I have now been waiting over two years…

I have now been waiting over two years for my holiday refund money. My holiday was cancelled at the last minute to Vietnam as a result I had paid the full amount of £2,451 I get getting fobbed off each time I phoned telling me it would be the following month. I am at my wits end what to do next

Difficulty in contacting Singles Horizons

I have been trying to contact Singles Horizons to sort out a booking. I managed to talk to a representative for a few minutes after weeks of trying but the line was poor. They said they would contact me via email that evening but that didn't happen. So I'm back to attempting to get through by phone & email again. Very frustrating! This is a very poor service.

In response to your review of our service. We are surprised at your comments as we have spoken to you on numerous occasions regarding your booking.

Just to recap your booking was cancelled due to the pandemic as we note in October 2020 and subsequently a voucher for the sum paid was placed on your booking.

You contacted us recently to advise you could not travel on the next available date and therefore wished to cancel. In view of the disappointment which we understand re the original booking cancelation, we decided to honor your booking and give you a voucher for 12 months going forwards to the value of your original booking.

It is never our intention to have dissatisfied customers and sincerely apologise for any upset caused to you and shall certainly contact you again to clarify this response to your review.

Still waiting for a refund

Still waiting for a refund from this company for a UK New Year break cancelled due to Covid. Thankfully we had only paid the deposit of £200. Was told we could transfer to another holiday so did not pursue the refund immediately as we appreciated the difficulties travel companies were facing. This was a big mistake as we haven't found a suitable replacement holiday and our requests for a refund have been ignored. Have contacted PayPal but we are now outside their protected period.

Be very careful in your dealings with…

Be very careful in your dealings with this company. I booked a Christmas event with them in September 2020, but due to COVID-19 this was cancelled a few days before it was due to happen. I called the company on 22 December to request a refund and was told thatit would take 28 days (twice what travel legislation says it should) and I accepted this, sending an email the following day to confirm my request. Singles Horizons did not acknowledge either the call or the email so on 14 January I called them again, and was told rather rudely, that my refund would arrive in 28 days from the request and not before. The date for the refund came and went with no sign of the £599 in my account, so I called the company again (they don't actually answer the phone but generally call you back within a couple of hours), no reply, emailed, no reply, so after a week I contacted PayPal's reconcilliation service to request they refund my money, and lo and behold I now have my refund after a further 2 weeks. This company has a real communication problem (I.E. they don't communicate), and don't seem to be very good at refunding your money if the trip doesn't go ahead, be wary!!!

In response to your comments raised, we would like to remind you that we did communicate with you on your Christmas break cancellation as soon as we where advise that due to Covid 19 restriction changes close to the event date, we had no option but to cancel.
For this we could only sincerely apologise and we did indeed advise you that you would gain your refund in 28 days.

We note that on the date due of refund which we believe was a Friday, we set up a refund on our system which would in turn be actioned on the Monday. As you had contacted Paypal for your refund during that time we informed Paypal we had set up your refund for action as advised, but as you had already actioned this via Paypal this would have resulted in a duplicate refund.

During this period we have communicated with Paypal on this matter and have settled your refund directly with them.

We can assure you that we did try and contact you by telephone during this time and gained no reply, the reason for the call was to explain the delay of a weekend and to apologise,
We can accept that there are sometimes delays in responding on occasions due to the inevitable circumstances of lockdown in which we operate and for this we are extremely sorry.

As a company we are reputable and certainly would never wish to cause any customers anxiety regarding their booked events. As you will appreciate during these unrepresented times delays do occasionally occur due to many factors which are often out of our control in respect of government guidance and the inevitable effects which we trust will revert to normal times soon.

May we offer our apologies for the disappointment regarding the cancelation of your Christmas event and to assure you we shall certainly take on board your concerned points raised.

WARNING

WARNING! Do not book with this company. It is "Solitair Holidays" who have terrible reviews. Check their ATOL protection number on the ATOL website and you will see it is the same outfit.

Edit: why would I use a pseudonym to post a grievance? Because like many others you have left me out of pocket. I want to WARN others to not share my experience, but I don't wish to have my name published on the internet.

We are very clear to all our customers and informed our database of the changes back in November ’19. We are registered as Solitair Holidays trading as Singles Horizons, this can been found on all our correspondence, website and Facebook page.

On the suggestion of ATOL we changed our name to Singles Horizons, due to how tarnished Solitair Holidays had become due to the discovery of fraudulent action. Many of our customers have been affected by this matter and are aware of the current situation, we are in a legal process to right the wrongs.

