Disappointing experience, particularly given the cost
I underwent a full course of three AviClear laser treatments at Thames Skin Clinic, spending several thousand pounds in the hope of improving my persistent acne.
Initially, I noticed a real improvement in my skin, which was encouraging. Unfortunately, six months later, my acne has returned and I’m experiencing regular breakouts again.
I completely appreciate that no treatment can guarantee results and that everyone’s skin responds differently. However, given the significant financial investment, I had hoped for a more proactive and supportive approach when the treatment didn’t deliver the lasting results I’d expected.
I’ve contacted the clinic to explain my disappointment, but so far I haven’t felt particularly supported or reassured about what the next steps should be.
Before choosing Thames Skin Clinic, I had consulted another dermatologist who discussed several treatment options with me. I ultimately chose Thames because AviClear was considerably less expensive there, but looking back, I wish I’d placed more importance on the overall approach to managing my acne rather than the price of the laser treatment alone.
My disappointment isn’t just about the results. It’s about feeling that, after investing so much money, I’ve been left without a clear plan for what happens next.
I would encourage anyone considering AviClear to ask detailed questions about realistic outcomes, the possibility of acne returning, and what follow-up support is provided if the treatment isn’t successful.
