Ellen is awesome!

We purchased a Washington D.C. tour on 6/29/17, and I'm glad we did. Ellen was our tour guide. She kept the tour very interesting, and informative. She really knows her stuff, and she's funny as well. I don't know what you guys pay her, but I'm sure she deserves a raise. Keep up the good work, Ellen! Thanks for a great tour!

No Customer Service

Have used Big Bus in London, New York and Washington DC. Have not had any need to write a complaint, until today because the service was good and staff courteous and knowledgeable. Today, in DC had the most unfortunate experience with the most abnoxious, rude and ill-mannered driver. I tried calling the customer service number and like many reviewers who have had to go through this experience it is extremely painful. There is NO customer service! You really only know how good a company is until there is a problem. I am now pursuing my complaint via an alternative route. I warn all future users of Big Bus, use them carefully and make sure you have all the details at your fingertips should something go wrong, as well as a huge amount of patience because you will need it to get your compliant handled. I suspect that is Big Bus customer care strategy - make it as difficult no frustrating for customers to lodge a compliant and the compliant will disappear.

Handicap unfriendly, unresponsive

Would not allow collapsible (size of stroller) small wheeled seated walker on bus. Waited another half hour for promised alternate transportation only to be refused access again. Told to wait another half hour!! My wife, I, and my grandson wasted the day (our cost $1000/day for hotel, air, & food + $148 tickets) waiting for bus. Ended up hiring cab to get back to hotel. Tried to call seven times over 2 days with no live response. Emailed customer service no response. Very frustrating

Suzi-Q's Review.

We had the same guide at one point during the day and then again on the night tour. He was excellent and full of knowledge. I would give him and the tour five stars. However the second guide we had during the day was horrible. If I ever see him again on a tour bus I will not get on.

Room for improvement

App do not shown my location, only the bus stop, so how can I easily found the exactly location.
When you have an app, and printed coupon, why require me to carry a lame receipt as ticket?
The bus stop do not shown the number, so it is a bit difficult for a tourist to know exactly where we are even we located a bus stop.

Thank you for your feedback, Thomas. We are sorry to read you were unable to use the location services on our Big Bus Application. In order to see your location, you need to turn on location services on your phone and, once you are on the app, you need to press the compass icon. Due to the fact that many guests have data limits, our App will not automatically start using your location unless you press the compass icon. Once you press the icon, you will continue to see the stop locations and your location will be presented as the blue circle. In regard to your comment about ticketing, I can proudly say that Big Bus Tours is constantly improving and a new, more technologically friendly, ticketing system is in the works. Additionally, so guests know where they are, we provide free maps will a complete list of stops. The list of stops includes detailed information on the location of the stops for your convenience. We also provide the aforementioned free Big Bus Application. Should you have any additional feedback to share with us, please contact us at BrianC@bigbustours.com. Thank you for choosing Big Bus Tours!

Briiliant and A Must Do!

I did the Big Bus tour in Washington DC and would definitely recommend it to anyone as it gives you great information about the sights visited and as you can hop on and off and swap between the different routes it stops you having to use cabs / taxi's!
As it was in January, it was a little bit chilly on the open top deck so just wrap up warm as its better to get photos from the up stairs! Just be careful of the trees to the side of bus as they can try to attack you when you get near them while in motion!
With the 48 hours pass you get entry into Madame Tussard's included and that's fun to do as you can get to stand next to the President and famous people! It is quite small and a doesn't take that long but as its included do it!
The only down point of this tour was the bus on the Blue line which went over to the Pentagon Mall area. It was a single deck bus and did have a smell of a public toilet about it!

Hi Harry, thank you for sharing your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community. We are glad you enjoyed the tours and the admission to the Madame Tussauds, but sorry to hear about the Blue Loop. Because the bus travels on highways, in the winter season we use a single-deck bus due to the extreme cold. In April we will begin operating the Blue Loop with double-decker Big Buses again. With that said, I will have our Operations team look into the smell! I have personally not experienced that smell when I ride the Blue Loop and have not heard this comment before so it may have been a one-time occurrence. In any case, the Operations and Engineering teams will investigate this. Thank you for touring with Big Bus Tours.

Great Experience

I would choose Big Bus - if I did it all over again. Great way to see the sights. We signed up for a 48 hr Deluxe and it was worth every penny. Traveling on the top of the bus in late January was a little cold, but worth it :). I loved the night tour - it was a little over 2 1/2 hrs with 1 complete stop at the Lincon Mem. The other add ons were great perks as well.

Just ok.

Just ok .
Wait times for he busses were long and unpredictable. Shorter wait times would be good. Or,
maybe you should put up those digital signs that tell customers how long they still have to wait.
Esp in January, the standing around is annoying.

The speakers on the busses were good.

Thank you for your feedback, Marjorie. Our feedback in the winter season meets the demand of our current open-top, double-decker bus operation. We will be increasing our frequency in April in time for the spring & cherry blossom crowds. In the height of summer, our buses will travel along the National Mall as often as every 10 minutes.

Hi Judy, we are sorry to read you were unable to ride with us and reach us. Unfortunately, the events of the Presidential Inauguration affected the city longer than was initially planned for so we were closed between the 18th and 22nd of January. Your reservation should have been able to be used on the 23rd with the same booking. I can pull up your reservation and have searched for your email by searching your email address, name, and order number and cannot pull up any email from you. Can you please email us at infodc@bigbustours.com? You may also contact us at 1-877-332-8689. We look forward to assisting you.

Horrible customer service

My friend and I bought the two day buss passes. Biggest waste of money!!! Seriously DO NOT buy from them. No one could give us clear times for the bus stops, people would tell us the wrong time and we would end up waiting an hour for the bus! People were extremely rude and not helpful. I would never ever use this service again. we were very excited about this and it ended up ruining our trip. we wasted so much time waiting for the bus because it was never on time or clear for when it was coming. DONT Do it.

Terrible service

Terrible service, avoid Big Bus Tours Washington. Several buses never turned up after waiting hours at stops in freezing cold conditions. Calling the company only resulted in recorded messages and we never received a call back. There was no update or reason why the buses went missing and no apology. This company only wants your money and is very light on in providing an adequate service. You are better off using ride share services. This is not the only bad review, there is a clear pattern of complaints yet this organisation pays no attention to them. Avoid.

We are sorry to read you had a disappointing experience with us recently. So we may investigate your experience, can you please email us at infodc@bigbustours.com with more details? Can you please let us know when you rode with us, where you waited for the buses, and the time of day at each? Our frequency is currently every 30 minutes so you should have seen 2 buses per hour. We also do not stop our service without prior notice unless in the event of weather that is deemed unsafe for our guests and staff. We look forward to hearing from you.
