The Salesman Yasin was very professional and helpful. There was no hard sell of the ancillary items but clear information was freely offered. I will reserve full judgment until the deal is completed... See more

Car planet in Watford sold us a car and within less than 24hours, the engine light came on. They have made it extremely difficult to get the car looked at, with multiple calls a day to the ‘after sales team’ who clearly want to get you off the phone as soon as possible since they love interrupting you as you speak.
After a lot of persuasion, we have managed to get the car diagnosed but are now having to chase up to even get our money reimbursed.
Be mindful that they will ask you to drive to their Enfield site to get any work done or have the car reviewed. They won’t compromise considering they’ve sold us a car with the false intention that it was all okay, and will have taken zero responsibility for this.
I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND car planet.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Car Planet Barnet. I visited as a first-time car buyer and expected a professional and trustworthy experience, but unfortunately the customer service throughout the process was extremely poor.
When I went to purchase the car, the finance process could not be completed because it was late in the day. I was asked to pay a deposit to secure the vehicle while the finance procedure was completed. When I asked whether the deposit was refundable, the sales representative initially told me that it was not refundable. When I questioned this, instead of explaining the policy professionally, he asked me why I wanted to change my mind. Following a brief and uncomfortable discussion, I received an email stating that I would receive a refund of the deposit if I decided to change my mind, “No questions asked.” This was completely contradictory to what I had been told verbally.
While waiting for the finance process, the same representative told me he would be back in five minutes but was away for around half an hour speaking with colleagues. When I tried to get his attention to find out what was happening, I was ignored.
On the day of collection, I was told there was bird droppings on the car. I politely asked whether the car could be cleaned before collection because I had travelled from London to Leicester and had planned to perform traditional rituals for my new car and take photographs for my family. I was told the valet was unavailable. When I asked whether anything could be done, I was told, “You clean it, it's your car.” At that stage I had not even completed all the paperwork, which I found particularly disappointing.
After taking the car home, I discovered that the vehicle was missing its charging cable. I had only been provided with the home charging equipment. When I contacted Car Planet Barnet, rather than immediately trying to resolve the issue, I was asked whether I had checked the car before buying it and whether the description specifically stated that the charging cable was included.
I explained that I am a first-time car buyer and relied on the dealership to properly explain what was included with the vehicle. I was then told that the manager would call me back, but nobody did. After calling again, I was subsequently contacted by the sales representative, who again questioned whether I had “used my eyes” when viewing the car and whether I had specifically asked about the cable. I found the tone extremely rude and inappropriate.
I eventually spoke with the manager, who said he would need to review the call recordings before deciding what could be done. I asked for the relevant information in writing so that I would not have to repeatedly explain the situation, but I was instead transferred to after-sales. I was then told that because it was a second-hand car, it would not necessarily come with all accessories and was sold “as seen.”
My concern is that this was never clearly explained to me before purchase. I understand that I purchased a used vehicle, but I expected the dealership to clearly disclose what was and was not included, particularly when dealing with a first-time buyer.
The biggest issue for me is not simply the missing charging cable. It is the overall attitude, communication and lack of professionalism throughout the buying and after-sales process.
I expected Car Planet Barnet to provide a trustworthy and professional customer experience. Instead, I experienced contradictory information, being ignored while waiting, poor communication, failure to return calls and staff speaking to me in a manner that I considered extremely rude.
My advice to anyone purchasing from this dealership, particularly a first-time buyer, is to check every item personally and get absolutely everything confirmed in writing before completing the purchase.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and not the level of customer service I expected from a professional car dealership.
Hi all,
After bad customer experience after bad experience in London I had a surprisingly exceptional experience with car planet. After an impromptu meeting with my mechanic he informed me of a car that had just hit the online market and showed me the advert. I made my appointment for the next day and after a evening call to confirm my viewing and a morning text reminder, I made my way to car planet. The purchasing experience was brilliant my sales rep Hassan was accommodating, personable and friendly with a great sales manner. The whole purchasing system was seamless.
If anything can be improved I'd say the reservation system needs tweaking.
Thanks
Extremely poor experience with Car-Planet Barnet. I came into their office on Tuesday and made it clear that if I couldn't drive the vehicle away that day, the deal was off. We couldn't reach an agreement and their manager explicitly told me to leave as nothing could be done.
Despite this, and despite sending a written cancellation request, I have been bombarded with constant phone calls and sales pressure.
They are refusing to release my £1,500 deposit back to my card for a finance application that was never executed.
Very aggressive, persistent, and unresponsive to clear cancellation requests. I will be escalating this via my bank (Lloyds) and trading standards if the deposit is not returned immediately.

