£430 TO REPLACE A WINDSCREEN THAT I DID NOT BREAK
While returning the car, the windscreen cracked. The crack was caused by a tiny stone chip at the bottom of the screen. The chip is the size of a pinprick and is between the wipers on the black section of the screen. It was obviously caused by a stone. However, nothing at all hit the car while I was driving it and I suspect the damage occurred during a previous rental. On the day I collected the car, it was absolutely pouring with rain so the tiny impact crater would have been impossible to see. Nonetheless, I've been landed with a £430 bill to replace the screen.
Also, I booked a Volvo 5-seater but was given a Toyota 7-seater, which was not fuel efficient so the whole trip cost a lot more in petrol than I had anticipated.
On the plus side, Ali, to whom I returned the car, was very helpful when it came to putting together the paperwork for my insurance claim. However, it's a claim I don't think I should have to make.
