Just to let you know luke&michael where excellent in fitting our new boiler everything was left clean and tidy as though they had never been hear, would definitely recommend them to any one who needs a plumber ,the plumbers are priory heating from st osyth yours p j mcneill 😂👍

Terrible boiler and worse service

We were recommended a Vitodens 111-W (£2200) for our new property in 2014. All new system - pipes and radiators with a "great boiler". Paid for the works - magnaflow, additional filters, inhibitor. Serviced every year. 3 years in (2017) - F2 fault (pretty common, google it). Viessman engineer turned up and firstly said it should be condemned, and then said needed a new heat exchanger. This was replaced and he wrote all over the paperwork "Warranty cancelled". This was yr 3 of a 5 yr warranty and Viessmann told me I could have 10!

The engineer said the fault was "Crap in the system" - when I asked how (new pipes, new radiators) he said the plumber probably put it there for business.

Since then hot water sensor went (water only heating to 20C) in 2018, and heat exchanger again in 2020 along with sensor again. We are now stuck with a boiler that often F2s.

I cannot recommend enough that you buy a different brand. The repair guy from Viessmann was terrible and rude (did I mention it took 7 days to get the part - no heating or water for 7 day in Feb!). The boiler is clearly unreliable. Yes it may be one of a dud batch but do you want to take that risk when paying £2200?? I won't be again.

The last time we visited your address was in 2018 where we replaced a sensor. We attended in 2017 and replaced the plate heat exchanger as goodwill because of debris. Debris is not covered under warranty as per our T&C's.

You were given a 5 year standard warranty. There is nothing on our system to say your warranty had been cancelled. We were not offering an extended 10 year warranty in 2014 which is when you had boiler fitted. Most domestic boilers have a plate heat exchanger as well as a main heat exchanger. The main heat exchanger is stainless steel and comes with a 10 year standard warranty. The plate heat exchanger has the same warranty as the boiler itself, so 5 years.

The cost of £2200 was the quotation you received from your installer who is independent from Viessmann.

New Combi Viessmann 100 installed by great local installation company, RGW Installations Ltd. Boiler been running now almost a week. All seems to be working fine. Neatly installed in the airing cupboard. Fairly quiet while it is running.

Pre-plumbing jig for Vitodens 100-W…

Pre-plumbing jig for Vitodens 100-W combi boiler is not compatible with the filling loop supplied with the boiler - no satisfactory resolution available for this from Viessmann. Jig suppliers merely say that the jig exludes the filling loop and do not make it clear that it is incompatible with it.

I had a Vitodens 100-W WB1B open vent…

I had a Vitodens 100-W WB1B open vent boiler installed with a capacity of 26kW to replace a 13 y.o. Promax boiler. I did this as a planned preventative maintenance action in case the existing boiler conked out in the forthcoming winter of 2020. My decision entirely and selection largely based on the stainless steel heat exchanger. The existing boiler had been randomly locking out on ignition for about a year but still hobbled on.
It is fair to say that this Viessmann boiler is about as basic as boilers can get in terms of controls. There is one mechanical thermostat with numbered positions, so it is trial and error on what to set it at. As I am only using for hot water just now (it is summertime) I am using it set at 3.5 this provides a water temperature of about 45deg C. This is plenty hot enough for showering via a pressurised Sadia tank. Don’t be fooled into setting the water temperature to 60deg C that’ll just waste energy - to my knowledge Legionnaires disease does not affect domestic hot water systems in regular use.
For winter I aim to get a 70deg C flow and a 40deg C (or less) return water temperature. This ensures the boiler is condensing and efficient - I cut my heating bills in half using this method - but it takes a fair bit of effort to balance the radiators over several days to get the desired result.
The installer was a recommended Viessmann fitter, it cost £2,300 (excl. VAT) to install including a magnetic filter, power flush and Fernox protection. Installation took almost two days with re-routing of the flow and return pipes and gas feed. Plus cutting back plaster to fit the new flue.
I docked a point for three reasons:
1. the user document does not tell you how to make sure you use the boiler efficiently
2. there is no control to set a known water temperature - it’s guesswork using the dial
3. the LCD display has no backlight, other models do

Quiet and Reasonably Priced

Had the Vitodens 100W boiler fitted by iHeat a few days ago as my old boiler was about to die. Modern, quiet and improved hot water throughout. Not needed to use the heating yet but all straightforward. Very impressed with iHeat booking and installing system. Engineer was a 10-year British Gas veteran. All warranty paperwork sent through swiftly. Boiler had a Which Best Buy and the 10 year warranty was a definite selling point for me. Very happy with it.

Not as good as Glow Worm

Had a Viessmann now for over five years. In that time it has two chargeable calls for a blocked plate to plate. Never had that problem ever before.
Viessmann blame my pipes and rads but the plumber came yesterday to check the rads and pipes and say they are clear.
Based on this I think they are far worse than our old glow worm.

Excellent boiler for a reasonable price.

My new Viessmann has been in for 2 weeks and has improved my domestic heating and hot water ten fold, obviously it's early days but very pleased with my choice. Considered fitting a Vaillant/ or Worcester Bosch which are also good boilers but very pleased I opted for the Viessmann. Quiet, efficient, and virtually works itself .
Used Heatable to install my boiler, excellent service and expertly fitted in a day by the plumber Luke, with a 10 year guarantee, system flush, Adey magnatec, & Limescale reducer fitted.
5 star recommendation for both Viessmann & Heatable.......... so far !

Our Viessmann boiler developed a leak…

Our Viessmann boiler developed a leak last week, we contacted the company who installed it and they were closed due to the Corona-virus lock-down. We managed to work out that the boiler was still under warranty so called the Viessmann customer service line. The service we received was excellent, they confirmed that the boiler was still under warranty and that an engineer would be with us the following day. The engineer called us to confirm our address details, discuss our problems and said he would be with us by 9am the next morning. He arrived a few minutes early and had brought everything he needed to repair our leaking boiler. Many thanks to all the UK staff who helped in these difficult times.

Veissmann 100w- 30kw

After carefull research on best boilers for 2020 decided to go for the Viessmann brand and decide for the Vitodens 100w- 30kw. It came with a 10 year warranty & 5 year service plan with Hug. The Installer (Simon Batty) from hug was very freindly & honest and fitted the boiler perfectly and explained step by step on how to use all the special features on this boiler. overall exellent boiler and excellent installer.
