The only bug bear I had is that my particular gift was not the easiest and most straight forward to book. There were 2 parts to it but at same location. It would have been better if the email booking... See more

What went wrong this time? clearly it happens a lot. I ll explain - after finally adding £200 cash to have an experience and contact from the Hotel to ask and confirm menu's we were happy - then they cancelled! without an alternative offer. this means we have to endure hours of searching again!! meanwhile the value of £300.00 is in your hands not mine! its robbery! Good service to help sort an issue with booking tickets. It took a while to get to chat to customer services but they were really good once we got through.
had some issues with a voucher - got it sorted via the chat function. a bit slow but got there. perhaps a customer contact number would be a better option for some
Zakeera was able to attend to my issue and resend my lost evoucher email promptly. Excellent service provided. Thank you.
The hotel that I chose via your company using a voucher that I had was probably one of the worst hotels I have ever been too.
Upon arrival I had to park my car in a garage area that was separate from the hotel and was extremely dirty with large industrial bins overflowing with food waste and large industrial trolleys full of bedding open to the elements.
Gaining access to the hotel via the back door was very dangerous as the steps down from the road surface were uneven and very steep.
When entering the reception area we were met by a damp smell and then could see extremely unclean and stained carpets and as for the wallpaper it was stained from damp marks and on the wall to the rear of reception parts of the paper were missing.
Whilst the lady on reception was helpful the decor standard didn’t change as we walked up the stairs to our room. The room that we booked was a superior room with a sea view. When we opened the room door once again we were met by the same stained walls and the paint on the ceiling was pealing off, curtains that were bleached by the sun, stained and ripped, windows covered in bird poo, chairs in the bay window were dirty with the little white table peeling and the carpet was just as stained as the rest of the hotel.
Simple things like the remote for the tv having no back on it for the batteries.
The room was so bad that I sat on the edge of the bed and had to find somewhere else to stay as there was no way I was staying in such a disgusting hotel. I had booked this hotel based on the reviews and location. When booking I chose to upgrade and pay for the best I could get as I was celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary and I thought this was a lovely treat but it turned out to be an absolute disaster.
After being in the room about 20 minutes we went back to reception to check out but had to join a queue of other guests making complaints about various issues they were experiencing. When I got to speak to the receptionist and told her that I was checking out as the property/room was so disgustingly dirty she didn’t seem to be too surprised and said that she would let her boss know. She didn’t even ask what parts of the hotel I was disappointed with or by.
If the room I had been given was a superior room I dread to think what the other rooms in the hotel looked like.
This is the first time we have ever used your vouchers and if this is the sort of hotels that you offer I wouldn’t recommend your company to anyone else.
Based of this information how would I be able to get a refund not only for the voucher but for the extra that I paid for the upgrade.
Really great prompt email feedback and the tickets I ordered arrived shortly after.Very easy to download to my wallet.I would definitely use Buyagift in the future.
excellent customer service. Abonga was amazing and sorted my issue out very promptly (Wrong promo code in wowcher) Will definitely be purchasing again 😊
A great experience with four different lots of clays to shoot at. Dan our, tutor was excellent, and guided us through the whole process at Lea Valley
I made a error in my order concerning an email address. Customer services (Mikhail) very prompt and helpful in sending the voucher to the correct email address. Recipient it received immediately and is delighted with the gift.
It was a present and gave us the experience we would never have experienced without it. Well set out acres of steam trains and nostalgia.
We found trying to use a voucher so difficult it went out of date , driving experience which they then changed for credit note which went out of date

Very disappointing and confusing experience from beginning to end.
This voucher was actually a birthday gift from my work colleagues, and in our company (more than 1,000 employees) we regularly gift Buyagift vouchers to each other. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not recommend using this company again.
First, I tried to redeem a Slug & Lettuce experience and repeatedly encountered technical booking errors through the Buyagift website. I paid upgrade fees twice and still could not complete the reservation. Even submitting a complaint through their website failed due to another error.
After many emails, refunds and voucher reissues, I selected a different experience at Palmyra Restaurant. I called the restaurant in advance, confirmed the booking, paid another upgrade fee, and attended the restaurant — only to be told that the voucher was not visible in their system, meaning we had to leave without being able to use the experience.
At no point in the conditions was it clearly explained that there may be a waiting period or activation delay after redeeming/upgrading a voucher before it becomes valid in the restaurant system.
The entire process has been confusing, stressful, time-consuming and honestly embarrassing at times. The voucher system, upgrades, credits and reissued vouchers are extremely unclear and difficult to manage as a customer.
Customer service eventually responded politely and refunded some payments, but the overall experience was exhausting and far from the enjoyable gift experience it was supposed to be.

Very helpful and Customer Service was spot-on. Akhona was great. Thank you
We received several Buyagift vouchers through our John Lewis Wedding Gift List, which were intended to help create memorable experiences during our first years of marriage. Sadly, the reality has been deeply disappointing.
The core issue is transparency around value.
After attempting to redeem the vouchers, we discovered that the actual booking value available through Buyagift was often significantly lower than the amount our wedding guests had paid. One theatre voucher purchased for £89.99 showed only £65.55 of exchange value when selecting alternative experiences. Across multiple vouchers, the difference totalled more than £230.
We also repeatedly found the exact same theatre seats available cheaper directly through providers such as TodayTix, while Buyagift simultaneously pushed expensive seat upgrades during the redemption process.
What made the situation worse was the handling of the complaint itself. Responses were slow, inconsistent and ultimately stopped altogether, despite months of correspondence. To their credit, John Lewis did attempt to support us and reached out to Buyagift several times directly, but even they appeared unable to get meaningful engagement.
This was especially upsetting because these were not ordinary purchases — they were wedding gifts chosen by friends and family who trusted they were giving us genuine experiences and value.
I appreciate that companies need to make commission, but customers should be clearly informed if the redeemable value of a voucher is materially lower than the retail price being paid.
Unfortunately, the overall experience left us feeling disappointed, misled and reluctant to use the remaining vouchers.

We had a very nice afternoon tea. When I booked it, I advised it was for a birthday and the table was dressed accordingly, without asking and at no extra cost.
The staff on duty were very pleasant and attentive, without being in your face. The tea was nice. Sandwiches were ok, nicely presented.