So, I found a lovely little Toyota Yaris on Car Planet. It was clear it hadn't long been on the site, so I paid £99 to reserve it, and I also booked to see it later in the day. About 3 or 4 hours later I get a call from someone at Car Planet. We are awfully sorry, but transferring the car from our prep area to our main site for your viewing, it broke down. We want to be open and honest about that and want to diagnose and fix the problem. That's fine, so my reservation will stay in place then? No, we will issue a refund, and take the car off of the site until it is sorted. Ok then, so you will contact me so I get first refusal when it is sorted. Yes the man said.
So, I call them today, and speak to another guy who says they made a silly mistake, and despite me reserving the car they sold it anyway, so bad luck, very unfortunate. In my view this was their mistake not mine, so they should have sorted it by telling the person the sold it to that it was actually reserved and not for sale. That aside though, they called me and told me a blatant lie, making up a story that it had broken down in transit.
The guy I spoke to today then thought he would move on to try selling me another car, like I would ever want anything from this company if that is the way they like to operate. I have asked the company for the contact details of people to raise a complaint with, which they wouldn't give me. They said they would pass my details to them and now I have to wait for their call, and also 3-5 working days to get a refund on the pointless reservation that doesn't actually reserve a car if they get a whiff of a quick sale in the interim.
My advice to anyone considering using this company is to move along and go elsewhere, as if this is the way they operate I would have zero trust in anything they tell me about a car they want me to buy.
Jason at Car Planet -Barnet. Was absolutely amazing. He made the whole process of buying my car so easy.
I would like to thank Kam, Yusif and team for their assistance in expediting my car purchase they all provided an excellent service delivered with professionalism and assurance.
Stay away from Car Planet, brought a car a month ago with on going issues, I call most days and am told different things, had a bout 6 case workers and promised everyday they will call back. NOTHING. Still waiting to issues to be resolved. DISGUSTING

We brought a car from car planet Watford. The day after we got it home due to a clip that had become loose in the bumper we took it to an independent body shop who informed us it had been in an accident, and sadly the damage was obvious once you looked for it.
On contacting car planet after sales they agreed to ‘fix’ the issues I had found, so I took the car to enfield where they just forced the clip back into place and didn’t correct any of the misalignment issues.
Less than a week later and on my first time driving the car on a motorway with my kids in the car started to make a terrible noise everytime I accelerated over 65 miles an hour. On stopping and looking I noticed that a large sheet of metal had come loose under the car.
As a result of losing faith in the car I informed car planet that I wished to return the car for a full refund as are entitled to under the consumer rights act within 30 days of purchasing a second hand car.
Under uk consumer law you have the right to reject a vehicle with in 30 days if a fault was present or developing at the point of sale, with The emphasis on them to prove the fault was not present or developing and not the customers.
Their after sales team are doing everything in their power to avoid taking the vehicle back, including trying to lay blame and responsibility back with me their customer in direct conflict with their consumer right act requirements. It would almost be comical if safety and huge amounts of money were not at stake as it is possible to catch them out with their misinformation on every email they send - their tactic being keep pushing back until you give up - they have clearly received training on this and are leveraging AI to do this!.
Special mention to the after sales team at the ‘mega centre’ in Enfield aka a miserable dusty car park of hundreds of cars haphazardly parked waiting for their new owners.
The only reason they have so many five star reviews is the pushy car sales staff make you do one there and then at time of purchase! They make you scan a QR code on their desk, When you are on a high having just signed and your dream car is within touching distance, you just have to mention their name in your review- infact they are so helpful they will even type and post your review for you, one of those being mine and my husbands after 4 hours of sales banter.
I can imagine that the people who have brought a car like myself and there are hundreds of us would score very differently now have driven and owned a car from there- which is why I am sharing my experience.
Reality is my issues started as soon we owned the car.
I should of realised as my first impressions at Watford was it is a dusty car park filled with unloved cars parked on every available surface, that I can only assume have received the same substandard checks prior to selling as mine did, with lovely young chatty sales people incentivised to take as much money as possible from you.
I wish I’d saved myself the stress and brought from a main dealer for a bit more
Money, and not this firm who I am sure will be going the same way as car giant - which is all they deserve based on my experience.
In summary The whole experience has been awful, and they are a terrible company to deal with what should be an exciting time been turned into a no fault car crash with no witnesses - quite literally.
Stay away and thank me later I wouldn’t wish a car from car planet on my worst enemy!
Queue the generic response from
Car planet team to reach out to them for support to appear helpful, which I am already doing daily and not getting anywhere!
And the support team have been copied in to all the emails today, however I will forward them ‘directly’ to you tomorrow so you can also do nothing with them, as with your after ‘fails’ team!

