don't really want to use, so I've wasted my money.

I love Sugru

I love Sugru,
I tried to get it to stick to some high-gloss wood and it didn't stay on. Not the fault of the Sugru - I should have sanded the gloss off first.
I did stick it to my soap dish, to make little ridges so the soap would dry better. It worked great for that!
Now I'm going to make little loops on the sides of my computer screen. One will hold my (ever disappearing) pen, and the other will hold my equally elusive eye-glasses! :-)

The ordering experience is superb

The ordering experience is superb. I regretted that I didn’t do it at first place, instead I ordered from Amazon USA and got 2 packs of counterfeit products.

I think this stuff is really cool

I think this stuff is really cool. It works just like they say it does. However, my only complaint is that it has only a year shelf life and they don't actually advertise that. I bought some of this thinking it looked cool but didn't have any specific reason to use it yet. A year later, I pulled it out and wanted to use it. All of it was useless. I was able to use a total of two of the 20+ packets that I bought. I later found in the FAQ that they talk about the shelf life and how to prolong it. Store it in the fridge or freezer. Wish I had known about that when I bought it.

Edit: I contacted Sugru about my problem with not knowing about the expiration. They were kind enough to send one replacement package. I promptly put it in the fridge. I'm giving one more star for their great customer support. I still don't like the short life span.
