Credit card payment incurs additional fee

It's a shame that payment by credit card incurs a high (2%) additional fee that is only apparent after proceeding with the transaction. This is allegedly for "priority / expedited service". However, there is no option to have standard service with a credit card payment and not pay the additional fee.
