Funds withheld!

I have still not been able to receive the wedding funds from our honeymoon fund as the company has yet to "verify" my documents after numerous requests over the past month (our wedding was over a month ago). There does not seem to be any customer services dept to speak to and the only contact number just asks you to leave a voicemail. Avoid at all costs!!

We are sorry for that. We supervise the transfer of funds between individuals. This is not very common for a company, as money is usually exchanged through banks. Because of this, we have many laws and security protocols to comply with. We regret that the validation of your documents is not taking place within the desired timeframe.

Platform was what we were looking for

Platform was what we were looking for. Cash only, option to have set price or open contributions, and seemed to be on the lower end of the fees charged (and we could have the fee covered by us instead of our guests).
Was disappointed to learn that there are only 3 free transfers from our Zankyou account to our bank account before a nearly $5 fee applies each time - to me this wasn't made clear prior to signing up.
Had some troubles with our first transfer, but customer service was able to fix it up quickly.

Very friendly help

I got a bit stuck with a bank transfer process which was wrongfully rejected. One of the ZankYou staff, a lady named Tamara, was very helpful and proactive. She looked into the problem and took action on my behalf, and was very good at communicating updates to me. All was sorted thanks to her help.

Great wedding website

Patricia was really great helping in one minor technical issue. The site is easy to work and allows you to customize almost everything. It was also the best site for a multilingual couple (Portuguese, English and French in our families).

Bizarre and odd, do not recommend.

After some research, I have decided to go with zankyou to set up a wedding registry and it ended up being the most bizarre experience I have ever had with the websites.

The process of actually creating your webpage is not hard, although it does have a bit of a dated feel, especially if you don't pay for a premium, however it does the job. The amount zankyou charges is OK when compared to other similar websites. However the cheery on the cake is the bloody ID verification. Not only they require 2 forms of ID, they also want your bank statement. I honestly felt like applying to NASA for a job. I have submitted the documents thrice and thrice I was told that the name is not the same on the documents, even though it was the same. The customer service wasn't much help either, as essentially they told me to just keep trying to upload the documents again and again. As if my name will magically change?

Long story short, I closed the account and simply set up the Wix website and attached a PayPal link to one of the pages. Highly recommend doing that instead.

We regret that your experience has not been satisfactory, we tried to communicate through the help chat, since the problem was not a different name, the contract was signed with abbreviations and the ID's cannot be considered compatible with it registration, so it was necessary to wait for the payment platform to consider it valid or to ask our IT service for help in placing the full name in the contract, unfortunately we didn´t get a response from you.

I want to warn you that if you are…

I want to warn you that if you are contributing money to a couple for the wedding, we had a terrible experience. I would highly recommend PayPal over Zankyou! The fees are less & the money goes through right away. My son had to provide four different forms of ID to access the money I’d sent him!through Zankyou! Zankyou withdrew the money twice from my bank account! It was a mess that took me weeks to fix & my bank had to step in. The only way to access customer service is through a live chat. There were three operators & none were ever available. I had to always leave a message & someone would leave a message the next day. When I notified them they had withdrawn the money twice from my bank account I had to provide proof from my bank. Zankyou said they received the information & it would be processed, but never was from their end. The next day a new operator said the person who had been “helping” me was gone & there was no record of the documentation I’d provided. To top things off, I’d paid extra for a gift box with announcement & that was never sent!
