I last dispensed some 10 years ago with a Neopost franking machine because the cost of labels to be bought from Neopost was excessive, when making a decision this year I was told that Neopost know longer sold labels, I now find that they are 22.99 per 500, we can use other label's but if they jam the machine Neopost will not repair.
We also found out yesterday that franked mail cannot be posted in letter boxes, again this was the case some years ago but my member of staff order the machine thought that franked mail could be posted in the letter box we found out yesterday that this is not the case and it has to be handed in at a post office tis is extremely inconvenient as the local post office and moved some way away to a branch of W H Smith.
I am also concerned to find that we have to buy ink it would appear 84.99 a cartridge and may last for 2500 franking's, again this could prove very expensive.
The machine itself is very insensitive when the envelopes are inserted for franking, it can lead you to believe that franking as occurred when you remove the envelope you notice that there is no franking and then all of a sudden the machine franks without an envelope.
I appreciate tis may occur when our main member of staff who frequently uses the franking is away from the office, but it does occur when varies other members try to frank.
All in all it would appear that Neopost methods of sale have changed little during the last 10 years, I am on a contract for a year and will certainly review my position at the end.
