Let me start off by saying, David Wilson homes is most definitely NOT a 5 Star builder. The quality of the homes are not 5 Star, and the customer service offered post sale is nothing short of mental torture.
For 16 Months i have had nothing but fights with customer services to get things rectified. Customer services is systematically broken from the top to the bottom, they do not care about you one bit. They feed you whatever you want to hear so the problem temporarily goes away, dragging everything out into inevitable war at the cost of your mental wellbeing.
We have currently had our 4th bedroom upside down with carpet up and unfinished for a month, for a job that was meant to be completed in a couple of days. Every interaction with them goes bad, if it didn't cause so much disruption and stress id actually laugh at how comical they are. We were fed lies from the day we reserved starting with the completion date, after being pushed back twice and moving in while they were still “finishing” (and i used that word lightly) the house, to present day, nothing has changed.
I escalated my most recent complaint above the people i was dealing with as i was sick of them, got zero reply from the people above, instead they nominate the very people i am complaining about to deal with the complaint…. Wow! Guess what, nothing changes, still don't reply to emails for a week, still don't listen to what your saying, they are disgusting!
Our 5 star house has had every block hand painted because of an insane colour mismatch during the build, the dry ridge blew off, has turf right round it that can barely survive as it was laid on rocks instead of topsoil. The drive sank, it has a water tank no one knows how to get working properly and surges when you put a tap on, has a structural defect in the flooring joists that we are currently at war trying to sort, went without any bushes planted right round it during a 6 month war with customer services telling me they are coming week after week and never materialising. There is more i just haven't got the time to write it all, just trust me when i say buying a David Wilson home will be the beginning of a very rough time for you.
This is our third new build home, first one was Avant homes, second Taylor Wimpey, and these lot are by far the worst we have dealt with iv genuinely not experienced anything like it.
This is what you get for your 350k… 365k with options, nowt but chew stress and loss. Loss of your time writing emails and phone calls, loss of days off waiting around, loss of earnings, loss of quality of life through stress and people constantly in or around your home when all you want to do is settle.
I personally would never buy another from them, the layout, size and look of the house yeah great, beyond that they are a shower of sh 1 t
We visited the David Wilson Nursery Fields development in West Sussex and we were assisted in our house search by Ingrid. She answered all our questions in a professional and friendly manner. Unlike some other house builders we did not feel any pressure to make our decision. When you are choosing a new home ,it is one of your important life decisions and Ingrid made us feel at ease and helped alleviate the stressful situation. This is the way to sell successfully.

I almost never write reviews, but our experience buying at The Hawthorns with David Wilson Homes genuinely felt worth writing about.
Before buying here we'd been round 8 new build developments in total, and the sales experience varied massively. Some were disinterested, some quite transactional, and at a couple we honestly didn't feel particularly welcome.
Jenny was a complete breath of fresh air.
From the first time we walked into her office she was genuinely warm and welcoming, and that never changed. We dropped by plenty of times during the process and every time she seemed genuinely pleased to see us, always happy to have a chat and never made us feel like we were taking up her time.
Her big smile and positivity sealed the deal for us. It felt like she knew she had a great product to sell and could focus instead on building mutual trust and making the whole experience as pleasant as possible - from first exploring the development and talking through options, to reservation, regular build updates, handover and even after we'd moved in.
Then there's Nathan, the site manager. He's won multiple awards and, having now moved in, it's easy to see why.
What we've appreciated most is the attention to all the little things where you can tell someone's thought about the house from the homeowner's point of view, rather than just ticking a box. One small example is the bark edging around the lawn - it looks much better than turf just running straight to the boundary, but also makes mowing and looking after it easier. That's only one example of quite a few little touches around the house that individually aren't huge, but together make a real difference.
We also had an independent snagging inspection before moving in. Only relatively minor things came back, and the inspector actually said it was one of the best-built new homes he'd seen. That was obviously very reassuring and says a lot about Nathan and the team on site.
I think that's what stands out most. With a big volume housebuilder it would be very easy for the whole thing to feel like ticking boxes and churning houses out, but this site hasn't lost the human touch. Both on the sales side and the build side, you feel like people actually care about the customer and what they're handing over at the end.
The Hawthorns itself has been a great find too - really handy for King's Mill Hospital and the M1, but still a very quiet neighbourhood - and we really lucked out on getting one of the last few!
I don't normally bother writing reviews, but Jenny and Nathan - and DWH team - genuinely deserve the recognition. We're very happy with the house and they've both made what could have been a pretty stressful process a really positive one.

Throughout our experience of the viewing process and communication with DW at Forest Walk, Curbridge the staff we dealt with were helpful and knowledgeable at all times. To be fair we were quite exacting in our requests and requirements which in the end could not be reached. But it was certainly not from the lack of effort on their part to make things work. Unfortunately the property/ development was not for us in the end.

Good communication from initial viewing through to completion. From Mel and Lina in the Sales Office to
Alex (Site Manager) and team they have all been great.
The location is beautiful with many facilities nearby such as stores, GP surgery, hairdresser and a Fish and Chip shop.

