they will take your money even when they don't have stock
In short, EB took my money for an order they couldn't fulfil, fobbed me off and wasted my time for a few days, then said they would refund me in a few days (still not seen the money yet). don't trust them more detail.....
ordered a portable AC unit on Wednesday morning. Rang EB ahead of ordering to check it was in stock and that I could have next day delivery - was assured this was the case. Made the order, paid the next day delivery charge. Rang EB twice on the Thursday to flag I had no status updates to say the unit had been shipped...I was fobbed off with assurances it was shipped and on its way...of course it didn't turn up. I ring this morning to question where the unit is...no one can tell me. Also been told that customer service are so busy I can only speak to someone in accounts and of course they aren't fully up to speed with shipping. now just had confirmation that the unit was never in stock in the first place and they will process a refund in the next 4 days.

I am very sorry for this, I can see that one way or another your order was processed but due to a technical issue it was not received by our external warehouse. As I am sure you can understand, we had an extreme level of orders at this time, with order volumes raising by up to 1000% all of last week.Our Customer Service team was then overrun with queries and calls, to the point that our accounts and marketing team had to take calls. This is extremely abnormal for us but as the level of demand was so high, we had to take measures in order to cope, so I am very sorry that your order was affected.
I can assure you that our normal level of service is extremely good and reliable, and I hope that one day you will give us a chance to demonstrate this to you.
