I’ve recently tried to order a number of products from third party suppliers on Amazon. All the products stated clearly they were free delivery. However, I selected two different products from the same supplier and pressed 1-click. I check the order and £3.99 had been applied to the order for post and packaging without my consent. I was not notified that postage and packaging would be applied. On the product page it stated clearly that the postage was free of charge. If I had not checked the order I would have been charged without confirming agreement. This apparently applies to many products that are from China so BEWARE. I believe this is knowingly over charging by Amazon who permit these suppliers on their site.

Poor quality customer service/poor design of blinds

This company is not offering bespoke blinds, it is offering blinds that fit their manufacturing criteria.
I purchased blinds last year, as the width of the blind is wider than the material, the blind is designed with two panels down the sides. It looks great in the window. Hillary's have now changed their design so they no longer do panels, they use two pieces of material and join it in the middle. Who wants a seam down the middle of a blind, so be warned. Obviously, this saving them money as rather than joining three pieces of material, they are now only joining two. Therefore this appears to be an exercise in cost saving on their part, although there is no evidence that this has been passed onto the customer from the quote I recently received.
In addition, the customer service team are as far as you will ever get when you talk to Hillary Blinds, although I understand they do have customer service managers, these people are too important to talk to customers. Well, I am a customer no longer, there are plenty of blind manufacturers in the UK, who will accommodate their customer's requirements when making bespoke blinds. This where many companies dealing with the general public fall down, if you buy a product and have no problems with it then you strike lucky. However, if a problem arises be prepared to deal with people that do not want to assist in any way.

As you can appreciate our fabrics are supplied on a roll from our manufacturer, should your window be larger than the width of the roll itself, then it will require a join. There are in fact restrictions from the manufacturer regarding width and they are in place to prevent errors with the fabric in the future ensuring that they last for as long as they possibly can. Should a fabric be stretched and made to wide, you may encounter problems in the future relating to this, which we do not want.

Excellent Service

Visited the Coventry SCS to purchase a suite of Lazy Boy furniture. Salesman (Chad) was extremely helpful during the selection process, providing good information on the product and the Scs aftercare products. A very enjoyable experience with no pressure to buy. However we did buy and are now looking forward to delivery.