We moved into our new David Wilson home on a very nice new estate close to a pretty market town and so far we have had a very good experience. The lead up to completion is quite intense and a roller coaster however in comparison to the usual issues with buying and selling ours was a smooth, fast, if tense transition. We would like to give a shout out in particular to Jacob (Honeymans Helm) he has been very responsive and efficient and kindly sorted out all our minor snagging issues and to Trish and Helen in the sales team who were knowledgable and helpful throughout. So far so good, we have been very happy with our new home. Thanks from Wendy and Tony Lane

A fantastic home-buying experience with David Wilson Homes – Arrow Green
We have had an absolutely wonderful experience with David Wilson Homes at Arrow Green, from the initial sale right through to moving in and settling into our new home.
The team has been incredibly customer-focused at every stage. Everyone we have interacted with has been friendly, approachable and genuinely eager to help us with every aspect of the process. Their support and responsiveness have made what can often be a stressful experience feel smooth and reassuring.
The quality of the home has also exceeded our expectations. We are genuinely impressed with the build quality and attention to detail, and we feel that David Wilson Homes has delivered more than what was promised to us.
The location is another major highlight — it is wonderfully serene and peaceful, which has been a big part of why we love our new home.
Overall, we absolutely love our home and are so pleased with our purchase. A huge thank you to the entire David Wilson Homes team at Arrow Green for making our journey such a positive one.
We would highly recommend David Wilson Homes to anyone looking for a new home.

We only started seriously house hunting around three weeks ago. What was clear from the outset was that we wanted new build. What became clear almost as quickly was that David Wilson Homes had something for us. From the quality of their showhomes, staff and website we were soon focused on a single property and now just over 3 weeks into the process we have chosen our home and settled on a part exchange deal. Within 6-8 weeks from now we will probably be moved in. Guiding us through this process has been Jane from Harlestone Grange Northampton and she’s gone above and beyond to help find us what we needed. Knowledgable and experienced, Jane loves her job and that shows every time we speak with her. Non-pushy but truthful Jane has definitely made one of the most stressful things you can do an absolute pleasure. Will be recommending that friends and family go and talk to Jane if they’re in the market for a new house. Also, Jess who was in the office today has said she’ll do some research to help us find the material used for the curtains used in one of the show homes which is incredibly helpful.

We can't praise the team on site highly enough. Jane in the Sales Office has been brilliant with the efficient service she has provided. She has been both friendly, approachable and helpful. Carl, the assistant site manager, has always gone out of his way to ensure that we understood all the features of our new home and has been a most amiable contact throughout the past few months. He couldn't have been more helpful and has responded immediately to all our queries. Can't praise both of these people enough.

Great sales consultant. So helpful and understanding throughout. We are in England and buying in Scotland. Process is so different but the sakes team are trying to make the process as easy as possible and accepted a deposit for the Falklands in Cornhill Village even though our house is sold subject to contract

When we bought our house we were told by the sales team that they did not reduce prices as it was not fair to existing homeowners. You can imagine our frustration when 4 weeks after moving in an identical property next to us was reduced in price by 15k as well as an enhanced incentive. My issue is not that the price was reduced, it was that we were told this would not happen so that impacted our ability to negotiate. Despite numerous emails to them we have been brushed off and basically it’s implied that the conversation never happened. People beware !
I consider this practice to be potentially unfair and misleading under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, which prohibit commercial practices that cause the average consumer to make a different transactional decision. I understand that the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) and the New Homes Ombudsman Service also expect builders to demonstrate transparency and fair treatment in their sales practices.

We were kept up to date via Abby Timmins our sales advisor on the progress of the build. Abby was amazing and asnwered our many questions. On the day we moved in Abby met us at our new house and with a hamper, very nice. We love the house and the estate, we are settling in really well.

Outstanding Customer Care – Andy C
I would like to take the opportunity to praise Andy C from the David Wilson Homes Customer Care team.
Andy has now attended my property several times, and on every occasion he has been professional, friendly, knowledgeable and takes genuine pride in his work. He is a real credit to himself and a big asset to the David Wilson Homes Customer Care team.
It is this level of care, attention to detail and willingness to get to the root of an issue that really stands out.
I have had a number of snagging issues with my new home, but whenever Andy attends, I know the job is going to be approached professionally and properly.
David Wilson Homes should be proud to have people like Andy in their Customer Care team. His attitude, workmanship and customer service are exactly what you would hope for when dealing with aftercare on a new-build home.
Thank you, Andy, for all your hard work — it really is appreciated. 👏

We part exchanged our house for a David Wilson home and the whole process was very easy and straightforward. The quality of the house and aftercare is also very good, I’d definitely choose them again or recommended them to anyone.

Great to see Julia back working at Calder Rise. She is literally the best sales agent we have met! We looked to buy a house around Preston for 18 months and Julia was head and shoulders above every site we visited. Look after her David Wilson Homes…. She is gold dust!!!!
