Very disappointing service from a garage I thought I could trust
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Whitson Prestige, where I purchased my Golf R in October 2023. Initial issues were addressed, but the overall experience has been marked by unresponsiveness and poor problem handling. Despite numerous attempts to resolve issues under their warranty, it has been seven months, and I am still waiting.
The repair required work inside the steering wheel, which caused the horn to stop working. I promptly reported this and an ongoing oil issue, but nothing has been done. I've made at least 10 follow-up attempts via texts and calls, all acknowledged but disregarded.
Twice, I managed to book the car in for service. Once, I was told 10 minutes before arrival that there was no suitable courtesy car available, despite leaving work early and being told there was a car. Another time, I was offered a courtesy van, which I declined due to my commute requirements. I was promised callbacks following each event which I never received. I even had the oil leak diagnosed by my local Audi dealership but Whitstone did nothing.
I made multiple phone calls, often ignored or inadequately addressed, with false promises and a general lack of care once they had my money after paying in cash. Now, my car faces an impending MOT failure and an oil leak due to unresolved issues.
I urge potential customers to consider my experience. I cannot stress how disappointed I have been over the last 7 months of service with Whitson. The lack of communication, unresponsiveness, and failure to honor the warranty have been frustrating and totally unacceptable. Please look elsewhere for reliable service.
