Absolute bullies

Absolute bullies. Do not agree to a tenancy with them. They gave a working girl mental trauma from threatening her with not being able to take a day off work to agree to a electric check. Repairmen would boot on her door and everything. The women on the phone were just catty and told her to go private landlord then. Disgusting company!!!!

I have been a tenant for almost 20…

I have been a tenant for almost 20 years and in that time lived in 2 houses. Both have been riddled with damp. My latest house is subsiding , the internal doors dont shut properly , the windows have sunk . We have had inspectors out months ago and still heard nothing . In fact I mentioned the subsiding when I moved in 12 years ago .. We have cracks around door frames from the house moving . The bottom toilet flushes to somewhere where they cant find out where the water goes. Its ridiculous, I'm honestly scared my house will collapse into my neighbours one day

I have been a tenant in my home for…

I have been a tenant in my home for over 47 years, first owned by TMBC, then New Charter, now Jigsaw.. My home is a maisonette, there is a one bedroom flat above. The tenant of which, is the worst there has ever been. Apparently New Charter have given her permission to keep a dog, which is entirely against their rules. Clearly written in the tenants handbook. This dog, the one with four legs, constantly keeps me awake at night and early morning, barking and howling. As for the one with two legs, comes to life late at night, boyfriends {visitors} stopovers, call them what you like, constantly obstructing the garages with cars. So called visitors, throwing cigarette ends in my gardens front and rear, spitting off the balcony, again front and rear, contents of Indian meal thrown from balcony onto my shed roof, {this was gathered up and dumped by myself, on the desk in main reception area at New Charter head office} only for me to get a rollocking because it could have caused a health risk apparently. Well yes, thats why I did not want it on my shed roof ! The latest is bags of dog cack, thrown from the front balcony onto my vehicle roof. This was politely put through the owners letter box! And the remedy from New Charter to sort the problem out, is to MOVE ME to another property. Have these Rats in the Flats, no morals or manners ? Lets not forget that New Charter regard themselves as a "responsible landlord". They are utter hypocrites, who have their rules, and are prepared to bend them as they think fit, they love to move the goalposts as they go along. You could NOT get a WORSE landlord. Move in at your peril.

Absolutely terrible repair service and below standard homes

Absolutely terrible re repairs. Front door been leaking for 5 years and still not fixed. Apparently I'm a liar because the Inspector couldn't see the rain coming in because it wasn't actually raining when he arrived .... Inspectors they send out aren't there to help or inspect properties, they're there to bully you into submission so they don't have to spend the money on repairs. Only option is to go legal to force them to do their job. Please also ensure you have a witness if an inspector is due to visit especially if you're a female alone as they will call you a liar and attempt to bully you.

Also found out recently that their repair guys also have other contracts such as with the Police for repairing doors they've smashed in - no doubt that pays more than actually dealing with repairs for tenants so explains why the whole service is so terrible and has been since the Government forced them to lower rents
because they'd been charging too much. I notice we didn't get a refund on that money we'd already paid though. Lets hope the Government notice they're forcing some of their tenants to live in below standard homes and do something about that next.

Absolutely ridiculous

Absolutely ridiculous. I have had problems with a new charter tenant. She is aggressive and breaks all sorts of laws. I am a private Owner and I have asked new charter several times to speak to her as her behaviour is unacceptable. It involves race hate and aggression towards children. I am getting no reaction. The has been going on for 2 years. They say that they are trying to arrange a date to come and see us to speak to us. We have been waiting for 2 months. They don't seem to be taking us seriously and don't class this situation as n emergency.

Since becoming part of the Jigsaw group…

Since becoming part of the Jigsaw group they have taken a turn for the worst. They don`t consider having no heating or hot water to be an emergency. Before Jigsaw this would be fixed in 4 hours, now they expect you wait 4 days or more. The staff at the office are not helpful either. The housing officers are out right liars.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Reported several problems with the home including, severe black mould all around the house, gaping hole in back door, etc. Repair team/inspection team do not show up and when they do its on a day when they have been asked not too as nobody will be in. I have taken time off work for them not to turn up on a specified day, that they arranged, only for them to not bother. Then they turn up the next day with no communication and leave letters saying you were not in. It's disgraceful to be honest. It's no wonder they don't bother getting in touch when they have decided to be more interested in the partnership with jigsaw (or something like that). Do yourselves a favour and look elsewhere

Damp andould in brand new house

Moved in to a brand new home 16 days ago from new charter housing in ashton-under-lyne, manchester, a foul smell coming round the house like sewers, drainage people came out said it doesn't look like the drains, maybe the durgo valve on the cistern in the loft is blocked, but still waiting to come and look at it, we have dampness and mould in our kitchen cupboards, been told to wipe with household cleaners and bleach and ring back in 3 wks! Nothing gets rid of mould eapecially hosehold cleaners, bleach or mould and mildew remover, it has appeared since we had bad rain so obviously there is a damp proofing problem, it is at the gable end of the house, we have no flooring down in the downstairs part of the house because we have heard off new charter that in other new builds they have ended up digging the floor up because of the smell problem, plus the cupboard problem they could end up ripping the cupboards down, plaster etc, we can't afford to replace flooring, i have copd and my partner is disabled and has numerous illnesses where the uncovered cemented floor causes a hell of a lot of dust so you can imagine how that is affecting us! And the mould is not good for your health! Then there's the stress levels, it has been hard as it is over the past 4 yrs with the illnesses etc, now the move and a brand new spanking house with all these problems and new charter stating they are not classed as emergencies! 12 yrs ago in our last new charter property i reported a crack in the back room ceiling which was caused by my 8 yr old daughter being in the bath, it turned out the plumber who put the new bathroom in never put the over flow pipe on the barh and didn't put all the sealant round the bathroom, kids always top up the water to the overflow, new charter said the crack was fine and nothing to worry about, the crack got bigger over the years (without anymore water damage just through vibrations etc) we had to keep cleaning debri and dust up, i reported it numerous times to juat excuse after excuse, then in 2016 someone with a little bit of sense came and he said it needs to be checked for asbestos, the crack is now the full length of the ceiling, low & behold it came back that it was asbestos! Sonrhe whole ceiling in the backroom and the kitchen had to be replaced, 11 years that took, who knows what damage that has caused myself, my partner & my daughter! They just don't care! Then there is MCI group who built the house who obviously didn't do a proper job but that is for another review!
