This is an intermediary - no own fleet/drivers/helpers!

Customer service - Dayne and Chloe, as well as occasionally Philipp, were all polite and helpful on the phone. But beyond that there is nothing i can praise here. My driver was 2 hours late (which means he arrived at about 2 pm, although I was given a time slot 8-12), by which time the extra man power had gone, and I had to get involved myself in the uploading, as time was tight (I needed to go to pick up son from school). My knees were killing me the next two days (I have arthrosis, and running up and down the stairs with heavy load does not really help). The extra man arrived when we'd done much of the job. Same at the other end in Italy - the extra man wasn't there, and the driver wasn't told he had to unload. All my attempts to call EM failed - their phones did not respond, my emails went unanswered as well. The problem appears to be that European Moving don't operate their own fleet - instead they hire occasional man and van from Eastern Europe, and even this is not done directly, but rather through another intermediary. As my driver put it "before your contract came to us, it was sold a few times" - it turns out what I have been promised by European Moving does not mean anything to the driver, as he has a different boss. All in one - a very unhappy experience. If I had to move again, I'd rather go through all local movers who might be tempted to go and see Italy, and even if they are somewhat more expensive (by the way, I had to pay £240 extra after it turned out that my first contract only included extra helper in Italy, but not in Glasgow!) - at least I would be in a direct contact with them, and no intermediary (-ies) between us.
