BEWARE of unauthorised direct debits

Yesterday I had $49.99 directly debited from my bank account to upgrade me to a 'Premium Account'.
I don't want one.

On checking the invoice I received when I purchased, I see it included this:

1x Fishpond Premium Trial
This item is delivered electronically
Your credit card will be charged $49.99 at the end of the 30 day free trial

I am totally dissatisfied because, although the direct debit is not exactly 'unauthorised', I feel they have my $49.99 by stealth.

Fishpond don't provide a phone number, which may, as they claim, keep their costs down, but it just makes them seem dodgy.

On logging into my account, I see a refunds section, but surprise, surprise, there is no refund on a 'Premium Account' subscription (even though I haven't used it.)

I also can't find where to cancel my subscription, so at this point I have another $49.99 payment to look forward to in 12 months time.

I have, of course, contacted Fishpond via message, and I await their response.

Should I receive a favourable outcome, I will happily return here with a favourable review, and delete this one.

I've been with Fishpond for a Fair…

I've been with Fishpond for a Fair While now and will always continue too purchase when I want that Special present for the hard too buy person. They've such Great ranges ad Prices are better than Book Stores. Even though there's millions of items being shipped everyday, they say your order will arrive on such and such date..and it's usually earlier, so Couldn't Be More Happier..🙋💖💖👌

I am a long time customer of Fishpond

I am a long time customer of Fishpond. In the past my experiences have been with out a problem & communication from Fishpond is excellent.
Sadly this order was possible not acknowledged at purchase & payment. Only when I questioned the status of my order & why was taking so long did I receive communication.
Ordered & payed on the 7th July …order arrived on 2nd of August. Was not a postal issue, appears my order was not processed until I inquired.
All good now…thankyou

Had the book I wanted in stock at a…

Had the book I wanted in stock at a cheaper price than the competitors. Was easy to order and was kept updated once the book was shipped. Was well packaged and received the book within the time I was told. Would use again

I have been dealing with Fishpond for many many years - my purchase always arrives- mainly books -dvds, CDs & vinyl records. When not available I am always reimbursed. I will continue with Fishpond! Happy customer here.

No details from seller after follow up

Have followed up with the seller (have enquiries on every ordered item), no details available about who has the product, what stage it is at, and zero tracking details, could be a scam site. I just read Catherine's reply all items are either changing supplier, have been provided non valid tracking (click on the link fishpond provides) and nothing happens - or just marked processing - yes I have 5 replys, but they cover my 3 main points for my 1 star review.

Catherine please tell me where my 5 records are, if you are confident in your business, because I cant work it out off of your 5 replys.

Update 2 4 aug. Two records posted with correct tracking.

Another has come through with this response.... ordered 28 june

The problem is...

The problem is, see, trying to write another good review that doesn't read like all the others. Delivery arrived earlier than expected, undamaged, not covered in some kind of flesh-eating virus or small hydraulic pins that stab you through the hands...
This Pond is a Good One to keep 'dipping into', as it were. So to speak. Or type. Nice place to "fish".
