so here's my experience...

so here's my experience...
a representative comes to my house a few times...very pleasant/amiable...seems competently knowledgeable. on the second visit she leaves me with hearing aids to try out. i believe they were signas?
they were ok. 1500e each. not a great improvement. but i might have went with them...
on the 3rd day i go to the app that the rep set me up with on my phone to make adjustments...i discover that there are limited available adjustments unLESS i wish to upgrade the app...and get this...i will be charged 15e a WEEK for this...
and that was that, as far as dealing with this company. i had TOLD the rep i was tired of it seeming as if people couldn't wait to put their hand in my pocket to remove some amount of money...and yet she seemingly overlooked explaining this about the app. it might have just slipped her mind but then that amounts to an important oversight. one that would have saved everyone the inconveniences involved in my returning the apparatus...
i'm sure the company will respond with some polite dribble. they ARE polite.
but i also want to say...almost all the quality hearing aids seem overpriced considering the tech. these hearing aids aren't far removed, tech-wise from musical ear buds...mine are pretty good and they only cost 70e. for the pair. the pair of hearing aids i was looking at are three THOUsand euros. are they going to try to say that the tech is 40+ times more sophisticated...? i would hope not. i know for CERtain it isn't. and then, again, there's a matter of the extra 60e month for the app that SHOULD come WITH the hearing aid purchase...
what an industry. i would think in the NL that the government would regulate it better...but maybe i'm just being naive...
in any case, i just wanted to give prospective purchasers a warning as to what to expect.
and btw, basic health insurance won't pay a penny for decent hearing aids...

so here's my response to THEIR response...great how you dressed up your response in the best, possible light...just like the person who was here, who should have TOLD me about the app's hidden cost if i wanted the full benefit from it...and now that the hearing aids have been returned, how am i supposed to check the app out to see what happened before?
besides this, i've had my say and will let people decide for themselves about your company/hearing aids...

Team Oogvoororen

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that your trial period ended with this impression, especially after the positive contact you had with our hearing care professional.

We would, however, like to clarify one important point. The official Signia app used with the hearing aids does not require a €15-per-week subscription or paid upgrade to access the normal adjustment features of the hearing aids. We also do not charge any weekly or monthly fee for using the Signia app.

We would therefore very much like to understand what you saw on your phone, as this does not correspond with the Signia app or the service we provide. It is possible that another app, advertisement or subscription screen was displayed. We completely understand that seeing a charge of €15 per week would raise concerns, and we would have been happy to look into this with you before the hearing aids were returned.

Regarding the price of hearing aids, we understand the comparison with consumer earbuds. Although they may look similar, hearing aids are medical devices that are individually fitted and programmed based on a person's hearing loss and include professional hearing care, adjustments and aftercare. Nevertheless, we fully appreciate that the value and improvement should feel worthwhile to you.

We are sorry that this misunderstanding contributed to your decision to stop the trial. If you are willing to share a screenshot or further details of the subscription message you saw, we would genuinely like to investigate what happened.

Kind regards,
Team Oogvoororen
