Edit: After posting on here and social media, they revisited my claim and acknowledged that I recieved a faulty pair of shoes as the outsoles shouldn't be peeling off after a few walks. Wildling provided an amicable solution and were able to resolve the issue.
After owning these shoes for less than a month and only wearing a few times, my shoes began to fall apart.
The outsole of the shoes started peeling off after less than a month and they placed the blame on me. Claiming I must be "stumbling" and "tripping". I wore these shoes A FEW TIMES walking and the outsoles started peeling off.
They told me to glue me shoes for "sustainability". I'd argue that manufacturing a shoe to last longer than a month is more sustainable. Also, they said that if I did glue my shoes that I would be responsible for any damage that would occur from glueing. So their solution involves ruining my shoes even more and they can't be held responsible? Why not manufacture shoes that last longer than a month? For the price tag of $150, you'd expect better quality.
I've worn barefoot shoes before and never had I experienced such atrocious quality and customer service.
Avoid! Scammy and horrible!

I bought Medlar 42 with wool insoles. I have used them for about 2 years now so i think i am qualified to give an honest review.
First of all it's an hate & love experience wearing them. The love side of them is that the overall design is superior and brilliant in a sense that they are super minimalistic and at the same time fullfills the requirements for a heavy duty shoe that keep your foot warm and flexible.
I live in sweden and sometimes it reach under -25 c° and i have walked on pure icy roads in -20 c° wearing wool insoles and summer socks and it is impressive.
The hate side of the shoes is that they are narrow. There is little to no difference between regular shoes and wildling shoes on the overall width. Only the toebox shape is different but the width remains the same which makes my toes non flexible and makes my toes colder than rest of my foot because of the restrictive movement. That is sad because 80% of the shoes is sooo good and so well designed but unfortunately everything falls because of the restrictive toebox and everytime i walk in them is pure joy except that my brain constantly thinks about my toes being claustrophobic. The downside of the shoes is sadly to big for me buying wildling shoes again. It is sad because the design is so great and the quality is really good as well.
I really hope they could make a version with a wider toebox and not just unisex shoes. Males have generally much wider/bigger foot than females.
I believe many people use barefoot shoes for the health benefit rather then design. So for me personally and many others, people dont mind if the shoe "look" wider.
So my primary message to wildling is to start produce versions with wider toebox. Me personally wont buy another wildling shoe again until they have wider shoes to choose from. It is sad because i really really like them except they don't give me the health benefit and the feeling i could have right now wich made my buy shoes from other brands even though i wanted to buy wildling shoes. I hope in the nearest future they rethink and adapt theire shoes.

The shoes I bought are really very nice, just as the pictures on the website. But as others have said the website is misleading about UK import duties and taxes. The website says those apply to goods above £135. My shoes were £132, but Wildling unexpectedly added the cost of the postage to the value of the goods. I had to pay more than £68 in taxes and duties. Had I known I would have asked relatives to receive them and bring them over next visit.
Also all the links to maintenance products are broken, so we cannot buy the stuff needed to impregnate them.

Wow. That went wrong. I just burned my feet. I live in a hot climate in Colombia… asfalt is 50-60 degrees Celsius… no way you can walk around in these shoes here.
Same shoes can be handmade for 1/4 of the price here.
Edit after reply: If you agree that the shoes you produce don’t fit higher temperatures (it is not about my sensitivity, feet are just not protected, and that’s what shoes are about), please refund me or at least write it on your Website.

I have just ordered two pairs of Wildling shoes but did not even think about the fact that there would be an import tax of them! I am in the UK. I was contacted by DHL advising the import taxes were 107.44 pounds, nearly the same price as one shoe! Wildling do state on there website that there may be import taxes but it is not clear, does not flag when you buy them and you would only see it if you were looking for it. I'm a bit disappointed and now having a stressful time trying to sort this out as there is no number to actually talk to a person at Wildling, only a chatbot which can't help and email contact which takes time.

It is a great company and the shoes are great, unfortunately it is lacking a clear transparency of all costs that may be incurred. I ordered from the UK trusting that the shipping cost of £14 would indicate the final amount, however, I received an email from DHL with a request of £100 to allow the import. I understand that Wilding has no control over import charges, however, for a great customer service, clarity of expected amounts so it is possible to make an informed decision would help for the service. I received half of the import charges reimbursed as a sign of goodwill however, as one shoes where to big I had no chance of exchange without incurring further costs and lost £64 in the whole process. (Import plus shipping cost).

I bought the Tanuki Hana. Just completed 170km walk in Italy during 30 to 32 degree heat. The shoes were excellent. Light weight, breathable and more importantly, they did not smell in the morning. Highly recommend Wildlings shoes

I purchased shoes on July 20th, before the end of August the shoes are falling apart. The sole is separating, and the tread on the shoe is all but gone. When i contacted them about it they told me to glue them back myself. For less than a months worth of wear and for shoes that cost 150 us dollars. I think that is absolutely garbage. They wouldn't exchange the shoes because "they aren't available." But show in stock on the website, they wont refund me or send me another pair. They did offer a whole 15 euro store credit. Total BS. This is terrible customer service for cheap a$$ shoes.

