> Unexpected customs fees, no help from seller

I ordered a monocle for around €50, and then had to pay €16 extra to receive it in France (customs + La Poste handling fee).

While I understand UK is outside the EU, the website gave no clear warning before checkout. When I contacted the seller, they simply said they couldn’t help.

Not a great experience. I would have appreciated at least partial compensation or a clearer warning. Won’t buy again.

Terrible, impossible to communicate with, phone that never gets answered, messages unanswered, then a bill for an exchange already payed for, still unresolved, amateurs.

After a slightly dubiuous start. monocle madness have really made up for it. Replacing both monocles I bought after the galleries broke. Thank you. I love my monocles. More people need to wear them. The Nazis spoilt it for the rest of us. Let’s hope that changes. Thanks again

Contrary to their website the monocle was only 35mm in diameter, not 37mm. I returned the item for the refund offered but only received a partial refund. They claim that there is no refund for the prescription lens. However, as the diameter was too small and not as advertised this is not acceptable. Their customer "service" is very arrogant and not helpful. Avoid this company at all costs!
