I used Ariel excell gel for years till about a year ago the original green one and the powder and the hard square actilift tablets (they were brilliant) sadly they had a formula change the old scent we loved is gone replaced with something that just doesn’t smell nice I am also allergic to it now when I wasn’t for nearly all my life since it came out in the 80s and my dad used the liquid in a white bottle blue kid and the future one I remember most of them.
It still always smelled nice now it’s not same the powder has also gone terrible can’t smell anything at all it’s so weak now.
I do use the Ariel colour gel as it smells mostly like the old gel formula but still not quite the same.
I now use bold , blue persil or Tesco non bio it’s a shame as me and all my family and friends loved the Ariel especially the gel now hardly any of us use it.
The professional one isn’t any better either all smell bad cheep when it’s the most expensive detergent in the uk 🇬🇧
P&G give us are old Ariel back we don’t like this new one.

Ariel used to smell great in the 90's and early 2000's. However I can't use any of your products now. The liquid, gel and pods stink of a strong acrid toilet cleaner and make me itchy, and the most recent reformulation of Ariel powder (My preferred format) now makes me itchy too, which it didn't previously.

The only thing good about it is it cleans and removes stains well...thats it!

I’ve just tried Ariel liquid for the first time.
Never again - the smell (fragrance?) left on the clothes even after an extra rinse cycle is overpowering and truly disgusting. A bit like a very strong smelling toilet cleaner.
Reluctant to throw a nearly full bottle of detergent away - but I won’t be using it again

What have you done to Ariel Pods? The smell is appalling- I’ve had to rewash all my clothes without detergent to try & remove the awful smells!! It’s actually burning my eye’s & throat. I’ve used Ariel for years but now I’ve had to dump all the pods as I couldn’t wear anything washed by your product it’s disgusting! SO STOP ADDING THAT AWFUL SMELL IN YOUR PODS

So disappointed with this product as and not for the first time the pods remain in part stuck to the washing when the cycle is complete a blue sticky mass's on several items then require to be rewashed. Not good enough Ariel and also no information on the packaging as to where to email a complaint and having to Google it.

Just opened my first box of Ariel The Big One, used it for the first time today, the smell is overpowering and unpleasant. In fact it is disgusting, all of my bedding now stinks. What on earth is in these Pods to make them smell so bad.
I will not be buying Ariel again, I've used this reliable brand for many years but never again!!

I recently bought Ariel for the first time in several years, huge mistake. The smell of this product is too overpowering. It has a scent of gone off spilt milk which makes me feel nauseous. It also leaves a strange residue on clothes. It's a shame as it cleans quite well, especially white washing. Unfortunately I can't use this and will be denoting my nearly full box to a food bank. I will be returning to my normal washing tab brand.

We bought Ariel big pod tablets to remove mild stains but unfortunately these didn't work in our new machine. Sorry Peter Crouch, big stains, big problem!!

Developed allergy to the product, itching constantly since changing to this brand

I used to swear by ths powder, not anymore. since the switch to fast dissolving pack branding, the machine is always full of foam. The Same Miele machine I have always washed in for 18years, now regularly has the excessive detergent warning.
I've checked the amounts, the water in my area is still as hard as it was previously, but uts just time to wave goodbye to this product.
Washing efficiency is unchanged and no better, so time to try new brands

The smell is overpowered and it's not not good at all! Why changed it ?

Despite correct dosage to wash clothes in a washing machine, the fragrance in the liquid is totally overpowering. I can no longer wear perfume if my clothes have been washed with this liquid. The fragrance permeates the whole house and not in a good way. Please look at your recipe and revise.

Just got a new box of aerial pods and the smell is awful. What have you done!!?!?! People are even commenting on the smell and not in a good way.

Love Ariel pods with stain and Oder remover in and goes nice with lanor cotton fresh my cloths feel washed and clean and smell amazing

Ariel should not be able to market their pods as “original” when the smell is nothing like the original anymore. Absolutely vile. Smells of chemicals so dread to think what extra rubbish is in them! So overpowering and makes clothes itchy!

What happened to one of the best branded detergents ARIEL washing powder.Im literary disgusted with the imported product from GREECE.I use to wash all my washing with the least temp and my results were perfect every time.My washing is all stained with chlorine stains .Im sorry to say never again buying ARIEL until its back to the way it use to be.

Have you any idea how negative your Crouch advert and his “Big Deal” inane comments really are?

As a “knee jerk” reaction we will automatically shy away from ANY Ariel product,…and we are not alone!

Goodbye Ariel!

Like many others I’m wondering what has happened to the Ariel pods? They make washing smell dreadful now. I thought it was the type I had bought, so changed to a different type of Ariel pods and just the same smell. Several reviews on here but Ariel are not responding to what they have added that makes clothes washed in them smell so bad now. I’ve used Ariel pods for many years but going to have to look for another brand now. Ariel please tell us what you have done to what was some really lovely smelling pods?