Singles Horizons has a brilliant new team with an excellent work ethic to our customers, as you can see from our previous comments from happy customers, that we are on the right track.

After checking our records, we do not have a ‘Jeff Smith’ on our database so would question why you have such a grievance to post a WARNING to our community.

Everything was excellent we were all…How to enjoy a weekend break

Everything was excellent we were all given a talk of what to expect over the three night stay by the host.
We had the options of various activities to enhance our stay.
The food was very good and the evening entertainment was remarkable with plenty of dancing and good company, the venue was wonderful very picturesque looking out over lovely countryside, all very nice and thank you Singles Horizons for putting it all together. I will be definitely booking another soon break soon, keep up the good work.

My first time on a singles holiday .

My first time on a singles holiday .

Alison who booked my holiday made me feel
Confidant with my booking . She was extremely professional and I received my confirmation
The same day.

She also gave me a follow up call the before asking me if I was ok and to enjoy my holiday.
When I arrived at Nidd Hall I was welcomed by SA host .
She made me feel so welcome. After check in -
She invited all the guests for a welcome meeting to the oak room . She explained clearly of what
Our weekend entailed and what Nidd hall was providing . She offered us an easy read copie of the history of Nidd hall. After the welcome meeting .
Sarah from reception then gave us a tour of -
The restaurant , entertainment room, bar ,pool,
gym ,and activities .
Sarah was extremely pleasant and caring with the group .

We were given a tour of the restaurant, bar and entertainment room. reserved were vip seating for our group in the Restaurant and Entertainment room.

We all met up for breakfast ,dinner and dancing .
We exchanged phone numbers with the host and the group . It made me feel safe and confidant
Of travelling alone.

The entertainment was of a very high standard .
Most enjoyable

The Host presented a card and a huge helium balloon for one of the gusts birthday!
It was such a lovely thought .

The host made me feel very welcome and was always available by phone or Sarah Host From Warner’s
Was available On reception .

Thanks for a quality weekend . I will defiantly be booking my next holiday . Already been on your website .

Excellent venue Food…

Excellent venue Food service,entertainment,activities,staff all very good. Everything ran smoothly, temp rep was at reception when I checked in to assist and greet.
Meet and greet meeting was ok, rep in difficult position as she was ``standing in'',but she was friendly, obviously would have been better if she'd been better acquainted with hotel. Gave out her number for emergency problems which was reassuring.

The experience was really good

The experience was really good. I had very nice company all weekend and we all got along splendidly!! Could there be more information in the Horizons email to guide guests as to what to expect, what can be booked, and perhaps names of other Horizon guests?

This is the first event we have promoted for Warner Hotels and we greatly welcome your comments.

On your points raised, we shall endeavor to provide a more detailed report covering the events and itinerary information for the weekend. Changes are made daily to the in-house programme, these are due to weather dependent and group interest. For future all Spa and Beauty treatments will be bookable before arrival to ensure availability.

Due to data protection, we are unable to inform individuals of other customer details. This is noted and we are currently working on a forum, whereby you can chat before you travel, giving people a better sense of their fellow companions and helps to break the ice before you travel.

Give this NEW company a chance!

As a new company, Singles horizons have helped me with my questions regarding a holiday and replied very quickly to my queries in a positive way.
I'm hoping they will turn a corner now that previous company problems are being dealt with and hope to enjoy a happy, trouble free holiday with them later this year.

We have recently re-branded, due to fraudulent action discovered within the company, this is now in the hands of our legal team. Solitair Holidays have gone through many changes in the last 6 month and unfortunately the production of our Summer brochure has been put on hold while we addressed other issues.

I agree there are no comments made on our Trust Pilot site, this is due to the fact our first holiday as Solitair ltd trading Singles Horizons, does not commence until 28th February. We trust our reviews will increase as the season progresses.

We are saddened you feel you have reason to write about us in this way, and I can assure you it is never our intention to has dissatisfied customers.

This is the new name for Solitair…a rip off firm.

This is the new name for Solitair Holidays.

Please do not use this company under any circumstance. They will rip you off, steal your money and cancel your holiday less than a week before you are planning to fly out.

You will then be spoken to by staff saying "Well that is what insurance is for"

You will then be fobbed off by further rude staff and hung up by the Director, a woman called Peggy.

You will not receive a full refund and be lied to, then given a sob story that they have been ripped off by a share holder.

You will then be sent spam email advertising the company after they have ruined your summer.

There are so many other singles travel companies who are so much nicer and better.