Had a warranty issue due to a faulty seam that opened up. Friendly service, suggested to bring the shoes to a repair shop and pay the fees (a very nice and sustainable solution) or exchange for a new pair. As the shoes were only a month old, I decided to exchange.
Had a replacement pair within a week and shipping back the faulty pair was also paid for.
All in all a pleasant, solution-oriented support.

I was a huge fan of Wildling shoes after the purchase of my first pair, however have been very disappointed with the second- a pair of Aigul trainer types.
True, the description does state that the fabric will “fade more quickly when exposed to sunlight” but after spending £117 I did expect the colour to last a little longer than a few weeks. I started wearing the shoes in April and the colour completely faded by the end of May. They were a beautiful vibrant yellow and now just a grubby off-white. I’m a teacher and wore these shoes whilst working, so they were mostly worn indoors other walking across the car park.
I can’t fault them for comfort and craftsmanship but if anyone is considering a pair, be very careful to check how they are coloured.
My shoes just look horrible now and it feels like a waste of nearly £120.

No shoes I've tried so far feel so minimal and almost feel like wearing socks.
I will definitely be back for more!

The boots were extremely comfortable, they were my first barefoot shoes and now I don't want to wear traditional shoes anymore. However, they came apart after 3 months of wear (sole came undone) which is very sad for this price point. I will pick another brand in a future.

These have been my favorite barefoot shoes and I will continue to be a customer.
Wildlings shoes are extremely flexible and comfortable with the best ground feel that I have personally experienced. All their shoes have such personality and you can get them for all seasons. I personally bought the Tanuki and shortly after loved them so much I bought the Yew for colder and wetter weather. I love both these shoes.
Wildlings also have amazing service. Both times I've ordered things have arrived very timely. I also sought fit help after I had some difficulty with my tanukis at first and they were able to help me fix the problem and guide me toward other suitable options when the Yew sold out (I got lucky and they got a few more in after thus). They spent a significant amount of time helping me make sure I was getting what I wanted. When my Tanukis wear out I've got my eyes on the Nebula for my next summer shoe.
However, we will see if I last that long. Their shoes seem very well made and I appreciate the stitching on the sole since I've had other barefoot brands be flexible but then separate shoe from sole because the glue couldn't handle the flexibility. Don't see this as an issue with wildlings.

I simply cannot give enough stars here to express just how good of a customer service experience it was dealing with them!
After a botched delivery job that resulted in potentially damaged goods, I wasn't entire sure what to do, but the incredible customer service rep went above and beyond, guiding me through the entire process and even giving me advice on how to care for the rain-soaked product. Honestly, they did not have an responsibility to handle any of this, but they did anyway, and were extremely personable and kind while doing so, which means a lot to me and made me feel very comfortable throughout what could have been a very stressful process.

Long term review. Had a pair of boots for 18 months, and whilst I dont wear them all the time, they have been well used. Still going strong with little obvious wear. Love them.
I’d like it if they became a fully vegan company

I use these shoes for work as a massage therapist and couldn't be happier. I'm on my feet all day and really love how secure my feet feel. They're ultra breathable and I love the ground feel. I feel stable and received many compliments from my colleagues. I'm very particular in which shoes I wear and after several seasons with merrell trail gloves to transition into barefoot shoes, I'm never going back to thick runners. I really appreciate their sustainability model and shipping to Canada was a breeze.

Received my Tanuki Yoru shoes about one week ago and I am really disappointed with the build quality. each shoe already has significant ~1cm tears on the ankle stitching, torn stitching on the tread, and current tread wear indicates overly soft material was used in construction.
The fit and feel of the shoe is great however if your goal is to find a long lasting shoe at a quality price point this is not it. If your goal is to save the planet or reduce your carbon "shoe" print this also does not do the job as you would need several pairs (likely shipped across the world each time) to last as long as a quality synthetic barefoot shoe. Finally if your goal is to find a vegan or ethical barefoot shoe it is worth noting that most synthetic shoes likely contain little to no animal products and make similar ethical claims.
Although I would like to see how this brand will continue to innovate and improve upon their products I cannot recommend them.

I will start saying that I like Wildling shoes and I try to buy them for my kid. But when a good alternative is available I am going to switch to a different label, because their service with a crazy twist on sustainability implies that customer experience comes second or later. Out of three orders I made earlier, only one arrived on time. I am waiting for 12 days for the parcel to arrive from Germany to Italy because they use sustainable regular slow postage rather than couriers. And you cannot choose other options. Meaning, like in my case, that you or your kid will end up without warmer shoes, when they need it most. Ah yes, and you will spend the money to unexpectedly buy other brand's shoes because you know they will arrive on time. I ordered a jar of vitamins in the US, and it took 6 days to arrive passing through the Netherlands. This one is taking 12 days so far and I have completely no idea where my parcel is, because apparently tracking parcels is pretty unsustainable. And my kid's feet are freezing in a lighter pair of shoes. Thank you Wildling, I hope you are happy.
Update: Wildling said they are so sorry for the delay of my order, that they will keep their fingers crossed! This will certainly solve the problem and put my kid's feet in the warm shoes!!!
