I’ve had a great experience learning…

I’ve had a great experience learning with Jonathan Adams. He is genuinely passionate about teaching and always goes the extra mile to help his students understand the material. No matter how many questions you have, he is patient, supportive, and happy to explain things until everything is clear.
What I appreciate most is his positive attitude and the energy he brings to every class. He creates a friendly and encouraging learning environment, which makes it much easier to stay motivated and build confidence.
I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for a dedicated, professional, and approachable teacher. Thank you for all your support and encouragement!

So grateful for Ardens Student Success support service - and Mariam!

I had various student success coaching sessions with Mariam. Apart from the service it self being an incredibly helpful and valuable resource/ tool for students, Mariam herself made the experience even better by being supportive, approachable and genuinely encouraging throughout. She gave me practical tools, strategies and motivation - all of which I will continue to use. Mariam’s guidance has made a real difference to my confidence and progress. I’m so very grateful to the service and Mariam.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Arden University.

I have been helping someone with their application process as a former Arden student and former ambassador. During the application process, an email was received asking the applicant to complete the funding section. Unfortunately, the email was not clear. It did not explain that this step was simply to confirm how the course would be funded (for example, through Student Finance) rather than making a payment.

Because Student Finance was still being processed and the relevant forms were being completed, it was reasonably understood that this step needed to wait. This was an honest misunderstanding caused by unclear communication.

What made the situation far worse was a phone call from a member of the admissions team. Instead of simply explaining the misunderstanding, they stated that “the lady helping you doesn’t know what she’s doing,” referring to me.

I found this comment completely unnecessary and unprofessional. A simple explanation such as, “This isn’t asking you to pay; it’s only asking you to confirm your funding method,” would have resolved the situation immediately. Instead, blame was placed on someone who was simply trying to support the applicant through the process.

To make matters worse, when clarification was requested about which email was being referred to, the staff member could not provide the date it had been sent and only referred to the email subject, despite there being multiple emails within the same email thread. This made it unnecessarily difficult to identify the correct information.

I have no issue admitting when something has been misunderstood. However, I do expect staff representing a university to communicate professionally and respectfully. Applicants and those supporting them should be guided through the process, not criticised.

I hope Arden University reviews both the clarity of its funding communication and the standard of communication expected from staff when dealing with applicants and those supporting them.

Prime Support

Lea was very attentive to my concerns and was very reassuring.

She facilitated an extension and contacted my supervisors. She followed up and even arranged a plan B to ensure that I am fully supported.

I value Lea's sense of responsibility and duty of care towards the students.

Angela went above and beyond!

I called student support mid Friday afternoon concerned about a submission query and didn’t think I’d get it resolved so promptly! Angela was ever so helpful and went above and beyond to assist me, my issue was resolved 30mins later! She even followed up with an email reassuring me in case I need to call back on Monday. Thank you so much student support team! Makes us distance learners feel not so overwhelmed!

Coaching Sessions with Success Team

Coaching Sessions with Wendy Lo were so valuable for my student path. I highly recommend for students who are struggling to understand University processes and how to conduct the best studies/learning through a busy adult life! Being an immigrant is already difficult itself, so having a capable person to guide you through this process of study and building your career is priceless! Huge thanks to Wendy and the Success Coaching team!

Made life easy to complete Higher Education

I have studied with Arden since 2021, and I have had a really good experience. I completed two degrees at Arden and felt very supported throughout the years. The flexibility in how I have been able to study has meant I have still been a present mother while also earning my degrees. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent student, the staff members ensured that the support I needed was obtained and was reviewed as often as needed. The lectures are recorded, so I didn't have to struggle to remember everything all the time; I could simply refer back to the recordings to consolidate my notes.

There are opportunities to get involved in many student-led roles too, which makes you feel part of a community, no matter which method you study. Without Arden, I would not have gone back to study, and I wouldn't have my degrees.

A must read

As a little girl, at the age of around 6, I went on holiday with my family and I met another family; with an older boy and his sister, I developed PTSD after a traumatic event involving gunshots outside the Spanish hotel room. As far as I was aware, we were writing to them afterwards. At the age of around 7, I began seeing the little girl, in my room at night time, when the traumatic event took place, because my memory was already fragmented due to the onset of PTSD I was unable to associate the symptoms in line with what had happened. She was a lot like my sister however, my sister was sleeping in the other room alive and well. So I dedicated my life to saving her alongside others. Around this time, I watched Passion of the Christ and it was utterly heart-breaking so I decided to try and save him. I did this through pursuing psychology. Between this time and the time I had begun my studies at the university, I developed C-PTSD as a result of a NDE that lead to psychological torment lasting just over a decade, with the right help and support, there were significant improvements. Following this, my son seemingly experienced a NDE after he stopped moving in my womb. However At the age of 29, I was subtly manipulated and bullied by another student on my psychology course at this university and I finally reacted, I basically told her what I thought, the teachers witnessed what was happening because I told them and she began following me and laughing at me in front of us. She ended up running off into another room. She continued to bully me and I told her, she should pursue another field of work; if a student who is pursuing this line of work is acting in such a disrespectful and abusive manner towards somebody who was considered mentally unwell, it is clear it is not the right career path for that individual. I was two years into studying my degree at this university, had figured out so many potential secrets of the world. As a result of trying to save 'Jesus' whilst working at Saddleworth Medical Practice alongside experiencing my own NDE, I was lead to assume that what I did to psychologically save Jesus- because Jesus is just reference to 'son' prior to falling pregnant with a baby boy, suggests that to me that it aided my son's recovery in the womb when he had stopped moving, fascinating how something so psychologically instilled in our minds can allow our brains to react in such surprising ways. I had a return in cognitive functioning when issues began, repeated IT system failures and false financial statements reflecting on my account; in the first instance, the university blamed Student Finance England, then the second, blamed myself and could not accept responsibility. After 5/6 months of various repeated issues, I decided that it is clearly not an educational establishment but rather, a financial one, selling out anybody they can for an extra lot of money in their back pocket. All of my blood sweat and tears, just for this educational establishment to fail it's duty of care. As a result, I have left the 'educational establishment.'
