I have been using Jottacloud for 14 days now replacing/supplementing OneDrive, and everything seems to work fine.
Still working with understanding the difference between Backup, Synch and Archive, but i think that it may just be a matter of getting used to the interface.

Been using Jottacloud for a while now and I'm really happy with it! It's straightforward to use, well-organized, and cheaper than many other cloud services.
The speed is just as good as OneDrive - files upload quickly and folder synchronization works without any hiccups. I had some upload issues when using Firefox with VPN, but figured out it was actually Firefox conflicting with my VPN settings, not Jottacloud's fault.
Customer service is surprisingly good - they help you in both Norwegian and English. I see some people complaining about response time but in my experience Jottacloud responds super quickly, I got a response from Jottacloud within a few hours.
All in all, a really solid cloud storage service that I can definitely recommend.

For English customers ..

Jottocaloud is a case for consumer protection.
I have a home cloud subscription with no bandwidth limit.
I have at least MBit upload and 1GBit download at the location. This was tested with Okla Speedtest.
After the first few gigabytes, Jottacloud reduces the transfer to 776/Kbit. It is clearly Jotttcloud, as 200Mbit/sec are easily available on the Internet.
When asked, they referred to the Jottacloud app, which you should use instead of the browser.
This also doesn't work. There is still a restriction that contradicts the product description of unlimited bandwidth.
Now they don't even think it's necessary to answer my complaint or pay back the money.
A report for fraud would be the next step.
I will report the case to the Federal Network Agency.
I have a degree in computer science and I know what I'm talking about.
I cannot recommend Jottacloud.
// Update
I have 3 times contacted Jottacloud techsupport.
The techsupport has not the knowledge like me about internet and networking. I've studied computer science and the like to advise about things which make not really sense. Google, Strato etc. cloud works perfect.
Only Jottacloud don't work.
I sent them a network benmark.
At the end the last supporter has not answered about my critics. So i send a new mail again to support.
Now I only like to cancel and money back! I not like to pay for not delivered product. I tell this case als to the Federal Network Agency if they don't cancel and pay money back.
This is a worst support - and I don't like it.
Update 28.1. ** change stars to 2Stars **
In discussion with jottcloud I've got my money back so
I make the review 1 point better. Maybe, that they have not the best connection to EWE-Tel provider and if you have other provider Jottacloud is able to fullfill.
My Cloud-Advise: Use google drive - this is one of the fastest. I load my upload from 250Gbyte in only 3hours up!

Installation and getting started are pretty easy. I don't know what type of app the Jottacloud app for macOS is, but it's hideous. At the second start I had a white in white interface and sent a report from within the app with screenshot to Jottacloud. Didn't get a reply.
Unfortunately, the backup doesn't have any basic functionality like a schedule or exclusions. I'm a developer. I don't ever want some files or folders backed up because I constantly change those files or folders.
Deleted. And FFS don't have moving buttons or buttons that show up if I mouse over them.

Some companies will refund the amount of the remaining subscription period after cancellation. Not this company. But they took care of raising prices constantly.
Seeing alot of negative reviews here. I’ve been nothing but happy using jottacloud for two years now. Great service, great support and europe based company!
Should also mention I’m currently storing 7tbs of data on here and its working flawlessly. :D

Been a Jottacloud user since 2012 until now.
I had almost 1 TB of data stored there with most of it dating back to 2012-2014 and when I tried to access my data to download them last week I noticed that several thousand files (nearly 500 GB) was not found by Jottacloud.
I could browse through the files and photos and see the thumbnails og all files, but when trying to access or download the file it failed with a message that stated that the file was not found.
So thank you Jottacloud for loosing 500 GB of my data around 50% of what I had stored in your cloud for 12 years.
I terminated and deleted my account and have moved over to ProtonDrive and may also take pCloud into use as well.
Do not use Jottacloud to store anything that you can't afford to loose. It is useless to use as a backup drive.

not good... their app/websites dont remember your settings?? for what you want to backup?? it keeps backing up my photos and i dont want that?? i write to them many times but they still havent fixed it?? and suddenly i find files in the storage the i deleted over a yesr ago?? it suddenly shows up again?? probably because they want me to take space so they can charge more pr month?? its not good the moment you install this service they will just SUCK anything and everything out of your devices up to their server......
I use Jottacloud over 10 years. The software and service are good. But Jottacloud becomes more and more expensive. 119 euro compared to 9,95 with IDrive. I am over a decade a customer and don't get any thanks. No discount no thank you .

