Caveat emptor with The Rake. Customer service is way below sub-par. Have emailed them 5 times about an exchange with -0- response.
DO NOT BUY FROM THE RAKE
This company's customer service is the worst, no idea why the put their phone number on the website they never work. I had to complain with another customer in their comment section to get any sort of response. Also, it turns out that whoever runs the social media (Instagram) has no access to the customer service. They admitted that it takes long to get a response from them. They have a guy called Baptiste who doesn't give two craps about customers reached out to him 3 times and nothing has been emailed to me. If anyone from The Rake is reading this, please email me back about my order I have been inquiring about it the whole week. Unfortunately their best rep Emily left and she was the best of them. I wish I knew this before I purchased, should have read the reviews.

Emily Bennett is a rock star
This review is solely for The Rake's customer service manager, Emily Bennett, whom I've had the pleasure of working with for the past couple of years. I've been a loyal and avid client of The Rake for well over a decade but like many others, have also become disillusioned with the material drop in quality at the company, particularly at the online atelier. Certainly, COVID-related supply chain disruptions have been a factor so one must be empathetic of those externalities but there are also undeniable broader management problems - coupled with an archaic infrastructure in severe need of a revamp - that have been plaguing the operations for well over 2 years now, regrettably. Nevertheless, the only reason why I've (reluctantly) remained a customer is exclusively because of Emily. From my vantage point, Emily is The Rake's true priceless asset and only saving grace; she is why the business is largely still afloat and The Rake should count their blessings for having her. She is not only the consummate professional but also an earnest team player and above all, a marvelous human being. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty and will never give up until a solution is found, even when confronted with insurmountable odds and internal opposition. I have been very impressed with and humbled by her relentless spirit and am immensely grateful to her for having turned around several negative experiences and salvaging the relationship. With her invaluable experience/knowledge, incomparable work ethic, and sound temperament, she is sure to be an exemplary leader anywhere and any top-notch organization would be most fortunate to have her. I have always received swift deliveries from the Rake, but this time the shipment somehow got lost by the shipping company. However, when I called Jamie he quickly found out what had happened and arranged an express delivery and I had my package within three days. That’s five star customer service!
I have always had good customer service…
I have always had good customer service from Rake representatives but recently, Emily went out of her way to sort through the problem of not receiving issue #79 due to supply chain challenges.
She sourced a copy in Europe and bundled it with issue #80 and both arrived about two weeks later.

I've subscribed to The Rake for a number of years and love the magazine. I recently had an issue with my subscription and missed a couple of issues before I managed to resolve it and Jamie went out of his way to ensure everything was resolved and I was able to obtain the couple I'd missed.

Rake staff and products OUTSTANDING
I have purchased several products over the years with the RAKE and in every case the product was as expected and very rakish.... or a very capable sale associate assisted me in the return and acquisition of the proper size. Most recently, Emily, a customer service manager assisted me in correcting an order mistake I made with paypal. She was attentive and fantastic. matter resolved in short order and all correct!

I've been a long time reader of their magazine and decided to order a few items from their shop. After spending over $1.4k a month ago I haven't even received a tracking number. I've sent multiple emails requesting information and then finally a refund and I haven't heard anything from them. I honestly think I have been scammed and I am really shocked at how poor their customer service is. I will never be shopping with them ever again!!!

Overseas subscription is a scam
Signed up for a 12 month subscription in November 21, and have received precisely nothing. Emailed them last week, likewise, heard nothing. I’m based in Australia, so will have to try and contact them via phone. Very disappointing, seems like a scam. Avoid if overseas.

Its a great magazine and I prefer it to GQ, but not sure if anyone exists.
The Rake responded immediately and dealt with my issue I received my copies within. 7 days and an apology
