Highly unprofessional! Hidden fees and stolen/lost items. Do not recommend! I highly discourage anyone from renting from Autovia Pisa Airport. They are extremely unprofessional.First of all, watch out for their rental guarantees and hidden costs. When you book online, you see one price. When you arrive at the desk, they force you to pay double that amount extra (insurance, dropping the blocked deposit and other hidden fees that should be included in the online cost). If you refuse, they won't refund your online payment, so you basically have no choice but to pay or lose your money.Secondly, I accidentally forgot a pair of Meta smart glasses inside the car. By the time I realized, I had already passed the airport check-in gates and couldn’t go back. I immediately called them. They dragged their feet, making excuses that they would check, but after countless phone calls and emails, their final answer was that 'there was nothing in the car'.They most likely found them and kept them for themselves. Instead of being honest, communicating properly and returning them, they chose to lie. Terrible customer service and zero integrity!

This is the 4th time I've used Autovia in the past 3years. I'm happy to report a consistently excellent service. Staff were courteous, professional and only too happy to help. Our latest car was an almost new VW T-cross. Fabulous. Exactly as booked. Well done Autovia see you again soon.

Impossible to get hold of Pisa on the phone
We had an automatic new car which had gear changing issues and brakes were not as they should be
We tried numerous calls and an email but could not get anyone to speak to

This company is a rip off and will scam you over alleged damage. I hired a car between 28/05/26 - 02/06/26. They tried a hard sell for extended insurance, despite me already paying for it through the booking and made it clear I would have to pay for damage.
On return, despite requesting the vehicle to be inspected I was told there was nobody available so had to just hand the keys in. I completed a full video of the car, noting no damage.
I have since been charged €265 for what I would describe as a 25mm scuff on the roof at best, which would polish off. There isn't even evidence its the same car. Photograph, no video of continuity.
Its a clear scam that i have no way of disputing as they will just take the money off my card.
I took a full video of the car on collection, but the mark is that small and insignificant, it wouldn't show up regardless. They have clearly just looked for any scuff that would show up on a photograph and are satisfied with that. It would be interesting to see how many times they have charged a customer for this scuff. The photograph is embarrassing to call it damage!!
Ignore the fake 5* reviews, they are fake and generated by AI like the company replies to negative reviews.
Disgusting company and people, do not use as you will pay a financial penalty!!

Autovia attempted to have my review removed as they said it contained defamatory content. Trustpilot disagreed!!. There are far too many identical 1* reviews for it to be wrong. Do not use!!

Please do not use this company. They are a scam and they will try and rip you off. I spent 6 months getting back my deposit. They are creating false five star reviews. Just look at the amount of one star reviews.

The car was of excellent quality and offered at a good price. It was new and impeccably clean. Both the pick-up and return processes were efficient and straightforward. The staff was very helpful, professional and kind. It was important additionally because of difficult family situation that aroused unexpectedly.

Friendly personell, got a brand new car. Returning of the car went fast.

We did not have a pre booking for a car. However the gentleman who served at Pisa Airport was very helpful and arranged a car for us at a good price in comparison to others. We were very happy with our car and the service. Drop off at airport was also easy. 100% recommend this company

We hired our car today and to be honestly I was looking forward to this part of the journey after reading some bad reviews.

There was no need to be concerned as it was a pleasant and professional experience. The gentleman on the desk was knowledgeable and helpful and made hiring the car very easy. The car was ready clean and ready to go.

I guess you only write a review when it’s been a negative experience.

This was the first time we rented via Autovia, and we were not disappointed. The car was better than we had expected (a BYD instead of a Ford Kuga), the sevice was efficient and fast.
Would recommend it.
Our pickup was in Pisa, our drop-off was in Venice.

There was nobody at the desk when I arrived to pick up the car. They had left a phone number where one should call. When I called, nobody answered. Only some minutes later my 2nd call was answered. Then someone showed up immediately and everything went very smooth.

Received the car that was ordered. Prompt efficient service. No pressure to buy add ons.

Do NOT return your car after business hours! Do NOT trust them!

Do not leave the car in their parking area without a proper inspection. Don’t make the same costly mistake I did (€350).

I have full photo and video documentation and I am willing to describe the case in detail. The matter has also been reported to the appropriate authorities.

I returned the car at 4:00 AM because I had a flight at 5:00 AM. I used the key drop box. Before returning the vehicle, I carefully checked it and recorded a video showing its condition.

I parked the car at the Pisa Autovia parking area, right next to their office. For those who haven’t been there — it is not a place where random people can walk around freely. I intentionally left the car in a spot where no one needed to park next to it or even pass close by.

At 8:10 AM, shortly after the office opened, I received a damage report stating that a scratch had appeared under the driver-side mirror. This scratch is NOT visible in my video recorded at 4:00 AM.

Based on the photos provided by the rental company, the damage looks like it was made deliberately with a sharp object.

Who caused it? I don’t know — but I have my suspicions.

What was the outcome? The rental company claimed I was responsible for the vehicle between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM, even though it was already parked on their premises. They charged me €350.

If you return the car during business hours, make sure a staff member inspects the vehicle with you and prepares a return report in your presence.

Is this a scam? Draw your own conclusions.

NON restituite l’auto fuori dall’orario di apertura! NON fidatevi!

Non lasciate l’auto nel loro parcheggio senza un controllo adeguato. Non fate lo stesso errore costoso che ho fatto io (350€).

Dispongo di documentazione fotografica e video completa e sono disponibile a descrivere il caso nei dettagli. La questione è stata segnalata anche alle autorità competenti.

Ho restituito l’auto alle 4:00 del mattino perché avevo un volo alle 5:00. Ho utilizzato la cassetta per la restituzione delle chiavi. Prima di lasciare il veicolo, l’ho controllato attentamente e ho registrato un video che ne mostra lo stato.

Ho parcheggiato l’auto nel parcheggio Pisa Autovia, proprio accanto al loro ufficio. Per chi non è mai stato lì: non è un luogo dove possano circolare liberamente persone estranee. Ho lasciato l’auto in una posizione tale che nessuno dovesse parcheggiare accanto o passare vicino.

Alle 8:10, poco dopo l’apertura dell’ufficio, ho ricevuto un rapporto di danno in cui si segnalava un graffio sotto lo specchietto lato guida. Questo graffio NON è presente nel mio video registrato alle 4:00.

Dalle foto fornite dalla società di noleggio sembra che il danno sia stato fatto intenzionalmente con un oggetto appuntito.

Chi lo ha causato? Non lo so, ma ho dei sospetti.

Com’è finita? La società ha dichiarato che ero responsabile del veicolo tra le 4:00 e le 8:00, anche se l’auto si trovava già nel loro parcheggio. Mi hanno addebitato 350€.

Se restituite l’auto durante l’orario di apertura, assicuratevi che un dipendente controlli il veicolo insieme a voi e rediga un verbale di riconsegna in vostra presenza.
