Very disappointed with the mental health service

I was very disappointed with the whole experience especially after reading so many good reviews about them. I bought their initial mental health plan on groupon because it looked like a good deal but the whole process was ended up confusing and stressful. I could not book online with the voucher code and had to email the voucher, wait for it to be redeemed by the team. The GP then did not know I had purchased the plan and only offered a 15mins consultation, asking me to send my receipt again for verification after I told him it was supposed to be a comprehensive 30min initial assessment. Although the doctor was polite and did call me back after verification, the whole experience had caused a lot of stress for someone with social anxiety and was in general quite disorganised and unprofessional, especially for a service supporting people seeking mental health advice. I genuinely hope they will look into these issues and improve the service.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the booking process was not as smooth as it should have been.

Groupon bookings are relatively uncommon within our service and, on this occasion, there was an initial misunderstanding regarding the consultation length. As soon as our administrative team confirmed the correct appointment type, the doctor contacted you again and completed the full consultation.

We appreciate that any confusion can be frustrating, particularly when seeking support for your mental health, and we have reviewed the booking process to help ensure Groupon appointment details are communicated more clearly to clinicians in future.

We are pleased that you found the doctor polite and appreciate you taking the time to highlight an area where our administrative process could be improved.

I was a bit unsure what to expect…

I was a bit unsure what to expect because sadly the NHS mental health has let me down (East neighbourhood Mental Health most recently) My GP referred me when I informed her my mental health has gotten worse and as she infomed me if I get any sort of thoughts I must contact her. Well I did I infomed her as of late I'm thinking it can't be that bad when you leave this earth, you won't have to fight formally complain, appeal or attend tribunals anymore how peaceful that must be. I saw them as dark thoughts hence why I infomed her. I informed her the medication is no longer working either, it just makes me want to eat more. She then referred me to mental health. I would be happy to share my experience word for word on here but Trustpilot quite strict on what and can you share. So sadly I cannot share what and how I came to tapGP. I wasn't happy actually appalled at the so called service I received. It's not the first time I've actually chosen to go private. Why when you go private you seem to get much better caring service? I found it very easy to schedule a appointment same day to a time that suited myself. The GP I was allocated was fantastic. He LISTENED, didn't rush or interrupt me. He was respectful and most importantly showed genuine empathy to both my situation and my mental health. He was very thorough and went all through my current medication as well as my history. I get a follow up review appointment in two weeks. My prescription was sent straight away to my phone so I can take it to a pharmacy of my choice. I am so amazed and happy. The service and care I received worth every penny. It's a pity you don't receive the same care and service from the community mental health team. They treat you like a number and burden to their service, they under staffed, under budgeted like thats you fault. As a neurodiverse human being I just want to be listened to and respected. I only seem to find this when I go private, which is saying something. Huge thank you to the GP I was allocated and tapGP. I truly would highly recommend them. 🎯💯👏🏾

Great experience

Great experience. Easy to arrange the appointment, and to access the appointment. Doctor was polite and listened to my symptoms, and I felt heard in the appointment and a treatment plan was arranged.

A great service 5*

I recently used TapGP and was extremely impressed with the service. The platform was easy to use, efficient, and made accessing support straightforward and stress-free. The process was quick, the advice was clear, and I felt listened to throughout. My prescription was sent to me via text which made the whole process so simple. It’s a fantastic example of how technology can make healthcare more accessible and convenient. I would highly recommend TapGP to anyone looking for a simple and reliable way to access medical advice and support.

I would not use this service again

Positives:
Objective accomplished - privilege of seeing/speaking to a GP without the battle of waiting for an appointment with my GP or nurse. Waiting time for a nurse is three weeks and often, no pre-booking with a GP. One can get a Tele con if lucky and you can get a same day appointment but you must request it same day. This is difficult for those of us who work full time.

The app is intuitive and simple to use. The box asking about patient needs could do with an upgrade of how many characters one can enter. 200 is not enough.

The cons: This was my first consultation and this review relates only to this consultation.

The GP I spoke to was borderline rude from the outset. Rather than ask appropriate questions, take a brief history - this gentleman used dialogue of a condescending nature and indicative of inferring I was insincere with regard to the information I provided to him. This attitude themed throughout the brief consultation.

I would not use this service again.

I thank you for the medication while I arrange to speak to/see my GP.

Worth the money to get seen on Sunday

I accessed my appointment on Sunday. I was able to get an appointment the same afternoon that I signed up. Don’t worry if the doctor is a couple of minutes late, they will get there. The doctor I saw was extremely knowledgeable. I felt that he really listened to me and took the time really try and understand my symptoms. He prescribed medication which I was able to get from Boots within 30 minutes of the call. This was definitely worth the money.