Been using JottCloud for 1 week now and I am quite happy with it. Files sync between Linux and Windows with no issues, there's versioning and support for Word/Excel online. One thing that would be useful would be Outlook

I've been using them for many years. The desktop and mobile apps might not be the best/perfect, but both work well, just like the customer service. Whenever I had an issue with the app, I sent them a message, they forwarded the issue to the developers and fixed it within a few days/weeks.
The price is OK if they don't increase it.
I'm quite happy with the Home 1TB offer.
My wife, my children and I quickly figured out how to back up our data and share our photos.
In my opinion, a few search and sorting options are missing, but I'll make the suggestion to the developers.
It's fast, in Europe (which was important to me), price competitive and pleasant to use
I personally recommend
As a private user, everything I need. A bit cumbersome to move the files from one folder to another, but otherwise just robust and good.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I've been trying to solve a problem now for the past 3 months and they just started ghosting me and not even responding to my messages.
The service provided by the company in question exhibited a profound lack of professionalism and customer care. Despite my 1-year subscription, I found the services to be inadequate for my work and personal needs, resulting in infrequent use. I attempted to cancel my subscription, but unfortunately missed the deadline by one day, and consequently, the company automatically withdrew 990kr from my account through Vipps subscription.
Upon contacting the company through multiple emails, I was disappointed to receive repetitive responses citing company policy, rather than addressing my concerns. While I offered to pay for a single month and receive the balance paid back, my request was declined on the basis of company policy. Consequently, I was left with no other option but to downgrade my account, which oddly reflected a credit. However, despite the credit, the company refused to reimburse the amount.
It is concerning to note that despite the company's revenue of 77 million NOK in 2021 and additional investments, customer service remains a neglected aspect of their operations. The company appears to prioritize their policies over customer satisfaction, which is a flawed approach in the long term. Ultimately, businesses can only sustain themselves by prioritizing the needs and requirements of their customers.
I strongly advise potential users to consider alternatives such as Dropbox or Google, which prioritize customer satisfaction and provide superior services. In conclusion, the company's disregard for customer service is unacceptable, and I urge them to reconsider their approach to customer care for the sake of their long-term success.
I love Jottacloud. It does the job.
But it is not "unlimited". It is up to 5 TB at decent upload speeds, and if you surpass 10 TB they can at any moment find a reason to delete all your files.
So, yeah, if you are a home user and refrain from sharing copyrighted files with third parties, it's a great service. But if you're running a company with a huge amount of data, find another provider. And if you want to spread pirated media or pirated software, it is not the right venue.
Their use of "Unlimited" is a marketing lie. According to their terms of service it's only possible for a user to use unlimited storage space if the average user uses unlimited storage space, which is an absurd reality and (surely) Jottacloud knows that.
Taken from their TOS:
"We reserve the right to limit excessive use and abuse of the Service. If a user’s total storage and network usage greatly exceeds the normal usage of an average Jottacloud user, and/or indicates that the Service is being uses for other than normal individual and non-commercial use, this may be deemed as abuse of the Service.
In these abovementioned cases, we reserve the right to offer an alternative Jottacloud subscription, cancel the subscription, or in some cases delete the user account and/or user data."
Beware that the notice they give once they decide you've made "too much" use of their "unlimited" offer, may not be long enough for you to recover your data from their hands before they delete it.
I'd advise you not to gamble the safety of your data on this company.
Jottacloud is good for small files, or files that don't change much but is terrible for larger size files that change periodically. When it syncs, it re-sends the entire file not just the changed parts. As a result a large file like a mail database that is big and changes daily is constantly being fully uploaded again and again. This ties up the backup resulting in other files not getting backed up at the appropriate frequency. Also, the application refuses to back up contents of some directories, even though application data that needs to be backed up is stored in those directories. Customer support was polite but basically said "that's how it works". I am looking for another cloud backup solution.
