I signed up for the Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Facial Aesthetics in July and I’m enjoying working through the modules on the Virtual Learning Environment, which has quizzes as you go to test your knowledge . Once I’ve completed all my practical training I’ll focus on getting my written assignments submitted.

My first training (Foundation Botox and Fillers) was in Glasgow with Dr Yousrah Ahmed. She delivered the theory very well and we were given quality handouts of the presentation to keep. At the end of the handout was important information on the different dilutions for the different scenarios for using Hyalase. This is essential to know and really useful.

There were 5 trainees in my group , which meant we got plenty injecting experience on all the models. Yousrah was an amazing, confident trainer who had great patience with us and a great knowledge of all the available products and techniques. We all got experience in injecting the different areas and how to assess and mark up injection points for Botox, making us work it out for ourselves before checking it was correct. Yousrah was able to discuss practicalities and offer advice about what was needed for us getting set up to provide our own services.

Covid 19 was taken seriously with screening questions prior to attending training, models were screened , full PPE was issued to us.

Lunch was provided and although only 2 choices on day 1, they responded to feedback and we had a better selection for day 2.

I’m booked in for Advanced Botox/Filler training in November with trainer Heidi Dollimore and really looking forward to it!

I decided to train with MATA in foundation dermal fillers and Botox in September as the company was large and well known. My review is a double edge sword. My foundation training was really enjoyable and the trainer was a great educator who was able to explain the procedures and talk through the practical sessions. I left the training day feeling confident. So much so that I booked the advanced training session.
Well how wrong was I. To start with the trainer turned up 45 min late. On arrival he had no clue how to work the computer and fumbled about trying to find the reading material. Eventually when we started 1 hour late he fired through the theory in 3 min. When we started working on the models I had to keep asking where he was injecting and other important info re safety. There were 4 of us on the training day and every person was of the same opinion that the quality of the training was poor and the trainer had no teaching skills. I am not saying this person is not a good skilled injector but the teaching method was nil.
Following poor feedback on my feedback form I thought MATA would appreciate my email to inform them of my concerns. How wrong was I. I received a reply which stated they had been informed from the trainer that me/the group had been “disruptive” and were trying to gain “free courses” by complaining. As you can imagine I was appalled by these accusations. I asked for my complaint to be raised higher.
1 week later I received a reply from the “Marketing Director”, I had to ask who the email was from as it wasn’t stipulated on the response. This email stated a full investigation had been carried out and they feel I received appropriate advanced training and would be taking the matter no further.

I have been left appalled that a training provider who models themselves on providing high standard level 7 diploma education have closed ranks and are refusing to even let me redo my advanced training with a different trainer.

I learned minimal on the advanced course and I am now having to retrain with another professional company in order to gain the skills I paid MATA £2000 for.
If you are willing to play the lottery with what trainer you get on your MATA course then book up.
My advice would be to steer well clear as they don’t take feedback or complaints kindly but take your money in a shot !!

I found the course very interesting , Samira was a superb teacher and the staff were very friendly and supportive , during my training the owner of the company came in to get feed back which shows interest in outcomes , I have even received post training support in trying to get all the information I need to get my business started in the industry.

If you want to be expert in something like botox and filling terapy and you are interested in something like upping your level as doctor who have some knowledge in cosmetic surgery do visit this place it will give you a lot of data anyway on so many levels I am not sure how much.

I was looking online for an academy for Botulinum toxins and dermal fillers training and found MATA. I registered for both the foundation and advanced courses in January 2020. The experience was amazing. The online learning modules are so helpful. The trainers (Amy, Sarah Louise & Semira) are so helpful and nice. MATA courses are highly recommended due to the professionalism (Lectures, hands-on, trainers, etc)

Excellent course the practical weekend was exemplary in giving professional practical advice .
The tutor Annele was very helpful and no questions too small.
The weekend course is preceded by on line modules which are very clear

I researched the course prior to attending and chose this for the quality of professional support and teaching and was not disappointed.

I just wanted to say thanks so much to Sarahlouise and Vicky, who treated me really well in Manchester today and gave me an amazing treatment. This is the first time I have been a model, so I didn't have any expectations beforehand, although I had read previous reviews by other models. I was looked after extremely well, the treatment was conducted professionally, and I was treated as a client throughout, being made to feel very included and welcome. Sarahlouise took the time to talk about the product and procedure, also giving me a thorough understanding of the risks (as exist with any aesthetics treatment, irrespective of where you go and who performs such) and how to deal with such. I'm thrilled with the initial result and will definitely return. Thanks so much again!

I have been using MATA monthly for a little over a year as an advanced demo model for Botox,Non surgical rhinoplasty but mainly Tear trough and cheek and chin augmentation and,hand in heart can say it has changed my day to day life in ways I wouldn't have dared hope for. After a disastrous botched Blephoraplasty and then infected cheek implant removal I was left with a deflated face that looked like it was melting. I've had surgeries to try to correct this over 20years but it all failed or looked completely unnatural..then my ex told me about MATA and I now look like a man with a natural face,that moves realistically AND I look oh easily 15years younger(I was just hoping for normal).. It has been a "journey",I had difficult issues to address that couldn't be fixed with 1 syringe of Juvederm.. 1 year later and I'm truly happy and truly amazed,as have been many of the wide eyed Drs,nurses and technicians who I've met who were there to learn over the year. I'll happily answer any reasonable questions..

