I have been running detox and longevity…

I have been running detox and longevity retreats for over 20 years, across the UK and internationally, and it is rare to find a place with this level of integrity and care.

This is not a venue driven by profit alone. There is a clear sense of respect for the land and a team that genuinely cares about what they are creating. The food is biodynamically grown, seasonal, and prepared by chefs who are deeply connected to their craft.

The whole space feels aligned with nature, from regenerative practices like solar energy to a grounded, respectful approach to the environment. This creates a setting that truly supports healing work.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the principles of living in harmony with nature are not just spoken about here, but fully embodied. It is a space that allows people to reconnect, find balance, and experience real depth in their retreat process.

Disappointed

Our stay in Quercus treehouse, which is absolutely beautiful, was very comfortable and rather magical, especially for children and the staff on site were helpful and friendly. However when we arrived I was not expecting the site to be a building site with building works and ground works taking place close to and around the accommodation. None of this was disclosed on the website, which markets the place as a tranquil and peaceful resort for relaxation. The dumper trucks, lorrys, cement mixers and grinders did affect the ambiance. We simply received an email after booking to say it might be a ‘bit muddy’ on site due to building works taking place in ‘part of the resort’. Bearing in mind this is after booking and therefore you’ve already paid a nonrefundable deposit. Very disappointing. To try and be fair to the resort I emailed them after our stay to raise this issue, but a week down the line, I’ve heard nothing back from them. Would’ve been happy to book again at a better time of year, but the lack of acknowledgement of my email, raising the point that they’re not being fair to guests by not disclosing the extensive works, was again disappointing. Poor customer service

Stunning location, delicious food, lovely staff

Stayed there in October 2022 as part of a retreat. Great spacey room. Food was delicious, discovered new flavours. My friend enjoyed the swimming pool. We swam in the river.
Stunning location and landscape. Understatement actually.
The cook and the owner were delightful and very helpful.

Not Luxury

Came here earlier this year had a wonderful stay in a treehouse then returned recently and had the opposite experience in a bell tent. The tent was infested with flea beetles and earwigs and at night it was like being in a horror film. We are avid campers and have never ever experienced anything to this level. We complained to management and were met with a refusal to accept that there is a problem at all despite the fact that the manager witnessed it herself and us sending photographic and video evidence to the customer services team. Probably the worst customer services I've ever experienced and this is supposed to be a luxury glamping site!! Avoid avoid.

Stayed in one of the cottages

Stayed in one of the cottages. Dirty carpets. Mouldy bathroom. Broken curtains. Never cleaned. Dead flies on kitchen window sill when we arrived and never cleaned. Bread bin in kitchen was an old pine one from 1980s. Nowhere to dry wet towels. The non slip bath mat was disgusting. Pool full of dirt at bottom had not been vacuumed all summer. The hall where we did yoga was full of dirty tatty settees and broken fire alarms and fixings. Very shabby place

Excellent venue

Excellent venue - highly recommended!

We have used West Lexham for our international company conference for the last two years and it has been fantastic.

Great accommodation and conference space and amazing staff for whom nothing is ever too much trouble - always going the extra mile. Any issues are dealt with swiftly and they are honestly the most helpful staff I have ever encountered. Just brilliant!

If you are looking for a really fun venue for your conference, I would recommend ditching that corporate hotel and giving West Lexham a try - you won't be disappointed.

Best retreat venue in the UK

West Lexham is definitely the best retreat venue we have come across. We've been involved in running lots of residential yoga programmes over the past few years and never has a programme run as smoothly as the one at West Lexham this July. This is all down to the West Lexham team who go out of their way to make everything you need available, whilst at the same time being totally unobtrusive and leaving you to enjoy the venue as if it were your own. Everything is to a very high standard. The Barn kitchen is brilliant! The Harvest Room is perfect for yoga. The Barn bedrooms are deluxe and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It is as if every little detail has been thought of. All our participants gave the venue 5 stars. Thank you so much West Lexham. We'll be back!
