A Small Centre with a Big Heart

I’ve been with Everyone Active for many years across different parts of England. While facilities can vary from one location to another, one thing that has remained consistent is the staff — they are always helpful and friendly.

My current membership at Guisborough Leisure Centre is no exception. Although it is a smaller facility, with just a large pool and a small gym/fitness area, the team truly makes a difference. The swimming instructors and reception staff are a lovely group of people who create a welcoming atmosphere.

That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. Both changing rooms would benefit from having more changing cubicles. At the moment, there is only one baby changing station in the ladies’ changing room and none in the men’s, which is quite limiting for families.

Additionally, more shower heads and a wider shower area would help, as it can get very crowded. This often leads to queues and blocks the entrance from the pool to the changing area.

In my opinion, there are also too many lockers that are rarely used, likely because they require payment. During children’s swimming lessons, many people leave their belongings on the wall hooks instead.

Overall, it’s a great place with a fantastic team, but a few practical improvements would make the experience even better.

Great Experience at Everyone Active, Porchester Centre

I recently signed up to Everyone Active Membership and so far so good.

Good location. The venue is a pleasant environment to visit, the building has some character from original features preserved, which are well-balanced with modern facilities. A good range of fitness classes, polite and welcoming staff.

I feel comfortable going to this centre. It’s inviting and doesn’t have a community centre feel but more of a private members club vibe, which I like. It has class.

I love that it has a female only gym, and a decent temporary gym set up while the new gym area is under construction. Lots to look forward to when it finished and open to members in May (2026).

The Everyone Active app is user friendly and the induction was satisfactory.

I would definitely recommend, but only to quality people who would maintain the calibre of the Porchester Centre experience.

I attended the Easter party in the soft play with my 2 children age 11 and 4. This is the 6th party we have attended there now and I was impressed with the activities on offer. As well as having access to the soft play area and lots of party music to enjoy. The friendly staff organised Easter scavenger hunts for the children to participatein and win a sweet treat. We are looking forward to the next one 🥳

Renewed a membership

Renewed a membership, paid in full, I only use sauna, now it says the sauna is out of order for the foreseeable. When you email to complain you get automated replies about freezing my membership due to injury and can't even reply. Over £400 down and not even decent customer service. Luckily Imperium Gym will be opening and be opening near by, with better facilities, sauna and customer service

Adult Swimming Lessons at Concord

I’ve recently started adult swimming lessons at concord leisure centre and I was so anxious before my first lesson, but Shawn was our instructor and he makes learning feel fun, he makes sure everyone is working towards their own goals, and if anything I wish there were more than one session a week.

If you were thinking about it, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try and everyone is so lovely and it is a really welcoming leisure centre.

WLC has been taken over by Everyone…

WLC has been taken over by Everyone Active from freedom lesuire and what a mess they have created for Court players. Courts are Dirty and charges are going up. Service is slow and poor to enter as if they don’t care. The director needs to read these reviews and do something or resign. Extremly shameful state of affairs.

Petersfield location

Petersfield location
Serious fly infestation problem in the swimming pool complex - showers, toilets, changing cubicles infested with weird small flies for months now. I’ve seen the same flies sitting on unflushed poo in the toilet and then flying off to sit on walls and off to changing cubicles. Yuk. Raised with management multiple times. Each time told the problem is in the drains/sewage system and nothing they can do. Yet they raise membership fees several times a year. Hygiene levels are very poor all around. Same poo marks on toilet cubicle walls and mould in the shower month after month, year after year. Most hairdryers have been broken for months now.

Farnham location - most shower cubicles in the female changing rooms have a ton of black mould at the back of the door - you can only see it if you are in the shower cubicle with its door shut as doors open inward. Raised multiple times…I guess it’s impossible to get mould remover products nowadays.

Honestly if i could give 0 stars i…

Honestly if i could give 0 stars i would. It’s actually heartbreaking to see what was an iconic Olympic legacy turn into what feels like a health hazard. Since Everyone Active took over from Better, this place has basically become a "swimming mafia" where they take ur money and give u literal filth in return.

The hygiene is beyond shocking. You walk into the changing rooms and the smell of stale pee and sewage is so strong it makes u gag. Most of the toilets are permanently clogged or missing seats, and I’ve actually seen flies in the showers. There’s hair and grime everywhere - poolside, in the water, even tangled in your hands while u swim. I’ve heard of kids getting fungal infections from this place and honestly I’m not even suprised. It’s a joke.

As for the facilities... what a mess. The e-gates have been "broken" for months, so u have to wait in huge lines just to get in. And the hairdryer situation is just cruel. Not a single one works, and they’ve apparently turned off the wall sockets so u cant even bring your own. Walking out into freezing weather with a wet head because they want to save on electricity is peak corporate greed.

They treat members like an inconvenience. The 50m pool is closed basically every weekend for private events/clubs, but they still charge full membership price? When u do get in, they cram 50 people into 2 lanes while the rest is reserved for "clubs."

Don't bother complaining to the staff as most of them look like they hate being there and just give u a "computer says no" attitude. And I’m sure I’ll get a generic AI bot reply to this review too, which just proves they literally do not care. Unless u want to catch a skin condition or swim in a pool that smells like a landfill, STAY AWAY. 🤮👎🏽

COTSWOLD

My husband has PD and was invited to exercise through everyone active and as his full time care I am allowed to accompany him to his class. I found all the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. The exercise has been very beneficial to his movement.

£37 a month to watch an instructor cry

Paying £35 a month (which goes up every year) and can’t even complete a fitness class. The projector screen has a persistent fault that keeps dropping down and interrupting instructor-led sessions mid-class — this is a recurring issue that management have done absolutely nothing to fix.
Most recently, the class had to be cut short AGAIN. The instructor was left in tears — embarrassed and completely unsupported by staff. Not one person came to help her. A member of staff eventually walked in, couldn’t make eye contact, said absolutely nothing, and walked back out. No apology. No explanation. Nothing.
For context — if I miss or cancel a class, I get charged £5. Yet when they can’t deliver a class due to their own unresolved equipment failures, there’s no accountability whatsoever.
Budget restrictions may explain some things. Poor customer service and leaving a distressed instructor without any support costs nothing to fix. Sort it out.

Happy members!

Really enjoying my Everyone Active membership at the Acton Centre. A very welcoming environment from a team who are motivated and happy to help get the best for their members. The app for booking classes is easy but we're all a little addicted/competitive! Looking forward to the facilities upgrade that's underway.

Copeland pool and fitness centreTake over from better experience

Since change over from better the staff are still amazing but the company have changed and now we can’t get booked into classes as some members get 2 weeks in advance to book activities and we get 1 week in advance so now after 3 years of enjoying the centre I can’t get booked as all spaces full apart from swimming a absolute disgrace