I called Mata yesterday asking for the prices for treatment as a model. The guy I spoke to had no idea of the price and said he would get someone to call me back. As yet I have had no phone call. This does not bode well if I was to have treatment and ended a review. Very disappointed . Poor customer service

Amazing training academy! I recently did a foundation course with Heidi and found it really thorough with lots of practical experience, especially good as I have done a course elsewhere which I wasn't happy with. I am now considering the diploma and will be back for the lip course. Thanks to your friendly trainers and team!

My sister and myself have just received Botox from Mata in Glasgow, all arranged very efficiently by Georgie, great communication and answered all queries quickly. Staff at the centre are fab and explained everything fully.

I booked a foundation dermal filler day in Dec 18 for a course in February 19. Mata sent me via email the whole of the level 7 reading material without any instruction. I had to email/call them on a number of occasions to find out which of the modules I was supposed to do. It was always me chasing things up. I was told two different things by two different people there. Those modules are big and very intimidating so I decided to cancel the February date as I did not feel ready for it. I booked again for May but then had an email telling me it was cancelled and that the next course was the end of July. I wasn’t happy with this and time was trotting on so they very kindly organised a date in June which I accepted. Near that date they cancelled again so I had no option but to attend the end of July date. I had no reason at all to complete the modules I did for months on end, there were two that maybe were helpful and could have been done in a shorter space of time.
I had an apology from Georgie for all the messing around and a promise of an anatomy book as a gesture to make up for the delay in my training. The book never arrived!
I decide to not do the Botox as I am not a prescribing nurse, I told mata this when originally booking the course but they did not tell me I could be put in touch with a prescribing nurse. More time asked for me.
I attended the training in Cardiff which I have to say was great, Alex the trainer was knowledgeable and friendly. Four delegates and plenty of models to practice on.
I have taken the decision to go to another company for further training now as I feel the organisation is very ap hazard. Very disappointed on the whole, but again the training day very good.

Have been about three times for treatment and have decided not to go again. The coorinator appears uninterested and vague when emailing as she dosent respond and if your lucky to get through on phone she comes across as uninterested and left feeling like a nuisance. The professional staff are wonderful and caring and i was happy with my results, however i fail to understand when an appointment is made that you are waiting for hours over your appointed time! This happened on each occasion and the last visit was the last straw! I dont mind waiting an hour but three hours is unacceptable.

I have just enrolled on the Diploma and I am excited to get a new level 7 diploma so i can transition as a nurse into aesthetics. Already I have been on the foundation days and thoroughly enjoyed the standard of practice and level of training.

I was a Model for a MATA course, im not happy with my results at all, I wasn't treated very well at my appointment and came out feeling very upset. I have tried to complain but im getting absolutely nowhere with it. The Admin lady doesn't get back to me and im finding her most unhelpful. bad experience from begging to end, most unprofessional

I am not only very happy with the results, but so pleased with the treatment and level of service I received.

The doctor was incredibly professional, kind and actually listened to me (as opposed to other model treatment companies I have used in the past where you are required to not talk as a model, but rather to just sit as a canvas for trainees to work on).

The three trainees who conducted my treatment were also kind, friendly and genuinely interested to learn while still respecting me as a customer.

I highly recommend MATA and their services.

I had a wonderful time

I booked my course as a late delegate with only a few days notice. From my initially booking talking with two coordinators Elle and Annequa, I found there sales pitch on the course not pushy, or urgent for a booking. They gave me the relevant information needed about the course and were more than happy to awnser any questions I had for them. The coordinators didn't give me a 9-5pm service as I had various emails after hours which gave me the support I needed as and when needed.

As I am currently half way through my foundation weekend course with MATA, I have found my experience to date excellent.
My two trainers have different preferences which has worked great on the Botox day because it gave us diversity in two correct methods of each procedure.

Theory was touched on this morning with relevant information taught relating to the practical injecting live models. Opportunities for question and awnser was throughout the whole day, where each base was covered in detail. We had more than enough patients for live practicing. Each delegate got an equally shared amount of time, if anyone became stuck or needed guidance a friendly face was their to help.

During treatments we had the opportunity to learn consultation and notes via one of their recommend apps, I was originally going to be paper based but this app has made me want to become a paperless clinician.

Lunch was provided with drinks throughout the day, our course was due to finish at 5 but we was still practicing towards 6pm with no rush to push us out he door from the educators or coordinator. They were open and approachable to ask any questions at any time.

The VLE learning modules online before the training weekend are packed with relevant information which I will refer back to in practice. The site is very accsessable and easy to use.

I am looking forward to my dermal filler course in the morning, before traveling back home to get my own aesthetic business started and hopefully thrieving. I am basing my new career on quality training and that is what I feel I have achieve with MATA, my two trainers have exceed expectations today, as a nurse I have felt at no disadvantage to my peers who are trained doctors.