Terrible.
The prompt said be constructive. They say they do a hundred checks on cars they sell. The one I bought lasted 30 hours before breaking down and now needs £4,000 of repair.

Yesterday I got a car and I went there stressed because I needed a car quickly.
I met Mo, he was absolutely brilliant, very helpful, gave good advice, very transparent and made the process very smooth and he was comfortable to deal with.
Today had a call from after sales team, Mash, he wanted to get feedback how the car is and how the experience was.
I would definitely 100% recommend to try them if you are looking for a car.
They got plenty of choices and very friendly staff.
The people I spoke with while I was there.
No complaints, only positive attitude.
Thanks to the team.

I sold the car through CarWow online auction and Car Planet Watford bid £16712 for the vehicle. Which I thought was a reasonable price for an 8 year old Mercedes C Class cabriolet with only 19000 miles. Car planet arranged to pick up the vehicle but when the guy arrived he then decided to find faults with the car, even though I had to upload over 10 pictures of the vehicle and show proof of a fully serviced Mercedes history of the car. The guy was at my house for 2 1/2 hours pressuring me to take less for the vehicle saying that he could only offer £15,500 for the car. And that he would only be able to retail the vehicle at £17,995 at most. I eventually agreed on a price of £15,800 because I had already agreed to buy a new car and needed the money to complete my deal. That £17,995 has now increased to £19,400 on their website? They’ve only had the car a week and had now priced it with a potential profit of £3,600. Not a great way to do business!! Would never use again!! If I could score 0 out 5 I would!

I’d also like to know what compensation I am receiving for total lack of care and the fact that carplanet misdiagnosis of a faulty car;
Over 100 emails and calls being spoken too and accused of lying over a faulty car I have emails to say it’s funny how I’m making issues with the car as I tried to return it after 31 days. NO I was returning the car after 31 days as the car was clearly sold with a major fault on it I was treated disgraceful by your after sales department.
2 reports in Audi again called a liar and told I’m making it up, Audi diagnosed the car in 2 hours you have had the car for another 2 weeks and only just admitted the fault with the car?? So I’ve paid twice for Audi diagnostics reports as your garage lied and tried to fob me off!!
Not being able to get to work not having a car as in total now car planet has left me carless for 3 weeks and counting and no refund to get another car!!
Left with no choice but to pay a hire car out of my own pocket as car planet do not give a hire car even though I was sold a bad car with faults.
Paying for a car with faults even though car planet has had the car 3 weeks and counting I’m paying for tax, insurance and a hire car again out of my pocket as car planet sold a bad car and failed to diagnose what was clearly wrong all the way back in April.
2 weeks to let me know an outcome as the guy dealing with the car was on holiday no response no communication no nothing as the guy was on holiday!!
6 months of the worst stress of my life as car planet clearly knew the car had major faults car wasn’t checked was sold with them. Totally scammed took the car back all the way to Enfield another day money lost from work another inconvenience for car planet to have the car a whole week drive it 100 miles and then tell me nothing is wrong with the car!!???
Then car planet had the cheek to then after another 2 weeks paying for tax insurance and a hire car to say I can now be refunded but ME it’s ME who is getting deducted I suggest you read this very carefully before you take a penny off me!!!
I want to know when the money is coming back I send bank details days ago I feel I’ve been inconvenienced enough anyone with half a brain cell can see how at fault car planet has been!!
This month alone car planet has cost me over £400 through loss of earning extra car hires and still paying for insurance and tax on a car they have kept for over 2 weeks!!! Admitted the car is faulty after I’ve paid Audi diagnosis twice withholding my refund so I am without a car or money. I am being charged mileage when I’ve been begging them to take the car back since April it was bodged kept a week and returned with the same faults.
If you buy a car from this place and it goes wrong good luck getting any extra help or getting your money back. They are scammers and liars and as soon as you pay they are not interested. Coming up to 4 weeks no car no hire car no compensation and you have to get the car to Enfield to get it fixed. All the bad reviews are true so believe what people are saying regarding the after sales I’ve been through 5 months of hell in a faulty car and still fighting to get my refund. I am also £900 in additional debt as I’ve had to pay from my own pocket car hire and fees to a proper garage to prove car planet were wrong. Do not take their word go and get a proper diagnosis from a main dealer garage. No wonder people are protesting outside and warning others do not buy a car from them check social media how bad this place is. Yes I have wrote many reviews all true and based on my experience!!! WHERE IS MY REFUND CAR PLANET!!!! You have had the car back weeks?!

I would like to give a review for Caglar in after sales. After a leak was noticed in the car I gave them a ring, he was lovely and understanding. He gave me different options that’s I could go down and explained it all to me. The option he suggested I went for and the car is now fixed at no cost to me. It was easy and made the whole thing a lot better.
