First booking all things went wrong. They took a double amount of money: my husband made a reservation and tried to book but payments kept hanging and not going through. So we tried it from my account, but it was immediately rejected. In my naive mind I though the payment actually didn't go through (as would be the case with pretty much any other company), but Snappcar is holding it for 4 days now with a vague promise that it should be returned 'probably tomorrow'.
Since my husbands booking was expiring, I quickly registered and tried to book the same car. Explained the situation to the person who we were going to rent the car from, who was VERY weird. I'm heavily pregnant (about to pop pregnant) and not in the mindspace for driving. So told the person renting the car out, that I will happy go there (not far from where we live), check the car in, and hubby will come in 10 minutes to pick it up. Hubby fully registered on Snappcar as additional driver, so shouldn't be an issue after I check out the car.
For some reason the guy said it's a no go. Why I still don't know. I kept trying to call him throughout, but was constantly getting his voicemails. Checked his address - the postcode doesn't exist, so sent a message asking for correct details. No reply. 10 minutes later a reply to say I'm very late now and he's leaving. Obviously I was late - I didn't have a confirmation of address! And I won't be cycling in circles with my heavy pregnant belly...
Asked him to cancel the booking. You guessed it - no reply.
So I didn't get a car and paid for him having a normal day and being an a**.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Now Snappcar in their response below are blaming me for causing them trouble with my payment? I mean, it was rejected, so why take it and then complain about 'host of issues'? This is pretty straight forward stuff if you ask me. Their customer service team could do with some training with actual customer service skills. They don't seem to read the messages properly and you have to literally explain every little detail. And still, they blame me. Oh well. Lesson learned again. Just hope I'll get (some?) of my money back for this fiasco of an experiment.
Seriously people, just don't bother.
I got charged 50 euros on top of a traffic fine (which I did opposition for and has not being decided yet). The company is failing to provide proof of what are they taking the extra money for.
They blocked my account, their reply are simply redirecting you to their website FAQ section in which it's clearly written that they can get 25 euros more of service. I will for sure refer to a consumer association.
It's their responsibility as a company to supply clear information. They should write that after 2 weeks from the fine (even if you opposed) they will take additional 50 euros from your account and they will block it. Never using this service again.

It was my first time renting via this site and I must say snappcar is the best site to rent cars. Because the app is professionally organized and put together. The people that are renting are really friendly. I've experienced it so I know snappcar is trustworthy.

Not a good experience while renting through Snappcar. They advertise that they are cheaper than regular car hire. However I ended up paying 54% more than Avis current rates. This is because there are mileage limits and its not clearly mentioned while hiring a car (atleast for a first time user). So even with mileage limits you pay for fuel and the final price was 54% higher than an Avis hire. So careful while using the service
