My daughter was advice during her trip in Austria to travel back to NL, she has called the ANWB Verzekering where I have paid for short term winter sport travel/medical insurance. She did call the insurance, she was told to book herself flight ticket and it will be fine , she just has to send the invoice for the ticket. Once she was back in NL she called back the insurance and they told her if she has proof she was advice to book ticket herself (I am not sure what is the way to book the ticket in this situation as I do not have experience) therefore I would trust the people whose job it is and not asking for a proof , well most probably they are recording the phone calls (not me)! Plus what I have seen in few occasion every time someone else is on the phone as every time they have different advices/ suggestions / rules..?

Avoid this insurance company at all costs. You are billed even when you are not insured. I initiated a claim after my scooter was stolen and damaged. They subsequently denied the claim, asserting that my scooter did not meet the specifications outlined in the contract. They then promised to "re-assess" my policy, which was never carried out. Unbelievably, they continued to charge me the premium until now, despite the scooter lacking insurance and remaining in the garage for over 6 months because they could not repair it. When I requested a refund for the months during which I was not covered, they also refused. This is absolutely unacceptable and outrageous. I feel like I have been robbed twice: first by the criminals and then by the insurance company.

To my surprise, ANWB paid out the full amount within one day—truly exceptional. And to make it even better, they automatically refunded all the premiums I had paid during the period I was unable to use my bike, without me even asking.
Outstanding service, hassle-free process, and a company that really looks after their customers. Highly recommended!

I do not usually write reviews and previously whenever I did it was for providing positive feedback. But this is an exceptional case. I had problem with my insurance where my insurance was terminated due to my unforseen bank account issues. I completely know that the problem originated from my side and all I wanted during my conversation with the representive (male) was some technical support regarding what can be done and minimum decency as a human being. And all I received was extremely rude behivaour and continious shower of blames. Which did not only made me more confused regarding what to do in this situation but it also made me feel helpless.
Horrible experience. No service guidance. I kindly request you to look into this matter.

UPDATE:
If you expect people to provide a report, hire your own service people, so your customers dont have to add extra costs to insurance that they spent already money on.

Not recommended!
It was the first time that I bought reisverzekering and the last time. My phone got broken.
They requested to send a report from service company. I had to pay for that report from my own pocket (49 euros!) and ANWB didnt agree to compensate it.
They dont have their own service people to check it out, so I had to pay from my own pocket. At the end I got (funny) 67 euros which is way too less, having in mind value of my phone + costs of report that ANWB requested. That's insane.
NEVER AGAIN!

My bike was stolen after 3 years insured by ANWB. ANWB refused to pay anything back for the bike because “en. In de voorwaarden onder artikel 1 punt 16 slot staat beschreven Een ART (categorie 2 of hoger)” in item 1.16 of the agreement stays that the lock should be categorie 2 or higher and my lock happened not to follow this condition. Bike price 600euro. Premium I paid to ANWB within 3 years 900 euro. Be careful with this company
