You can't ring their customer service but only email them and it can take days for them to get back to you. Can't use Apple Pay, my car insurance, gym, DVLA and many others don't accept the debit card which is ridiculous. Was shopping in M&S and they wouldn't accept my card either which was very embarrassing and the account once froze for 4 days. My rent DD failed even though there was money in my account and after retrying to make the payment multiple times & wait on several email queries to customer services from my phone whilst I was on holiday, it frustratingly became apparent that I couldn't make the payment from my phone so I spent my hols totally stressed until I could make the payment when I got home. Oh nearly forgot they are not a bank but just a marketing front - they switched banking providers without notifying me and changed my sort code & account number, didn't switch my direct debits and my money disappeared for two days which caused a massive headache and got me several late fee charges. All I got from them after waiting two days for an email response was 'you can move banks if you want'. Don't believe the positive comments they must be automated.

Pleasantly surprised by the ease and manageability of u account ,the one time I was concerned was due to a huge operation out with u accounts hands and my own ..couldn't access fund's to my shock ,thankfully a quick call eased my fears and all was resolved within hours with an explanation as what happened .professional and experienced staff deal with queries and issues quickly and with responsibility that has to be admired.thank you for your service .

Very good service, even in the face of a global pandemic

I keep this account as a spare money. Easy access using mobile app and clear rules about free account etc. I'm happy to have this contactless card in my valet.

They are registered as a real bank the visa card is a full one, The customer service is very fast, Transfers only take about 10 or 12 hours. Excellent

The banking I find fine but why do I have to pay if I take my money out or transfer money. It is a bank and thought this was free??

U account gives me facilities to use it as a bank account. It's similar working like a bank. Although it's not a bank but I can do everything with u account which a bank normally provide for customer. I can access online banking as well as withdrawn money from cash point. Also can use for my working place to transfer my wages.

I opened my U Account as I don't have proof of ID to be able to open a regular bank account my usual account only allows me to withdraw cash from machines or my local branch, but I needed to be able to use a card for purchases, since opening the U Account it has gone through some changes but everything has now settled down and the account is just like using a regular bank account but with a small monthly fee for the administration of the account. Any queries directed to the team are usually answered quickly and efficiently and i would heartily recommend this as an account for anyone in a similar situation as myself.

Easy straight forward to use much simpler than other online accounts. If your looking for card and have bad credit history this card is well suited for you.

Since changing card issuer the u account has just got better faster transfer is better than waiting 2 hours thumbs 👍

Does exactly what I require. I do not have much trust in contactless transactions which are now the norm. With this card I have some confidence that any losses I may incur through criminal activity will be limited to the funds I have on the card which I keep at an affordable level.
